A friend of mine is currently serving a life sentence for murder. It’s such a surreal disconnect to realize this person who I lived with, who helped me develop as a person and who I trusted, killed an innocent person. On one hand he did something awful that can never be taken back, but there are those good memories of my friend. It’s easy to be on the outside and judge but the reality is so much more complicated and awful. But in the end, he did what he did and despite how I felt about him, he has to pay the price.
@@RabbiSchmuelGoldsteinTreeofLif no, it was just an impulse. It’s like climaxing, you get that brief moment where it feels right and then reality sets in and you feel nothing. You are empty, spent.

I was already a bit suspicious of thorn if I'm being honest. My gut was telling me to find a different organization against child exploitation to donate to instead. Now, with everything that's come out through the Danny Masterson case, I'm glad I stuck to my gut with that
Ive been thinking about this a lot recently. I consider myself and ehtical person and try my best to be good to the people i interact with. Even still there are many times in my life i have had poor judgement and done things that were not great for the person on the receiving end. Now if i was a high profile individual and the stakes for my every decision was much higher and much more public i would most likely at some point have done big mistakes and been labelled a bad person for them no matter how much i tried or how many good deeds i did along the way. Of course ego, humility and all else plays a big part, but its still nuts how hard it is to always make the right call at every turn for years and years while being in the spotlight. I do not envy famous and influental people.

I’m glad we’ve mostly moved on from talking like that.
gross way to talk about teenage girls; I remember older men thinking it was okay to flirt with me when I was 15-17 years old - talk like this enabled them I am sure.
I mean, people still do that, like they did that with Millie Bobby Brown. The problem is once somebody is 18 years old. It’s OK to angle them because they’re an adult and they really haven’t changed much from the months that they were 17 other than a number.
@@dannigro8794 "really haven’t changed much from the months that they were 17 other than a number" that's a real slippery slope especially when we're talking about grown men in Hollywood and manipulation they use on underage girls. If everyone is sticking with the laws and always keeping the parents involved, ideally with mandatory counseling check-ins, then that would be a lot more ideal to keeping them safe.
25,000 victims of human trafficking were identified using Thorn, I think decades of their actions fighting for this outweighs two letters. I understand why people are upset with them but to say that they have lost all credibility? I think that’s a stretch. But then again what am i but one person. My opinion is just that, my opinion.
You are being logical. When it comes to this type of thing 95% of people are either incapable or unwilling to think logically. You are correct. Kutcher's good outweighs his bad exponentially. It doesn't matter, though. The pitchforks will wave. Voices of dissent will be drowned out by a tidal wave of shrieking mobs. Our society gives no shits about who you were yesterday (unless it was bad). They only care about whar you did today.
This is not to defend Mila and Ashton in any way, but when the “church” of Scientology is involved, they use incredibly effed up and scary tactics to force people to do what they want them to do. I wonder if that’s where those letters really came from. I could be absolutely wrong here, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that was part of this mess.
Intentional human being, a drug free influence, confront issues in life and schilling for scientology purification rundown using 911 first responders? You bet scientology wrote that shit. Watch Milas face when Ashton mentions the family asked them! She looks pissed.
you're right. when's the last time you heard someone normal describe another person as "intentional"? that's Scientology speak. i think the cult has dirt on Ashton Kutcher.
Really interesting take. You are completely correct in the general public not knowing the lengths the church will go to in order to hide the truth or get their way.
30 years is life. Any sentence 25 years or more is considered life. Consecutive life sentences is multiple sentences for multiple crimes equaling 25 or more years per. Which means your comment is moot.
I'm actually embarrassed for him and Mila with their cringe apology video. I can just hear their PR person saying "Ok, look as disheveled as possible like you're going through it. And we'll record this on my old Blackberry from 2005 to make the video seem humble and approachable. Go!"
i mean , to be fair, they're character letters. They are used to help the defendant. SMH it's not like they're saying they support rape. Literally anyone can do it. Even if you kill someone, you can have people come up and take the stands to defend who you are AND not what you're being persecuted for. That's why is innocent until proven guilty. Until the judge Offically sentences you. The character letters DON't come afterwards. I had to write some myself for some friends of mine, who got caught up stupid street crimes. It's an attempt to save your friends reputation, and in hopes the judge can udnerstand.
