I love your sensitive reactions. It's like sharing special moments with a friend. Like me I know you've been through some tough times, which makes us sensitive souls. I agree with your comments, beautiful.
You just gave us that moment of silence as audiences give a act that has stunned them, just before the eruption of thunderous, standing ovation, applause. Thanks for that recognition of a bit of perfection slipping through!
It's good to see you back. You're one of the first reactors I watched back during lockdown. I think it was Jailhouse Rock that caught my eye. Since then I've laughed and cried along with you. Music really does transcend the years and distances to bring people together.
Another great song that Eva has covered is 'Oh Danny Boy' which hasn't been reacted to very much, but it is right up there with all of her more popular songs.
Hi James, I hope you're doing well! I hope life is going well for you -- I have been looking for you just about every day! I hope you'll get back into doing videos regularly -- you're very good at them! Here are some suggestions for songs -- I know you have a million people making suggestions, but I just wanted to throw some out there to get the ball rolling and hopefully get you uploading again: [I'm trying to think of unique and interesting songs that I don't think you've covered yet] -- Cecilia by Simon and Garfunkel, 1970 (a really great sound) -- Afternoon Delight by Starland Vocal Band, 1976 (As a kid I didn't know what "afternoon delight" meant; as an adult it suddenly made sense. This song brought this group the Grammy for best new artist, but alas they were a one-hit wonder.) -- Way Back Home by Bob Crosby, 1950 (This is from the younger, lesser-known brother of Bing Crosby. This song is not well known, but I've loved it ever since I heard it. It is just a happy song.) -- The Night Chicago Died by Paper Lace, 1974 (a story song about Al Capone with a great sound) -- Billy Don't Be a Hero by Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods, 1974 (an anti-war story song with a great sound) -- Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree by Tony Orlando & Dawn, 1973 (a story song and the reason people used to put yellow ribbons around trees to honor someone fighting in Iraq) I have so many more suggestions but I'll start with these. I've known and liked all of the songs your grandparents have suggested; these are a little different just because I thought I'd suggest unusual songs that might catch your attention. I seriously look for your videos every day. I hope when you read this you'll just pick one and turn on your computer and your camera and go... just get back on the horse as they say! Sending best wishes to you and hope all is well! -- Carol
I was apparently one of the few that knew of eva before her passing. A friend saw her at a blues club in DC, bought her record that she was selling out of her car ( well cds I think, it was the 90s!), and played one of the songs for me. I was blown away. Unfortunately I lost it when I moved and I couldn't get another by then as she had died. But I got songbird when it came out, this was one of my favorites. If you want to hear the story of eva Cassidy and how it worked she found fame years after her death and how England fits in and hiker boots! Teaser.
