I completely agree lay summer I tried to learn handstand practiced maybe 20 minutes out of the whole week, couldn't learn it so I gave up, fast forward 1 year to this summer I trained handstand 25 minutes every night(if I worked out that day I still did handstands later that night) 7 days a week 25 minutes a day, after about 3 weeks I dropped it to 4 times a week 25 minutes. Took me two months I now have a perfect gymnastic hollow body handstand, longest time held 45 seconds and I just now learned how to do straight arm straddle press to handstand. I am also to the point where I can on call just jump right into a handstand and easily balance 20-30 seconds. Practice makes perfect!
The timeline portion was encouraging. I'm two months into calisthenics, and I'm seeing good results from it, but sometimes it feels like I'll never actually gain that super strength. Knowing that I've got potentially another 6 months to get stronger before even thinking about these movements is encouraging.
Your series "five minute workouts" have helped me reach my goal in the summer and that was to workout 3+ times a week. Thank you!! Im really satisfied that i found a good workout yt-ber!!
I really enjoyed the video, you are really a good person and you are only fitness youtuber worth watching. No bullshit, no shit diets, you are just perfect to watch! Hope u never change bro!!
im not even too much into calisthetics. i am a bodybuilder and mainly lift. push ups and pull ups when needed. But I watch you Austin cause your videos are entertaining and informative. KEEP IT UP young hustler
Just found your page. Thanks for the content. I can't make it to the gym as much as I would like nowadays and these workouts are super intense. Just started calisthenics and I'm loving it!
Thank you for the explanation and encouragement as well as the honesty. I am 6’4” and weigh 240. Still working on getting down closer to 215, but it is good to know these will take me a bit longer to develop. I will keep working
People who don't like clickbait; literally this whole video could be summarized into three words "practice the skill." Nothing of substance was actually taught.
This is an excellent video and the advises are LEGIT! But you always should notice that these calisthenics skill put extreme pressure on you muscles and joints at once and if you do it during the day you must do a nice warm up if you don't want to get injured.
Nice video Austin. I think focusing on 4 skills is too much for me. So for now i'll just focus on muscle ups and then the juicy back lever.. But i still think your advice is really useful and it gives us an idea of how our workouts for skills should be. Thanks.
Hey Austin, what is your view on direct neck training? If you look at bodybuilders like Jeff Nippard or Alphadestiny, they have both trained and grow their neck considerable and look significantly more masculine and strong. Another thing you can look at is photoshopped Images of celebrities with shrunken down necks and they look a lot weaker and less masculine overall. I think it's one of the most underestimated and undertrained areas of building and impressive physique.
One off- "Dad" type recommendation - if you're not going to become an officer in the Military because your RUclips and training business is taking off, I would still recommend that you go to get a masters in Teaching and become a school teacher in a few years. Having health insurance and a pension is key and worth a ton of money.. probably worth double what you actually take home in the salary pay in the very long run (life gets expensive when you get older - and who knows when the online RUclips revenues changes drastically). Given your great work habits you should be able to do both even if that means 80 hour weeks when school is in session if you count working out as work. Of course, you're doing a rewarding service being a teacher too (but fitness also helps people immeasurably) Dad mode finished (LOL)
Keep pushing man you will to it one day. I just did a week of strength training in calisthenic and im planning to learn front after 4-5 month of training 💪🏼
Robin Drizzle thats what bulking is, you eat a lot of food and train hard to become bigger, pro athletes gets to bulking when they are in off season and when they get into season they start shredding
wish i would've known to wait when i first started, about 3 months in i attempted L-sit pull-ups, i didn't have the scapular strength to keep my shoulders in the correct form and next thing i knew my left shoulder was dislocated. i was back to square 1 after 3 months of healing. that sucked lol, after over 2 years since i've mastered many skills though! it gave me a "reset" sort of :)
Ash Ki Beat just dont be a pussy. I have a friend that went once to the gym with me and he didn't go after that. A week passed and i asked him why didn't he go anymore he said he waited for his muscle soreness to go away😂 you just keep training, it's hard in the beginning, but later you fall in love with it
Hi Austin. What would you recommend for an overweight guy to do if he wants to start doing calisthenics but can't do pullups? Anyways pls continue to make awesome videos! :)
If you are bulking and you train the skills and after along time you can do them for a few seconds, when you cut down later you will be a lot stronger and it will be much easier So what if is better train them while you are bulking🤔
Just starting to do calisthenics, and I was wondering if anyone knows how this can transition to contact sports like rugby? Will you gain enough explosive power to compete, or is it a completely different type of training?
i learnt tuck planche, L-sit and elbow lever in a month and mastered them in 2 months now am learning handstand, planche and human flag i need motivation
Hey Austin, cool video as always. One small question about the greasing the groove method: how do you implement warmups for sets throughout the day? Do you keep the intensity low enough to not need it ? Do you do a full warm up every time ?
I really appreciate your video Austin. Like you say if you are 6,1" + it's will be a bit longer to learn like me 6'4 and 167 p and i have 12p fat yet, at least.
Nice Video! BUT I just wanna point out that doing those skills randomly a few times a day needs some little warm up! Otherwise you may injure yourself stupidly. I'm not sure you mentioned that thing in the video even though I pretty sure you always warm up a little. So yeah since i had some pretty bad experiences while practicing skills that way, I just wanted to point that out so other people don't get injured... btw Keep up the good Work Austin!
Yo Austin! I was doing band assisted one arm pull ups and did something to my left shoulder. What should I do? Pull ups and FL exercises kind of hurt but everything else feels fine to do (hang, push, etc). Do I just take a break or do shoulder mobility exercises?
I don't have a pullup bar but in my basement there's a support beam that I sometimes do pullups on. Instead of fully grasping it with my hands though I have to basically just use my fingers. Will this make it way harder to do something like a front lever?
hey austin ...... i have a really annoying and irritating question which i tried and searched for a long time and didnt find accurate resultz .... so the question is that when you start training from 10 - 15 years and reach the age of like 40 or 30 years ... will you still be gaining strength ( and muscle ) and will u be improving at your skills ... basically will u keep getting better even after 30 - 20 years of training ? ( or even 15 or 10 years of training) ..... whats your answers on this ?
hit up an online calculator calculate your maintenance calorie needs count the amount of calories you intake, target 300-200 below your maintenance needs once you start losing weight after every 2 months do a couple of weeks of maintenance calories then go into a cutting phase again rinse and repeat never give up, don't be the 6 months later quitter guy
How do you combine skill and strength training? I mean do you do your skill training before your strength training, or on different days? And how much time does it take?
I have a question. I want to learn a handstand, planche, lever, human flag and muscle up. So should I focus on 1 move each day or other day after I recover ? I'm still focusing on 1 move. The reason I am afraid of just focusing on ONLY 1 or 2 moves is because I fear I may lose the capability of doing the other moves. What are your thoughts ?
Hope you guys enjoyed this info. style video! Be sure to watch the whole thing and take notes! Now go train!