IDK how to feel about this, I had close friends that would later turn out to be very fucking evil. I would defend them in public just to be proven wrong later in life. I can say the felling is even worse when is a relative who you're defending
They knew he was proven guilty in a court of law before they wrote the letters. Ashton acknowledged the rapes in his letter! It’s not a case of being fooled and later finding out
They may have just believed their friend. I think people are making this more than it is. People can be manipulated or believe lies especially when reality is shocking! They shouldn't have made an insincere apology video. They should've stated the truth; they believe their friend or believed their friend. Furthermore, people always write character letters for the court to get a lesser sentence.
@@blakea.e.1681They said they acknowledge the court found him guilty. 🙄 That's not the same thing as believing their friend to be guilty. They wanted a lienent sentence. I may not agree but that doesn't make their work of saving children in vain. He didn't rape anyone.
@blakea.e.1681 so now all of a sudden you wanna defend the court of law when it's convenient!! They are not on the jury. They are not judges. They are HUMAN BEINGS WITH HUMAN FEELINGS. Thank you for talking about the Hollywood ripper situation. it's confirmed by the lapd. He lied and because of that, the guy walked free and killed again, then was finally caught 17 years later (give or take) during an attempted murder. the cops knew he lied. The victims families have legal basis to sue. Kutcher is incredibly involved with scientology but not technically in the church. he may as well be though. I do wish you'd have gone into more detail.
As someone who has studied Scientology, i would not be surprised if Ashton was somewhat coerced by the 'religion' to ask for leniency for a fellow scientologist actor. Essentially the faith stores all your life information and threatens to release it if you go against it, hence why Tom Cruise, John Travolta, and Ashton are still involved in it
All these two had to do was not write a letter supporting a CONVICTED RAPIST. And that should be emphasized, they wrote these AFTER he had been convicted of rape.
@@5starstudios818 Yeaaa but some people deny they even did these messed up things, blame their accusers actions on a social movement, then get people who supposedly defend people from SA to write letters saying he's a nice guy lol. Some people seem to have/want to.

Milla actually has two very good, honest parents and they trusted & allowed their daughter to make her own decisions. They never have ever accepted any $$ from her or taken any of her earnings, even when she asked them to. Times were very different back in the late 90’s & early 2000’s & I agree it’s better we’ve moved forward as a civilization, since then…at least, I hope we have😅
The beginning part of this video, I feel like is something that we need to discuss more of. We're upset at celebrities that does sketchy things like kissing a 14 year old child when the actor is 19. But why do not question or grill the production companies that force these things to happen. I feel like that the show as a whole created this narrative that made Mila look like a whore, forced possible grooming situations to happen on her, but yet the company(or person making the ideas) are able to run away with no issues.
"Growing up in Scientology" says SO MUCH about this. Aaron said one of the accusers got that 70s show dropped from Netflix and another show "The ranch" was cancelled. He knew, and held a grudge towards the victims
"The Ranch" actually ran for one last season, which was split into two parts like the prior three seasons, after Danny Masterson got fired from the show.

I never saw this coming. I was always impressed by Ashton for defending children/assault victims but turns out his morality changes when its his friend committing the crime
Perhaps he just really really believes he might be innocent, defending him doesn't necessarily mean he's defending an abuser knowingly it could mean he trusts he's not actually guilty. I don't see why commiting a life to rescuing people from sexual trafficking would be completely undermined by a wrongdoing like this, he's defending his friend, not someone like Bill Cosby. Ashton stopped working with thron a few years ago. There used to be a Hot Ones interview with him that is now deleted, where he said he had to step down due to "messing with the wrong people". And/or getting into a situation too deeply. He has not talked about Thorn at all since he has stepped down. This was the only public statement & it was taken down by Hot Ones probably by request of him.

