    First reaction to the distorted tone: "damn that sounds good!"

    It's a 3 channel head. The clean channel stays clean for the most part. It doesn't have a gain knob. Channel 2 has a - and + mode though so you can get that "pushed" sound.

    @CatastrophicG I installed a loaded Billy Corgan pickguard from one of his signature strats. Pickups are Dimarzio BC2 (bridge) Dimarzio Chopper (mid) Dimarzio BC1(Neck).

    @TheEternalLeader It's pretty good, the FBV thing is pretty cool too but I'm thinking of gettting rid of the Rectifier seeing as it wouldn't be a loss considering I didn't pay anything for it as it was my dad's from way back in the day when he used to rock out.

    how do you like the Herbert compared to your JMP-1/Mesa setup? does the JMP-1 setup still hold its own compared to the Herbert?

    Hey bro. How do you adjust for the volume difference between pos1, 2 and 4 (pick ups) ? I have the Corgan set up and dig pos 3 and the bridge but the other pos Seem to be really low.

      I don't have any weird volume differences. I bought the pickguard pre-wired because i'm horrible at soldering. It may be a wiring issue on your set. Definitely take it to a tech to check it out.

    I thought that was pretty good, some parts still seemed a little muffled to me but not nearly as much/often etc as on some other videos I've watched, I've always wanted a Diezel, I have a Orange Thunderverb, Engl Powerball II, & Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier ( I want to get the Triple and see if it's worth it. ) The other guitarist in our band has a Soldano something & Marshall something, She says they are awesome, I kind of like them too but IDK, I've been using a Spider Valve MKII HD100 lately...

    @houseofglass21 Well i'll never sell the JMP-1 and Strategy. I wanna try the Diezel through the Strategy soon honestly. It's the best power amp i've ever heard. They're just 2 different animals.

    @gearslut69 Sounds great at low volumes. Better than any other tube head i've owned/played.

    What is the difference between channel 2 and 3?

    • @spguitar
      @spguitar  9 лет назад

      Jeffrey Fago Channel 3 has a lot more gain on tap and a more singing midrange for leads especially.

    It had KT88s. Now it has EL34s and sounds better. :D
