Thank you, I was worried that when we got to the more high gain capable amps that there wouldn't be any good heavy music representation. I was worried either it would be ignored or half ass'ed with just cranking the gain on some blues chords like some people do. But you actually got some proper metal tones for this. I was even further blown away to see boosted amp tones on both channels. It's not often to get those in big demo's like these. Please keep up the good work and I hope you can include more metal riffs and boosting into future demos even for amps that aren't built for super high gain.
I have the mk3 and it may have supplanted my old Bogner Ecstasy as my #1. Incredible cleans, I personally really dig the "rock" tones this amp delivers and of course, no other amp will project such a massive soundscape and stay so clear. Lead playing is also awesome and notes stay so thick and just punch out! I will say though, that to get the most out of this beast, you really need to try it with a Diezel front load cab. They really are designed to work as a system. Through my Mesa cab, it sounds awesome, but tightness wise, it is similar to an Uberschall or Reborn recto. Through a Diezel cab, all that huge low end is focused!
dont know why there are neg comments. must not listen to much contemporary metal, this amp kills for that. the in the room sensation of wall of sound this thing puts out is visceral.
Agreed. Hearing clips tells only half the story. Kind of like and SLO, you really to play one at volume to get it. The Herbert also feels really great to play under the fingers: I hesitate to call it stiff, although it is immediate. There is definitely a little bounce/give there. The VH4 is definitely stiffer and obviously the Fryette Pittbull is as well. The Herbert sits somewhere kinda between say, an Uberschall and VH4.
@@joeyperez6993 Absolutely man! The Uberschall is a cool amp, but like you say, its low end can be out of control. Very Recto like in a lot of ways. I have been paring mine exactly like you said, with a tight amp, for years now. Pair an Uber with a Pittbull or a Mark series amp and it just crushes!
Name one serious player that uses this amp? A guitar player, not a low E, drop tuned, 2 string player banging away doing nu metal crap or tool garbage. Its a one trick pony for bubblegum metal. Im sure its well made and built like a tank being a Diezel, but it is what it is.
Great work, dudes. I hope one day soon you'll add a couple more speakers to the mix. Particularly the Celestion Alnico Cream and the Celestion Alnico Gold - both of these will kill any ceramic speakers, any genre, guaranteed! The WGS speakers are also a great alternative to the same old...
Thanks man! There's a Gold in there somewhere, certainly in the 'cleaner' videos and yep an Alnico Cream is also on the (still very long) list of toys we want to try.
I have had bogner ultra and now i own VH4 2023 and Herbert MK3. For ultra thick huge tight sound this amp is THE BEST. And if you use an OD its completely insane. I previously had mk1 and for modern metal this version its way better: more tight, evil and clear sound. Even the channel 3 its great for thundering wall of sound palm mutes without overhearing the lows. And the clean channel is the best i have tried in a multi channel high gain.
great demo again guys! Particularly loving the V30's and K85 speakers with this amp. I actually prefer the tones without the boost, for me it takes away some of the signature of the amp's tone. seems to be quite a lot of clipping on several of the speakers - may be something to watch out for on future videos if a setting has changed somewhere!
Yep the K85 is cool, not super popular from what we’ve seen. No clipping on our end, must be a playback issue. What are you listening back on? It’s hot so if it’s a phone or computer speakers you’ll need to turn it down to prevent them distorting.
@@zenamplification I can imagine the headroom of those speakers pairs quite well with the headroom of the amplifier, I can see why Diezel opted for K100’s in a lot of their cabs too. The clipping was while listening on on my studio monitors (amphion+RME ADI-2 PRO FS) - it’s not something that happened for other videos, and only occurred here for certain speakers (T75’s, classic lead, G12m) rather than the whole way through the video. I can check again, but I’m pretty certain about the monitoring chain being robust.
So if you have a Bogner Uberschall, Mezzabarba MZero and Mesa Boogie Mark V, what amp would complement these well? Looking at Diezel Herbert, VH4 and Soldano SLO.
If you're looking for something different maybe a more Marshally voice - Friedman BE, Wizard MC, Bogner XTC etc. Out of the 3 you've listed though, well there isn't a bad choice although the MZero and SLO are pretty similar.
What's that bridge pickup on the John 5 Tele Voya is playing? The caption says it's all stock but I did a search and didn't see any that looked like that. Looks like a Bareknuckle pickup.
I that style of music, but the opening riff was KILLER! If all the kuckle dragging bands played with a little funk and syncopation, that music would be far more interesting. Don't know who the opening player was with the great guitar but he took a style of music, and tone I otherwise can't stand and made it a kick-ass riff. Kudos to him for being that tasteful! Not too many guys can do that. Very well done!
@@calestorer9390 You’re welcome Cale! Ha, pretty much!
Man, I know Diezels are constructed around V30s and K100s but the Creamback 75 really works with them. Especially the Hagen.
My amp of choice, Herbert and EVH are hard to beat for modern metal! Solid playing and great tones🤘🏼
