  • One New York mafia family immortalized in one of the best mob films ever made were the Luccheses. The movie: Martin Scorsese’s epic 1990 film Goodfella’s.
The December 11, 1978 Lufthansa heist, as it is known, was probably the most infamous caper in U.S. history. At John F. Kennedy International Airport, associates of New York City’s Lucchese crime family netted nearly $6 million (or $22.5 million today) in cash and jewels; almost none of the take was recovered, and only one person served time.

    Didn't know Gotti killed Tommy

Billy was a personal friend to Gotti and Tommy didn't get permission from the organization to kill him; this permission would've never been granted more than likely and he knew that.
Seems like the main beef wasn't disrespect about shoe shining as the movie implies (although it allegedly played a role), Billy wanted his gambling/protection rackets back when he got home from prison and Tommy obviously didn't want that to happen.
