Congrats David!
Thanks Jim!
This is amazing. Nice addition, Dave.
Thank you
Massive congratulations! I would love an SSL console like that. Ironically, I type this less than 10 miles away from SSL in Begbroke! It was crazy to see the Neal Brothers logo on the crate from Reading down the road here. Looks like they handle SSL's global packaging. What a great job and crazy to imagine this thing on a ship across the Atlantic!!!
Cannot wait to share your journey with the new board. Best wishes from Oxfordshire!
Thanks Adam! I really appreciate it

Awesome Dave!
I guessed it last week when I answered a new collaboration to your question on the BIG Announcement as I'm sure Sweetwater is involved in this new equipment acquisition....your shirt in the video gave it away! LOL...
nope! not a collaboration with SW. I paid the full price like anyone else would. I wish they would have helped with this but they did not.
That console looks 🔥🔥🔥

Be respectful in the comments if you would, please......I already had to ban/block several people from this new channel....LOL. All hate comments are immediately deleted and no one ever sees them. If you feel the need to be disrespectful, just go elsewhere.
Awesome!!!

@@MixingMusicAnalog you’re welcome sir. Peace.
Very nice Dave , now I want one lol
You can have one! Can finance it like a car....LOL....that's what I did
Dang you must be one happy camper! Congrats!
I am very happy, thank you. It's been a TON of hard work but totally worth it
I would like to thank your friends for carrying that thing down the stairs...so I didn't have to! ;-)
You and me both!
Best of luck with your console.
I know what it feels like to take delivery of a large format console. Many years ago I took delivery of a D&R Orion Console (Made overseas as well). It was a fully modular inline console w/4 band sweep EQ and it took four of us to carry it down to my basement studio. Thankfully, like you, I had an outside entrance to the basement or it likely would not have made it down to my studio. The Orion weighed around 280 pounds, so a little lighter then your SSL.
All The Best.

Thanks Phil!
@@MixingMusicAnalog I've been watching some of your other videos with your set up of the SSL and boy do I get your journey you went through setting up a large console with outboard gear, cabling, etc.
I spend about 2 months soldering TRS and XLR cables and from there installed a full Star Ground System with a dedicated Grounding Rod behind my house. This way the studio was totally isolated form the rest of the house where there was no interference from RF, EMI, etc.
It was about a 5-6 month journey at that time, but well worth the effort.
I have, like you, a Hybrid setup. I am employing both an analog and digital mixer side by side, including a newly updated star ground system when I recently rebuilt my studio. I have a fair amount of vintage gear from the late 1980s and early/mid 1990s. (Eventide H3000, Lexicon PCM42, REV7, TC Electronic, etc). Thankfully, I never sold any of my outboard gear!
Love to talk shop with you someday David. We have very similar interest and have taken similar journeys.

@Uptown Photography, I would love to chat sometime. Send me an mail via my website and we can set up a Zoom call. I love talking shop with others! I always learn something
Awesome 😎
Thanks 🤗
Talk about a “Labor of Love”!!!
It really is. What a learning experience
Congrats man! Thanks for sharing the experience too! Are you pleased with the purchase?
Yes I am!
Wow.......she's a beauty!!!!
Thanks Troy
A saws-all with a wood & nail demo blade would have made a quick and easy job with clean cuts for disassembly... little late I know. Sweet package!
Thanks for the tips!
It's wonderful.I only wish I could own one.
YOU can! simple monthly payments, just like a car payment
Wow,, Stairs and a doorway. I'm checking for hernias on me from just watching! LOL Looks a lot smaller in these videos that the one with you in a side shot sitting behind it.. I want one now!
It was HEAVY! I would not want to move that again anytime soon!
That’s a big investment!
It certainly is, but its a lot of fun
This was quite exciting… nice to see the actual size of the shipping container!
I’ve watched most of your (future) videos of the installation and set up… forgive if you’ve answered this question already.
Did you ever consider the Audient ASP 8024 HE? … From what I can tell for new consoles in this price range. We have SSL Origin, Audient 8024 he, and Trident 88, 78. I’ve eliminated the Trident due to lack of reviews / information and ascetic reasons, but I’m still interested in the Audient… 24 busses, 14 auxes…. And the SSL
Can you tell me which factors lead you to deciding on the SSL? I realize you’ll be using this for mixing primarily. My interest is in both mixing and tracking…
Thank you!
I did consider an Audient 8024. The Origin has 32 fader vs 24 on the Audient. For me, SSL has great customer support where they spent a lot of time with me prior to purchase answering questions etc. I was able to easily reach them over in England and speak to them.
The other considering factor is the fact that from a business perspective the SSL is going to add more "prestige" and will attract more clients. Everyone has heard of SSL. It has a long legendary history and reputation. 90% of every commercial record heard from the 70's-90's has been mixed on an SSL desk. It has that "sound" that people know and will pay for. I can't say that about an Audinet, at least in my opinion. Lastly, to be perfectly honest, for future resale value the SSL will hold far more than an Audinet console.
So for me is was simple. I wanted one of the Big 3 console brands.....SSL, NEVE or API. For this amount of money, anything other than that did not make sense to me. However, I am sure there are many Audinet owners that would 100% disagree with everything I said here and that is totally valid and I respect their choice.
I suppose those who tuned out on your other channel did so because they simply could not afford the hardware. They definitely won't be able to process a $50K console. Congratulations on your success! That SSL is beautiful! I'm an API/Helios guy myself.
That's why I started a 2nd channel. Now, there is something for everyone.