Wow, judgmental are we? Listen I have a friend of 45 years and if she were accused of something horrific, I would have a very hard time believing it. They have the right to their opinions! And, that does not mean that because their hearts are big and they are against child abuse and donate to causes for such, that they had to believe that their friend was guilty of the same. So, that being said, I still have the utmost respect for the Kutchers and what they do!
uh no the situation is a bit different, Kutcher knew and acknowledged what his friend did and was asking for a more lenient sentencing, not that they had a hard time believing it. nowhere in the letter did it state that they believed that their friend didn't r*pe multiple women, they're trying to advocate for his apparently 'good' character to lessen his prison time. still have the right to their opinions tho, yes
Ashton is said to have called his agent after seeing "spilled wine" through the door when he arrived to pick up his friend. Never called the cops, the wine story came out later and has never seemed like anything but a lie. He did the murder gag in the hotel AFTER finding his own murdered friend's body.
she wasn’t his girlfriend, they were just dating but still - he should have shown more care for her welfare. Plus, if he hadn’t shown up so late, she might still be alive today. Celebrities can be so selfish sometimes - idk if it is from all the adulation they are used to getting. Who knows.
As someone who has dealt with having a close friend commit murder and as a friend of a murder victim, I can relate to Kutcher’s choices. You instinctively want to believe that your longtime friends are the people you know and it takes a while to wrap your head around their actions. Kutcher has done a lot of good in the world and deserves some grace for that imo.
I know where your coming from however I’ll always support someone publicly if I support them privately ya know It’s what cowards they are that stands out to me
@DragicaOfficial He acknowledged the conviction. I’m sure it would be very difficult to convince yourself that a dear friend you have known and respected for decades was truly guilty. Or maybe you would see that your friend is a different person in the present and want to stress that to the judge since prison is meant for rehabilitation rather than only punishment.
the side bet / interview are crazy telling. she's hella young just being honest. but you can tell she's hurt but knows better than to push at that time.
It's not that uncommon for people to be wildly hypocritical when it comes to people they know and love. I didn't know anything about Ashton Kutcher until I watched this video but I cant honestly say that the letter you read at the end undoes all of the other great work you talked about in this video. If he actually did all of that stuff, the scales are definitely weighted further towards 'good guy makes a big mistake' rather than 'bad guy who outs himself'. In my opinion anyway.
Finally a comment I can agree with. All these internet jackasses in this comment section seem so offended like Ashton and Mila were the r@pists themselves when they were just telling the judge who Danny was to them their whole lives. He didn't say it was false rape accusations he just asked for some semblance of leniency so his kid didn't grow up without a father. My question is why did that judge leak the letters and who paid him or her to do so?
The letters weren’t leaked, they were a matter of public record. And that’s not ALL Aston and Mila did. They attempted to get a more lenient sentence for a man that Ashton even acknowledged did monstrous things and they did so KNOWINGLY against the wishes of his victims! That’s horrific imo!
Imo, it doesnt undo the good work but that doesnt make him a "good guy who made a mistake" by any means. Just because I donated to a charity doesnt mean Im good nor does it mean Im incapable of committing violent crimes, they're not mutually exclusive Neither he or Mila were misguided when they sent that letter only until it was leaked. Of course Ashton did not do the crimes that masterson had done, but he condoned and pursued action for his consequences to be lenient. I understand its troubling for someone they love to turn out so disgusting, but to still stick beside them only further shows how complacent and immoral they are because surely they wouldnt have acted the same if the crime was done to them.
@SaltyCracker402 terminally online people lack understanding of human connection. These people don't have close relationships with people irl. They don't understand that people can be close friends with someone for decades and not know about every other aspect of their lives other than they are a good friend.
Believing and defending a friend doesn't change what he has done to stop child trafficking, anyone who thinks it does is a fool and they should ask themselves if they would abandon a loved one.
ye i agree. its a very deep and puzzling situation. the character letters are from a place of the actors truths. The evidence is irrelevant to the time that ashton and mila had with said abuser. And for their apology i feel it needed to be said and no matter how they presented it people were still gonna think it was not genuine
@@carlberry785 If I say something and then realize I am wrong I will apologize but if I believe in what I said I would never back down or apologize. We will have to agree to disagree.
