I can’t imagine how much work it took to bring all the materials , especially the cement counter tops and huge heavy bathtub all the way there.
I'm sure they poured the cement counters on site.
I really love the spiral staircase, how the projector screen is hidden, bathroom, & the loft.
Beautiful secluded getaway. Hhhmmmm … those don’t look like “floor to ceiling windows” that are 17 feet high (1:20 and 3:08). Floor to ceiling windows go from (wait for it) the floor all the way up to the ceiling (not 4 foot by 4 foot) 😂
Such a shame to loose the ceiling height on the second level with their roof design. A standard roof with full height walls is worth the extra expense and you could use the attic for extra storage, etcetera. And those steps eat up a lot of valuable floor space.
All things considered, very nice set up in a beautiful location. Cool!
Not all wall mounted shelves are floating shelves. A floating shelf is a form of shelf with its wall fixings hidden within the shelf board, with no visible supporting brackets.

Maybe the owners of this cabin will read this - I hope so. Why do so many people build a place that doesn't include a protective porch roof over the exterior doors? Who wants to stand there in the rain or snow getting soaked while they fumble for the keys? And why a shallow step right outside the door? A deep, wide, welcoming porch deck would be so much safer than stepping out onto a one foot deep step.
A nice porch, with a place to put down your luggage and maybe a place for a bench - it would be a welcome addition to your home (which is pretty nice).

It never ceases to amaze me when they don’t switch the refrigerator door so it opens next to a countertop. I mean you'll always have something in your hands to put in or take out unless you're just fridge gazing.

I've heard the excuse that a door won't open fully against the wall... but if you're designing a place, it makes no sense. And it looks like there's room in this kitchen to move the refrigerator closer to the counter. 🙃
Perfect getaway if you really need some peace and quiet. Wondering why the soaker tub is a step up though. It does not look like there is a lot of room to place your foot when attempting to get out of the tub.
Imagine staying there at night alone... and then the power goes out 😧
Maybe there's a generator. . .or there should be!

I'm not a fan of a bathroom opening to the living room. There's also a lot of wasted space. I do love the surroundings and isolation.

Lovely tour of a really cool house. I especially liked the hidden TV screen arrangement. Too bad the tour was tainted by the mention of Elon Musk. Since Audible has so many biographies of people who are or were actually wonderful and inspiring, perhaps you might mention one of them instead next time?