wow nice..
Thank you very much!
They blanket wrapped my Api 3208 in like 15 minutes,an then it was to shipped to Texas easy peazy
NICE!!! Congrats.
When i sold my api 3208 they came and blanket wrapped it ,then off to texas
Good luck in Texas!!
@@MixingMusicAnalog I almost sold it here, but he decided to go with a preowned ssl duality
Sweet console! I wonder, if one has a 24-track machine AND a DAW-based system, can both of them be used with the Origin?
I would think so
I remember watching this video a while back, very interesting. I just wondered…..let’s say you powered it up and one single preamp or whatever didn’t work. What would SSL do? Would they send someone out to fix it , surely you wouldn’t send it back for a service or something?
LOL...well I would hope they would send out a tech. It would be a challenge to send back a 400lb console...LOL
Enjoy!
Thank you!!
I uncrated and installed my Origjn completely on my own ….. that required some creativity, I can tell you!
Nice work!
How much was the board?
How Much did BTX and SSL Charge to Ship and Deliver the item?
$49,500 shipped
How would you say stacks up to older classics like the 4000?
More reliable, cheaper to operate, smaller in size. I would buy this over a vintage 4000 any day but that is just my opinion
@@MixingMusicAnalog that’s awesome, thanks for the reply. Gives me motivation.
Just installed my api ,i had the shipping company bring in the console 350lbs
Good for you! congrats! Which model API?
@@MixingMusicAnalog 2448
awesome but how much was the ssl mixer curious
check Sweetwater for current pricing
can you use it with the Apollo interfaces you have???
Yes
wha type of projects do you work on?
I mix for mostly indie artist. Every thing from rock, pop, country etc..booked 1-2 months out
Where are you going to keep that box lol. If you sell or move house it wouldn’t be much cost to get a new box made, compared with the cost of the mixer.
I ended up getting rid of it.
Super nice...
Cubase it works with Origin?
Thanks
Yes it does
Thanks again...how much was? I tried to find the price on the internet but i didn't find it..congrats for this new SSL
Dave - if I owned that desk I would move my bed into the room - Ian
LOL......I hear you!
ssl origin have daw controller ( protools feader)?
no
@@MixingMusicAnalog COOL !!
Mystery unboxing in the background at 2:26!
Thanks for watching!
@@MixingMusicAnalog Recently found your channels and enjoy your content. Congrats on getting the new board and I look forward to seeing how you handle it.
Did you buy it through Vintage King?
No, Sweetwater
Were did you get it from
Sweetwater
So, it weighs about the same as a B3.
I guess it does. Heavy!
Let us know if there is an increase in the electric bill😃🤞🏼
Actually, the new consoles do not take up any more power than a desktop computer and they also have a "sleep" mode as well.
@@MixingMusicAnalog ok cool, I know that Warren Huart Produce like a Pro guy says his electric bill is around $1500 a month bc of his SSL console & running all that equipment with it. He has a old ssl console tho.
I’m not jealous! Your jealous!! Lol
LOL....
What do these things cost?
under $50K
Sooo....what gear are u getting rid of? Hmmmmmm?
None really...
how many channels actually?
Not sure what you mean. the console is 64 in/out
@@MixingMusicAnalog wow...all stereo channels, right? may i ask how much does it cost?
Finally found the original video. Congrats. Take good care of it or karma will get you loll.
Thank you, I will
It took us 8 people and we all barely lifted it.
LOL....now I feel better!
With the over head, how does anyone make a living, or even pay back these expenses, from a recording studio revenue?!? $45/hr …few sessions per week…i don’t understand. heck of a day job or lottery?
$45 per hour? LOL......not even close. I would not even turn the lights on for $45 per hour. This console is already making enough to pay for itself and its only been a few months.
And !!! People are so jealous. Forgive that “sht” people. Life returns everything ever. Go !!🙌
Thanks for watching!
Congrats!!
Thanks very much!