@jeffb5785 true however words can be twisted and with the touchy subject of sexual assault ashton needed to be upfront about how the victims shouldn't be discredited of their experience because of ashtons character letter. i agree to stand by ones beliefs, but as a public figure a lot of the time u cant be apathetic to a situation like this.
It should also be noted that Masterson’s victims weren’t children. I’m VERY SURE it would have been a completely different conversation if that were the case. They also weren’t women grabbed off the street and assaulted in a back alley, left beaten and bloody. I’m not by any means giving him a pass or diminishing his crime, but there is a big difference in taking something too far, plus being a jerk to stocking and r ing a stranger.
True unfortunately though his organization has been called into question. It’s not what it seems, he didn’t do himself any favors defending his rapist friend when he runs an organization trying to save children from a heinous crime. 🤷🏾♂️
I think the one thing I've learned over the past couple years is that human beings are inconsistent. Especially in illogical ways that don't often add up. People regress. People have secrets whether criminal or simply embarrassing and compensate for them publicly as well. There are tons of conspiracies going around about Chrissie's post and it's just weird. Who really knows tbh but informative video nonetheless. You're doing a fantastic job on these videos Patrick!
The fact that he also did “so much” to fight for child sex abuse and sex trafficking victims only to turn and just support Danny Masterson. No matter how “good” of a person they could be, don’t ever let that façade fool you to the point you put them on a high pedestal, celebrity or not, no one should *ever* be put on a pedestal because you’d really never know what could be hidden behind closed doors.
People project all the time. I'd guess part of him knows how creepy the situation with Mila. So now he wants to white knight himself to show how he totally isn't a super creep when at the time he probably knew it was at least a little problematic.
@@dakscar You’re not wrong, it’s the card he’s totally enjoying to play and it really sucks for him to still dwell into that card and play it out even though he didn’t show it physically, he still showed it through the letter of support for Danny Masterson.

Let's not try and undermine the work done and saving thousands of kids. This is his mistake to learn from and hopefully teach him more about these cases. But to downplay the work he has poured into saving thousands of kids while you have done very little is also dis- endogenous. These criminals will definitely be thrilled because this takes the attention of them and they will continue to find new ways to continue their vile activities. Danny is the guilty one here, he was the one found guilty and I am glad the justice system made sure he is held accountable. To redirect that anger to this couple is not right, they were wrong, and I am sure they will regret for a long time to come.
And when you look at the history of many of those "charities" that he supported it leads you to question if the technology was ever a attempt to end child trafficking or if it was simply a means of targeting the competition of the traffickers he supported.
It's almost always the same. Abusers often have family, friends, flashy social life style, charismatic persona. Many are manipulative master minds. When it comes to these people, nobody in their social circle can believe the truth. It happens all the time. That's what makes it so hard to believe the victims and the abusers know that... Thorn is a cause I'd definitely support. Huge respect for that.
You got this right!!! People are so easily fooled by these guys. Maybe be a bit more curious and educate yourselves instead of assume you all know everything because it sounds nice. We didn’t just land on here from outer space. There’s a reason for most things. There’s a reason why we’re privileged enough to have children, or why men have more muscle mass. Why females are more vocal or as they like to say “emotional”. We evolve to complement each other. That’s what equality is. Male species had to fight off actual predators and hunt for food. They always had shorter life span. Even until now, during migrations many men go first. So that their families have it easier. Women are more nurturing. We’re more verbal specifically to compensate for the fact that men aren’t. We wouldn’t have survived out of eight other human species if we didn’t use our own strengths. Females were always younger because their bodies have a timer that men don’t.

You truly never know who someone is no matter how many years you spent with them or seeing them like in this example. It is also unsure whether or not Ashton and Mila knew of Masterson's acts. Nonetheless, we can only speculate and hope that the victims have some closure after his sentence.
