I didn't know Floyd Cramer was playing piano on this piece. He was one of the best back in the day - love his "Last Date", " Via Con Dios ", " Orange Blossom Special ", and many more.
@@pncombies Thank you brother Neal. I know man. Yes, coming back from Branson Missouri. Plane crashed in Camden TN (bad weather) coming back to Nashville. 1963.
Thanks Imadrumming, I didn't realize how young she was. Just an incredible voice that reels people in, goes beyond any genre. Thanks Harri , someone mentioned it's not Floyd Cramer on piano here, so a different style.
Patsy Cline was the gold standard and her timeless, angelic voice still stands the test of time. Simply beautiful! First class song, selection and reaction -- thank you, Imadrummin and Harri!
Blessings on you, Harri. . .Old Man, here - this was the A.M. sound of my car radio. Patsy had a voice that only comes around a few times in any era - and the band members and back-ups just stood up and did it LIVE - NO AutoTune, NO pitch correction, primitive mics and electronics that had vacuum-tubes. . .and it was GREAT. Timeless sound for those who understand what they are hearing. THANKS for keeping the great ones ALIVE FOREVER. 🙏🏻👊🫶🏿
No auto-tune, no gimmicks, no secrets, just outstanding talent. Patsy was so good at what she did. Because she was country, during her time, people then knew how good she was. She became the standard for women's country music. Excellent review. Thank you.
never was a big country music guy - more rock and metal. BUT - patsy was exceptional and regardless of what genre you liked you could not help but love that voice. gone at 30 years old in yet another plane crash that took many musical legends to the next world. so sad.
Beautiful rendition. Love it. Thanks Harri. That beautiful piano is probably being played by Floyd Cramer. He has his own creation called Last Date. Look for it., it’s gorgeous
Just an absolute gorgeous singer . I never get tired listening to her songs . So sad she was taken so soon . Thank you Harri and as usual your perfect reaction just great .
In the South where I'm from we had Patsy Cline you might say the Judy Garland of the North I'm extremely proud of her rendition of my home state "Tennessee Waltz
"I Fall to Pieces" was Patsy's first single after she signed directly with Decca Records. Her previous recordings were with 4-Star Records with a licensing agreement with Coral/Decca Records. The piano on "I Fall to Pieces" was played by session musician Hargus "Pig" Robbins. Subsequent recordings had Floyd Cramer on piano. Cramer's signature slip note style of playing is what stands out on songs such as "Crazy", "She's Got You", and "Sweet Dreams".
I've been a fan of Patsy Cline since the age of ten, when I saw her on the Arthur Godfrey Talent Scouts television Special and she sang, "Walking After Midnight and Leaving On Your Mind." I continued following her career and she just was so talented. I introduced my children and my Granddaughter to Patsy Cline's music. My all time favorite songs from Ms. Cline is "Crazy & I fall to pieces." She will forever remain in our hearts. There's a Biopic movie depicting her life called "Sweet Dreams,' starring Jessica Lange as Patsy Cline ❤
Now that is country music, I can remember seeing her live on TV . Watch Leanne Rhymes " Blue" song was written for Patsy , but she was killed in a plane crash before she could record it. The songwriter put it away till he heard Leanne sing.
One of Patsy's most beautiful, emotional and nostalgic songs that remains relevant to this day. Thanks Harri and Imadrummin for a great choice and review. ❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦
@Cynthia... Hi Cynthia. Coping with a bump in the old age road that scrambled my brain a little. But trying to get it together. I kept listening but couldn't comment, but I'm doing better. ❤️❤️
@@marybaillie8907 Debbie and I have been wondering where you went and a lot of other people. We missed your wonderful input , but I’m glad you’re OK now. Yes we do go through a little bump here and there as we get older but I hope you’re OK so happy you’re back ❤️❤️
Those crisp, clear notes pierce your soul! And Patsy is the perfect example of the old adage that only the good die young, as she was tragically killed when her plane crashed as she returned home to Nashville from a benefit concert in Missouri. She was only 30 years old!
Great choice Imadrummin. Patsy Cline has the kind of voice that is rare. It is so pure and smooth. It is her voice without the help of autotune. Great analysis and reaction Harri! I throughly enjoyed this reaction
A wonderful Patsy Cline classic. Thanks, Harri. If you haven't done so already, you should check out the amazing Linda Ronstadt's cover of this song. Different but beautiful, and with lots of heavy pedal steel in it.
Thanks, harri, I'm sitting outside listening to the fireworks, it's American indepence day, and you could not played a greater American voice than Patsy!
Oh man, this song makes me pine for washing down a shot of whiskey with a beer at a pool hall in Tulare. You're right Harri, the interplay between the pedal steel and the piano is a really nice touch.
Fantastic. Coincidentally, I requested a cover of this by another one of our favorites this month. I love both versions and they’re my favorites of all the covers I have heard. Thanks Harri and Imadrummin (great minds think alike😂) 🌺✌️
Absolutely Debbie!!I haven't listened to the version you are submitting later this month. I can't wait until Harri does it. I'm sure it won't disappoint.👍
In "the biz" they call that piano the "teardrop piano". It was largely used in that era. Frankie Lymon's ballads feature the "teardrop piano" similarly.
Linda Ronstadt covered Patsy Cline‘s crazy and I fall to pieces. I don’t love the job. She did on crazy but I think she did the best job on I fall to pieces.
I've always considered Patsy Cline the best voice in country music. Haunting sound in every song. So sad that she died so young. What would have been her future? A great loss to the music world.
Please listen to an older Patsy Cline song call "If I could see the world through the eyes of a child". It is from her earlier career but, a beautiful song and I think only she was able to do it justice.
You might want to hear some of her faster songs. Not that these songs aren't beautiful they are her slow songs are really beautiful but to see her singing ability maybe you want to check out her singing "San Antonio Rose" amd her version of"lovesick blues ".
I'm not sure but that tinkling piano you love might be the great Floyd Kramer who was a Nashville session pianist and had a lot of instrumental hits in the 60s and 70s.
Boomer here. She's one of the all- time greatest and one of my all-time favorites ❤!! Thankyou, Harri, for this one 😍.
Gen X here. My boomer mom played Patsy all the time when I was growing up. Always loved her music. One of the greatest voices ever.
There are not enough words to describe what Patsy Cline does with her singing voice!
Patsy's voice is as smooth as satin. Love the Jordanaires backing her as well as the legendary Floyd Cramer on the keys.
Hargus "Pig" Robbins is on piano for this track.
I didn't know Floyd Cramer was playing piano on this piece. He was one of the best back in the day - love his "Last Date", " Via Con Dios ", " Orange Blossom Special ", and many more.
One of my all time favorite female singers.
On of the best,no doubt. I feel like going out and buying a cowboy hat
What a beautiful voice and beautiful human being Patsy Cline was. Only 30 years old. Such a tragic loss for all of us. 🙏🙏🙏
Only 30-years-old! So many iconic musicians taken too soon. Wonderful selection, brother -- Happy 4th!

Her vocal inflections and nuances are masterful and wondrous. She has almost no equal.

Patsy Cline's voice is like warm honey! Although a few have come close, there hasn't been a voice like hers before or since.
Everything about the recording is fabulous
Her life was somewhat tragic
Patsy's one of my favorite.
I'm having all of Patsy Clines songs played at my funeral. I love this legend.
