- Have you ever made a move in life and wondered if it was the right thing to do? And as a landowner, after you're poured you're heart and soul, and a lot of sweat and tears into improving a property, having just SOLD that land do you ever have any regrets? Well join me for today's episode to document and answer some of those questions as we are knee deep in the process of selling our Southern Illinois land and home and we are in the process of purchasing a Southern Missouri home and land! Meet the 'Oreo' buck, which was our biggest Southern Illinois buck that I could have targeted during the late deer season of 2023, as he was one of our regular bucks to visit our house food plot, which was in plain sight of our home, and we routinely videotaped deer and bucks from our back door. During the late season of 2023 I could have targeted the Oreo buck, as he really enjoyed my house food plot, but I was having some serious health issues, and I did not feel like deer hunting much. Also, I did grapple with the QDM issue of whether or not I thought he was big enough to make my 'big buck' bucket list so I opted not to go after him. But it was pretty magical being able to video tape the Oreo buck from our back deck. Oh, and as far as the rest of the story, if this is one of your first videos, we are moving from Illinois, and we have a signed purchase contract on a Southern Missouri farm, and we are literally knee deep in the land purchase process, complete with all of the stress that comes with trying to buy a multi million dollar property!! Yes sir no doubt! But the new place has a nice field just across the pond that we might have some decent action there if I get some nice new plots in!! ;)

Well, as the saying goes---“You live and learn, then you die and forget it all". But I know you'll be living the dream one acre at a time as long as you're able. At least in Missouri you can hunt deer using an actual standard hunting RIFLE.