Completely true I'm sure neither of them knew the malicious intent by Danny offering a bet where Ashton has to kiss a 14 yo Mila and for the director casting agent and all those other adults thought it was a superb idea aswell seeing it was their writing staff...
they didnt have to know "who he is" or what he did, because at that point he was already tried and convicted with multiple people coming out. But yea, I'm glad the victims got rare closure. because rape cases usually never end in convictions
Not only that fact, but also that some people can drastically change either through experiences, trauma, brain injuries etc.. that they are completely different personalities despite looking the same.
There is talk about Ashton allegedly finding the dead girl and immediately calling Danny to figure what to do. The phone call was allegedly overheard by one of Danny's victims. A couple of creaters talk about this.
His friendship was more important than his own moral compass and the strong evidence of multiple criminal acts. Ashton obviously felt bad for his longtime friend but this is just another case of being way too loyal. 30 years is not harsh for this crime.
Absolutely. Now I don’t think Ashton and Mila shouldnt be vilified the same way Danny has been (rightfully so). It reminds of when a highschool teacher of mine was being convicted of the r word with multiple minors. Even though there was obviously overwhelming evidence against him, his wife naturally still stood by his side, specifically at the start of the trial. She and her kids were receiving death threats, she left her elementary teaching job, and moved out the state. I think it’s just a very complicated situation to be in, and I can’t definitively say that I wouldn’t try to support a close friend or family member of mine during something like that. It would be hard to process to say the least.
I don't think this should discredit the work Ashtons organization has done and continues to do, but I do completely agree that defending someone they've known all their life as a good guy and friend even when all the evidence has been brought forth is such a bad look and definitely goes against a lot of the morals they try to display I think people need to remember you don't always know someone fully, and no matter how well you may think you know them it isn't always who they really are.
@idiot_city5244 plenty I'm sure they always will it's not a new thing, but it doesn't change the people who were helped in the end. We all know as much as it would be nice if most of these people only help solely from the goodness of their hearts' but in reality, if there is monetary gain, they're going to take it.
Meh, some people value loyalty. It’s not a bad thing, just how their lives made them. Ashton was an innately loyal person, as can be seen from his childhood with his brother.
If he went there saw a dead person and called his team and went to a party instead of calling the authorities, and then lied in court under oath, that’s unforgivable, and I hope he prosecuted!
We love Ashton Kutcher. He has a big heart and is talented. He is a good actor. Leave him alone, sounds like someone is jealous. Ignore the nasty rumors Ashton. Many blessings and success for Ashton. ❤❤❤
I know a thing or two about the betrayal of the person you thought you knew. I had a friend who was religious, a community leader, funny, kind, all the things. I literally went to elementary school and college with him, but come to find out he became a corrupt cop. This is the person I called when some guy showed up peaking through my windows, and who came as fast as he could to make sure I was okay. A few months later, my friends face was plastered all over the news. I never defended his actions, but when people say they thought they knew the person they grew up with, hung out with---you only know what you know. We've seen this a lot with friends and family of. I remember this article about the daughter of a serial killer who said, my dad was very loving and kind to me, and that's the man I remember. Unfortunately in cases of rape, especially child rape, believing the victims is still a struggle for people and it can be an extremely hard thing to come to grips with that someone you thought you knew could do something so vile, but once the facts are there, it just doesn't make sense that you would defend this person. If anything if Mila/Ashton wanted to step up, they could step in and help raise her or pay for her future college, what have you, as opposed to want her to have her father who is a rapist be in her life. I'm sure there are better role models and other family better suited to the task.
Yes. It is the lack of sympathy for the victims (who Ashton also worked with) that really hits home. Being sympathetic to the perpetrator you can offer excuses for, but what about the complete lack of empathy for the victims who you also knew? What is the explanation for that ?
I feel the apology could’ve been more humanizing. Their friend they knew for decades, grew up with, being close to his family, it’s hard realizing and accepting that this person is capable of this crime. They could’ve showed more emotion, but if so, they may have faced even more backlash, who knows. What I know is, there had to be undeniable evidence to sentence this man to 30 years.
