You have a beautiful home. The deck surround is incredible, gorgeous extra living space- this is one of my favorite designs. I have hardy board on my suburban 21 year old home and it’s an amazing product. We’ve never had to do a thing other than brush away occasional cobwebs in the eaves. The color is dead-on to the day we bought it. We live in north Texas where we literally bake in 100+ days for weeks at a time. The way you’ve installed it looks timeless. ❤️

You should use spray foam or mineral wool insulation around doors and windows. If not using thermal breaks around windows and doors. This stops the condensation from cold windows and doors into the wall. It's "best practice". Nice build. Those studs on front wall by door look cold. You can add extra insulation on outside and bend metal for faux column or beam to insulate it. Well worth cost over time. Or even get a post cut in half will help stop the thermal radiations from the mass of studs.

For such a young guy you've got a lot confidence undertaking a project like this. Where does that come from? I'm strongly thinking about buying up some empty land myself to one day put up a prefab of my own. But am scared to death about all the things needed in order to prep land, not to mention all the costs that goes into everything.

you should go for it! It's really not too bad, just break it down step by step and just know it will all work out in the end. bite size pieces.
