She's been gone now for 61 yrs! Patsy is still being discovered & continues to sell music! New fans love Patsy almost as much as us older fans. One of the greatest female voices.
Released in 1963, this beautiful tune, was one of her last recorded songs before she died. She heard the original recorded by Canadian Joyce Smith, in 1962, and decided to release her version. Her powerful and soulful voice, producing such raw emotions that draws the listeners into the pain with such beautiful orchestral backing. In 1973, she was the first female inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. The instrumention escalates this tune to absolute perfection. Great reaction Harri, I'm thinking it might be the great pianist Floyd Cramer who accompanied Patsy on this tune. Thanks, Harri and Sharla. Cheers from Canada. 🇨🇦
Floyd Cramer was the pianist for most of Patsy's hits. His slip finger style defined country pop. Floyd's greatest all time instrumental hit was Last Date. You have a great ear for music to have heard the distinctive sound of Mr. Cramer. His grandson Mr. Coleman emulates his grandfather's sound and plays many tribute concerts honoring his grandfather.
@@davidmckain7674 I never felt Elvis was bright enough to truly inhabit the songs he sung. He sang himself into the songs. In contrast Cline I feel does give us The Song instead of her simply singing it.
To me, Patsy Cline was one of the most talented vocalists of the 20th century. You chose this one to submit and that was an excellent decision. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful and terrific review, Harri.👏👏
When Patsy Cline sings it resonates so deep inside me that sometime I cry. I just love her voice. This song is one of my many favorites of Patsy Cline. She may be gone but she's not forgotten.
Great request Sharla! I absolutely love her voice. I also love the fact that she inspired Kdlang (hence her original band’s name: The Reclines). One amazing voice leading to another! What could be better? Great commentary. Thanks Harri and Sharla 🌺✌️
Glad to see you finding the songs and singers I grew up with. You find joy in the same songs I found joy in in my youth and still love. Keep up the journey, Harri!
As Jimmy Buffett and Greg Taylor wrote in Miss You So Badly: "I got a head of full of feelin' higher And an ear full of Patsy Cline There is just no one who can touch her Hell, I'll hang on every line"
Floyd Cramer played piano on a lot of her songs. I can’t help but tell you that you may want to listen to “That’s My Desire “ & “You Belong To Me” She was so incredibly good, man o man she could just dominate
I was little when she die but my Mom cried. So sad.Mom played her records all the time. She did have enough music out that I have a 4 disc collection each disc has 27 plus songs on them.
This was the last 45 rpm single of Patsy's released in her lifetime, shortly before her death in a plane crash on March 5, 1963 (five days before my first birthday).
this was one of Linda Ronstadt's idols and she has a lot of similarities to them both, although I love Linda more. check out Patsy's version of Crazy that Linda also sang.
Harri, have you listened to Patsy's "Sweeet Dreams?" For a while, all the really good female country artists would sing "Sweet Dreams" usually at the Grand Ole Opry. Sort of a "right of passage" for these new talented singers to showcase their talent.. However, they could not match the shear magic of Patsy's version.
Be sure to check out LeAnn Rimes' version of "If You Got Leavin' On Your Mind"...she evokes the character and quality of Patsy's vocals while keeping her own style...
That amazing piano playing you heard was being done by the one and only Floyd Cramer. He probably had the distinction of playing on more records being made in Nashville than any other musician. If you heard beautiful piano sound on anyone's records chances are very good that it was Floyd Cramer.
Patsy voice is incredible and I agree Harri and thanks for your reaction! A RUclips clip about Patsy’s life: ruclips.net/user/shortsca86Uqa7sMM?si=P7M3plVXZB_IBkuS

Unbelievably beautiful vocals.
My favorite Patsy song. Thanks for reacting.

Pound for pound THE greatest vocalist of the 20th century. You are right she does have that voice from the wilderness aspect. Haunting and convincing.

I love Elvis and Patsy both and I love the rolling Stones
One of the greatest, most unique voices of our time--a country singer who made country more than than just country, transcended mere genre...
I've always loved Patsy!
I'm glad you found her. I remember when she died and it was a big deal.
I was 14 yrs old when Patsy died. Even after all these yrs, I still remember where I was when my family and I heard the awful news.
Makes me envision a road side beer joint in-the mid sixties.

It was sad when she passed. She was really popular. Everyone knew who she was and had heard her sing. I was 12 when she died. ❤RIP
Aaaah, very nice!!!👍
You'll find the piano in her albums was played by Floyd Cramer who appeared in many Nashville recordings as well as having a career of his own.
The Queen ❤💃❤
Great request Charlie. Wonderful reaction Harri!
I grew up listening to Patsy. She reminds me of my mother 💙👵🏼✌🏼

Lorreta Lynn was babysitting Patty's kids when she died. They were best friends. Can you imagine how Lorretta felt? She freaked out!

We love Patsy! Can you please react to the Sachil Studios' Orchestra rendition of Dave Brubeck's "Take Five"?
Love your reactions honest and sweet smile