I dont believe that. This "system" is so crooked, shady and dirty I wouldn't put it past ANY of them. They place innocent people in there all the time. With circumstantial evidence, no evidence, hearsay etc. Prosecution chased a man and took him to trial not once not twice not thrice but FOUR times. Each time acquitted. In this there was absolutely NOT A SHRED OF EVIDENCE. NOTHING. Not a body, no DNA, no cell phone messages, no witnesses no nothing. They allowed a woman who tormented, beat, neglected, belittled, sexually abused OUT OF PRISON after serving only a few years. A woman who received LIFE. She burned a little girl's body with cigarettes, put a blow torch on her private parts, carved into her skin, starved her and got LESS THAN 5 years. There are men who are wrongly accused of abuse, rape etc ALLLL the time. You would not believe how many men go to prison over women who manipulate the system for the sake of notoriety, for their name to be known..for money..Ive witnessed it. It's sick. I've witnessed a woman flat out lie and say a man hit her when he did not lay even a finger on her. Yet the cops showed up and arrested him. What about the woman who STRIPPED a man from all he had. His life savings, his home and all he built from the bottom. He spent over 5 years in PRISON UNTIL......LATER when a new detective was on the case..they found SHE BEAT HERSELF UP. THERE WAS PROOF. I don't believe ANYONE. On top of allll that- I've heard women admit they have had consensual sex and then turn around and say it was rape..they claim he took it the "wrong" way. No. I won't believe anyone. I don't trust the system and I don't trust the wicked people who I know are more than capable of disgusting acts. People with no morality, no integrity and no conscience.
Actually the burden of proof for these cases has dropped to pretty much accusations taken as absolute truth. It seems to have devolved to the extreme, much of it because they are now tried in the court of public opinion.
It's wild to me that you can spend your entire life doing good things and making a profound positive impact on the world just to make 1 small mistake and have people look you like you've been the monster all along. A quote I like goes something like this "people rarely remember the good you did them but they'll never forget how you hurt them."
I know right... How about Ashton really wrote the letter thinking he knew Danny, thinking he couldn't have done such a thing, letting a judge know how you have known this person for 20 years. Danny Master is and should be held accountable. Ashton Kutcher and Mila kunis? Absolutly not...
People are in the dark about him. It hasn't been one "small" mistake. I have seen reports that his software actually helps perpetrators. Where was he when the movie sound of silence came out? They have rescued millions of trafficked people, including children. Yet, he was silent. Research who his friends are.....his best friends are self proclaimed Satanist.
“One small mistake”? Is that what you said? Great job minimizing something terrible. Asking leniency from a judge for raping multiple women, shows just how deep that Scientology connection goes. Masterson bet Kutcher wouldn’t French kiss a 14 year old and Kutcher still testified to his character. And that is just what we publicly knew. And as for Kutcher, people don’t understand the duality of human nature. You can still care for and do incredible work for people while also having a lot of personal issues. Everything isn’t always black and white.
@@gabe6646 you know what? I think that would be dope asf. I know there’s gotta be some amazing breakdowns (I love video essays but all my favs are in between vids) thanks for the suggestion 💜
This isn’t the first time that he’s even wrote letters for people who have committed heinous acts. Brian peck, who has assaulted actor Drake Bell when he was a child is another person that he wrote a letter for. It’s kind of hard to forgive someone after they’ve done something like this TWICE. He was even associated with diddy parties. The more I talk about it the sicker it gets
It appears these two are suffering from what I like to call "alternate reality syndrome," where something happens in your life that is so shocking, instead of processing it, you choose to hold onto a past alternate version where the thing never happened. I suspect that they actually are mentally choosing not to believe the victims, though they of course can't say that publicly as it could be career suicide. I think their apology is telling, where they insist that they support "victims," y'know in general, but never mention "*the* victims, I think bc they've made the choice to believe their good friend is still their good friend and therefore cannot have done this. Honestly I hope they see their therapists and confront and process that, not try to lessen a sentence so this monster can get out and pick up where he left off. I'm glad it didn't work.