Nice video Austin. I think focusing on 4 skills is too much for me. So for now i'll just focus on muscle ups and then the juicy back lever.. But i still think your advice is really useful and it gives us an idea of how our workouts for skills should be. Thanks.

Perfect! I'm 6'2,currently bulking, only 5 months into basic calisthenics. By my calculations i'll be able to do Front lever in 10years!😂
Keep pushing man you will to it one day. I just did a week of strength training in calisthenic and im planning to learn front after 4-5 month of training 💪🏼

Brother tell me how you deal with muscle sorness in the beginning.?
Good question
A.W Vlogs Rest and stretching good enough
A.W Vlogs like everyone says eat a lot of protein. Warm/cold showers. Resting and stretching.
Ash Ki Beat just dont be a pussy. I have a friend that went once to the gym with me and he didn't go after that. Bro there’s no need u can just use a weighted vest or ankle weights
@@street-workoutnation2964 of course you can i am talking about the ones that don't like any weights

@Keyno Just keep going. A month only ain’t enough. Took me at least two to notice just a little change. Consistency is key, as a wise man once said.
@Keyno diet bro

Hey Austin, cool video as always. One small question about the greasing the groove method: how do you implement warmups for sets throughout the day? Do you keep the intensity low enough to not need it ? Do you do a full warm up every time ?
Could you do a video demonstrating like 20 different advanced movements?
U can add muscle ups to that list for sure
how often shouId someone train, how many rest days etc
When's the Omarisuf collab coming Austin? #teamnocalves
I really appreciate your video Austin.
Like you say if you are 6,1" + it's will be a bit longer to learn like me 6'4 and 167 p and i have 12p fat yet, at least.

Austin, can you make a front lever/ back lever air walk tutorial? I can't find any anywhere!
yoo i liked this video before even waching it
Good shit
Yo Austin how often should u train to build muscle?
Austin ,are you thinking of having a meet & greet anytime soon?!
Not now.. starting back school soon
I trained l sit everyday for 2 weeks and could hold it with legs straight for 10-15 secs
Thank you
The struggle when you are picking up knowledge and watching what you love (calisthenics) while you are pretty sick and can't workout -_-
Oh man i know your feel