I think you have a good point. It’s something everyone does to some extent with their loved ones, this is just an extreme example. It’s the same part of our brain that allows most of us to connect with an anti-hero protagonist like Walter White or Tony Soprano despite them being horrendous people. I think this is healthy when it’s for small things because it allows you to stick by people through tough times, but obviously for things like this or murder abuse etc it’s denial and misplaced, as you mentioned. Their apology video imo just made things much worse though too, so robotic and seemingly half-hearted, especially from Mila.

Bro he testified in the senate in a room full of the very people he is supposedly against. If he had any integrity and if he actually cared about the children he would be talking about how the US government is full of predators. Oh and he has been to Epstein’s island btw
He did the letter for the respect of the abuser family and all the good memories they had together. But all of us clearly know that a sentence cannot be influenced by a simple letter. He knew that. We know that.
I think I’ve said this before, but I’ll just say it now, I understand looking out for your friends, but defending them during sentencing for a rape case is not one of those situations to help them with.
so many defenders in the comments of not only Ashton and Mila but of Danny which is disgusting! saying because it happened so long ago maybe he has changed and learned his lesson. I bet they wouldn't be saying that if it was their mother or sister or friend it happened to. maybe I'm just unbiased because I have not watched one episode of that 70s show.

sometimes I think "good people" and "bad people" don't exist, just people that do both good and bad things. the second you starting thinking someone is a good person, your let down by something bad they do. this still doesn't stop us from doing the math in our head to try and justify whether or not they are a good or bad person; they did this, but they also did that and that's way worse than all of this etc. we hold weight and value to the good and bad actions and try to have the scale tip definitively one way or the other to label someone, which helps us know how to treat them in the future. But at the same time, true evil exists among us... no good lives there.
@@bureaffari3694 definitely. makes you wonder in a different life, born in a different country what you'd be capable of doing to survive. the scale of "bad and good" people is probably even weighed different in areas. a good person in a war-torn country could be considered a bad person in first world country for the same actions.
A friend of mine is currently serving a life sentence for murder. On one hand he did something awful that can never be taken back, but there are those good memories of my friend. Just because I donated to a charity doesnt mean Im good nor does it mean Im incapable of committing violent crimes, they're not mutually exclusive
Neither he or Mila were misguided when they sent that letter only until it was leaked.

Are you aware how much money those people in that organization pocketed for themselves...?
@idiot_city5244 plenty I'm sure they always will it's not a new thing, but it doesn't change the people who were helped in the end. We all know as much as it would be nice if most of these people only help solely from the goodness of their hearts' but in reality, if there is monetary gain, they're going to take it.
Meh, some people value loyalty. It’s not a bad thing, just how their lives made them. Ashton was an innately loyal person, as can be seen from his childhood with his brother.
Dang your content and layout are bomb. Thanks.
If he went there saw a dead person and called his team and went to a party instead of calling the authorities, and then lied in court under oath, that’s unforgivable, and I hope he prosecuted!
Unfortunately in some states and places its not illegal to not call the police. Like some Good Samaritan law was made later? I could be wrong
@@weirdshitcoolideas just as a human being, how do you go see someone MURDERED (stabbed 47 times) then go to a Grammies party?

Can you add the timestamp?
Patrick, I appreciate the hard work and details you put into these videos.
Their "apology" video was somehow worse than the letters. Makes sense why they removed it from the internet hours after posting it haha
We love Ashton Kutcher. He has a big heart and is talented. He is a good actor. Leave him alone, sounds like someone is jealous. Ignore the nasty rumors Ashton. Many blessings and success for Ashton. ❤❤❤
you need to wake up. do research. he and diddy, drake etc are all evil. they use these charities to human traffic
There wasn’t, it was literally just the word of women about things that happened twenty years ago being taken as absolute truth.
@@squanchdaddy4188 source?
@@yaboig5629 Yeah, he was convicted with zero evidence. It's messed up.
Actually the burden of proof for these cases has dropped to pretty much accusations taken as absolute truth. It seems to have devolved to the extreme, much of it because they are now tried in the court of public opinion.
This made me like Kutcher more, seem like a genuine, loyal and talented guy.
He's an incredible person.
This whole video just for a Character Letter. Man I wish I had the time back it took to watch this 😂
It's wild to me that you can spend your entire life doing good things and making a profound positive impact on the world just to make 1 small mistake and have people look you like you've been the monster all along.
You can help people a million times and you'll be a great person, but you refuse one time and they'll still call you a selfish piece of trash.
@@NemeanLion- I wonder what darkness it is that you are hiding that allows you to so strongly relate with and understand that duality you speak of?
The butterfly effect is like one of my top ten favorite movies of all time. Shit. Thanks for that reminder ❤
If you decide to watch it again, there are some very interesting videos on RUclips about it if you like that sort of thing and still want more
@@gabe6646 you know what?
Or they knew about it all along and didn’t say anything……
@@Von_Montyyep, exactly.
@@Von_Monty Why would they know about it? r*apist don't usually go around tell people about their crimes.

Him writing that letter makes me question the human trafficking software he's selling

even if he had good intentions, to think the govt is free from the sickos who'd use this to benefit is ludicrous. It's like Hilary's buddy getting in trouble for kidnapping Haitian children. We know where she works now, ain't a coincidence
Bro he testified in the senate in a room full of the very people he is supposedly against. If he had any integrity and if he actually cared about the children he would be talking about how the US government is full of predators. Oh and he has been to Epstein’s island btw
You people are nuts. Also, he's not selling the software.
Can we admit now that he killed it in The Butterfly Effect, and that it was a pretty damn good movie?
Ashton was very good in all roles, especially the two and a half-man.
Butterfly Effect was a good movie.
That movie was damn awesome, but I'm also a sucker for time travel movies.
YES I LOVED IT.
His best work (movie wise)
He did the letter for the respect of the abuser family and all the good memories they had together. But all of us clearly know that a sentence cannot be influenced by a simple letter. He knew that. We know that.
I think I’ve said this before, but I’ll just say it now, I understand looking out for your friends, but defending them during sentencing for a rape case is not one of those situations to help them with.
Exactly. Like how braindead do you have to be to write those letters lol
Yeah, far too messy an issue for taking the risk.
so many defenders in the comments of not only Ashton and Mila but of Danny which is disgusting! saying because it happened so long ago maybe he has changed and learned his lesson. I bet they wouldn't be saying that if it was their mother or sister or friend it happened to. maybe I'm just unbiased because I have not watched one episode of that 70s show.
you are sick and he was convicted so there was enough evidence. it's actually very hard to get a conviction for Grape.@@JohnRoberts444
It's something that you'd have to go with your gut on and if you aren't sure... don't get involved... sadly most girls and women who are raped and/or SA'd IRL are significantly less likely to speak out due to threats, ridicule and people blindly assuming they are lying thanks to stupid evil bitches who lie via 'me too' 🤬🤬🤬😤😤
3:31 “most people don’t know about Ashtons twin brother “ well I was most people up until this video 😵💫🤣truly blown away never knew he had a twin brother
sometimes I think "good people" and "bad people" don't exist, just people that do both good and bad things. the second you starting thinking someone is a good person, your let down by something bad they do. this still doesn't stop us from doing the math in our head to try and justify whether or not they are a good or bad person; they did this, but they also did that and that's way worse than all of this etc. we hold weight and value to the good and bad actions and try to have the scale tip definitively one way or the other to label someone, which helps us know how to treat them in the future. But at the same time, true evil exists among us... no good lives there.
Obviously some people are more good than bad and vice versa and pretty much everyone can do terrible things under the right conditions.
@@bureaffari3694 definitely. makes you wonder in a different life, born in a different country what you'd be capable of doing to survive. the scale of "bad and good" people is probably even weighed different in areas. a good person in a war-torn country could be considered a bad person in first world country for the same actions.
He co hosted a “Diddy Party” that should show you all you need to know.
"You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain"
What’s worse is saying “his family asked us to” as if it they were forced against their will.
