My hubby won’t eat anything called “casserole” so I learned years ago to call it a “bake” instead. Pizza Bake. Potato Bake. Taco Bake. He gobbles them up. Haha!!
so smart lol!!
Perfect! Lol
🤣
😂😂
Genius! I usually call mine slop.
I love the fact that you seem to cook with an "ahhh this'll work.... it'll be fine" kind of attitude like I do 🤣 subscribed.
Ok but hear me out... crushed potato chips on the hot chicken salad!
Yes!!
😂OK, you pulled me back in with the whole scooping it out with the jar and ladle.
My mother in law taught me years ago to use a cereal bowl….boy, is that a time saver!
I never tasted a casserole until I started making them when I got married in 1973! I am basically vegetarian these days, but these recipes look wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
I LOVE stove top stuffing! I use it in several of my casseroles. What I absolutely hate is panko bread crumbs. Funny how people's tastebuds are so different. (correction…it is Pepperidge Farms herb stuffing that I use)
I always start with that Pepperidge Farm stuffing, such a great time saver and not too salty! I add cornbread, sausage, lots of chopped veggies. My favorite trick is to cook it in greased muffin tins so every piece has a crunchy edge! 😋
Dry panko and shredded parmesan make an excellent crispy topping for baked Mac and cheese imo
Panko annoys TF out of… breadcrumbs are perfect lol… I hate that it became a thing and everyone uses them now
I hate stovetop…I don’t know why though Lol
I love her vibe and energy..the cornflakes part made me laugh out loud 🤣 😆
The more of your video's I watch the more you're becoming my favorite. Your recipes are simple but delicious and made with ingredients that I usually have already in my pantry & freezer.
I have tried 2 of these recipes and absolutely loved them! Thanks for posting these easy prep casserole recipes. I can’t wait to try them all! Please post more of this.
Bacon tip: cut it first, then fry it…much quicker!
Looks good but I’d have to double or triple these recipes for one meal!😄
Bacon Tip: While cold keep it on the cardboard and cut coming from the bottom up or top, your preference next thing is my preference of knives. LOL I don't use a knife, I use my pizza cutter. Oh so fast.
Christine, I made the Chicken Broccoli Lasagna tonight and we LOVED it! That sauce is so easy and SO tasty!!! We substituted a bag of frozen cheese ravioli (thawed) instead of the noodles. It was a 10 out of 10!
Finally, someone else who uses celery tops besides me! Love the tops. I buy Celery based on the tops!!!
I use them when I make soups and chicken and dumplings. They really are so tasty and impart flavor!
Same!!
I have always HATED stove top stuffing, but you are the first person I have ever heard say the same.
Your movie references crack me up, not sure how you use them without laughing.
I love your sense of humor, your b roll, your narration. You are hilarious! Frugal Mom, my new bestie!
Girl that is something I do, overfill and grab what ever to make it work to fix it. You are a real home cook. Tks don't change!
These look like casseroles we would eat. Thanks a bunch. It’s always good t add to my repertoire.
Definitely love the dinner ideas!
My husband hates anything called a casserole. 🙄 he also hates stovetop lol I love casseroles and stovetop haha
I changed your lasagna noodles to rigatoni and used swiss cheese shreds instead of parm, voila... chicken cordon Bleu casserole.
It definitely reminded my of chicken cordon bleu... this was one of my mom's go-tos when I was growing up.
When I was in college, we had a stuffing-making contest one Thanksgiving. There were six entries and most of them were 'grandma's recipe' - some with sausage, some with chestnuts, or apples, or whatever. Everyone was talking up their recipes all week. We brought Stove Top. Everyone loved it - we won the contest. I would have to say I do love salt, so the fact that you find it salty doesn't surprise me. But I love Stove Top Stuffing to this day.
I love the broccoli ham lasagne dish.....great idea.
I feel like any meal with 2 or more meats seems super fancy. Going to try all of these.
“…It’s like chicken pot pie, married a ham tetrazzini and have broccoli babies!!” 😂🤣😁😆😆🤩🥳🥰 Loved it!!!
yum.
My dad hated casseroles and my mother made delicious casseroles! What he said was I don't like mixtures.
My husband’s family and my daughter didn’t want their food to touch each other!😋
@@carolynrodgers6836 my niece and sister-in-law are that way. They actually bought plates with the dividers in them so the food wouldn't touch!
My dad wouldn't eat them! Loved it when he went hunting so we could make one for dinner. All casseroles I've had are yummy!
I am so glad you posted the lasagna tip! Tried it this past week using a little beef stock I had on hand, and I loved how it turned out! No more boiling noodles for me!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Omg your videos are always so informative but bringing the funny references 🤣 Love this one as usual!
Girl you crack me up!! Love your humor!
We have a weekly supper/Bible study group. Casseroles are something that every lady in the group brings at some point and the men are always happy with them. Just added three new recipes to test on the group. LOL Thanks!
They ALL LOOK GREAT. THANKS AGAIN 😊
I did the last one and instead of rice I used bow tie pasta, super delicious.
thank you! love this inspiration. i can't wait to try the sausage/veggies recipe.
Would love to see you make a week of burger meals and sides that don't suck. Time for a change in my favorite go-to's.
I have always cooked my lasagna noodles, thank you for showing it , I was just always taught to cook them first.... even the ones in the store that say no cook, I didn't trust them........🤣😅🤣😅 thank you!! I will be doing this from now on! Love your channel, I have been watching you for over a year, you have such personality, so fun!! ❤❤😁
They all sound good especially the lasagna one.thank for sharing and also the tip. Bless you
I think egg noodles would go really well with the ham/chicken instead of lasagna noodles 👍
Crunched up Lays Potato chips on that chicken salad! The best! I will be making that next week. And that broccoli ham lasagna...I'll be making that too! Thanks for sharing the yummy casseroles. Love from Texas
Ohhhh yum!!! All of those casseroles look amazing!!! Thanks Christine!! You're da bomb!!!
I love watching your videos while cooking.
Nice! Appreciated the pan-whipping👏
They all look yummy! Can't wait to try the chicken/broccoli lasagna
We have made the Chicken & sausage Cassoulet a few times now and it is a hit in this household!
I love Casserole dishes! So easy to make and can last for a few days.
My family loved the chicken broccoli lasagna. Definitely a keeper in the recipe rotation.
Wow, I am impressed. You need to write a cookbook. Yes, definitely more cooking videos. Thanks for sharing!!!
I love this video! Definitely going to make the broccoli chicken cheese bake! I would love to see more of this kind of thing and more freezer meals! Those are my favorite!
Haha, my mom makes one stuffing casserole once a year after Thanksgiving and it is like the ultimate comfort food. I don't want to know how many calories... but oh my lanta... I look forward to it every year! Leftovers for the win!
I use Stove Top, as croutons, on our salads. Love it!
Hilarious opener. Thank you!! 😂. I have grown a deeper fondness for casseroles raising my 3 & 6 year olds since we need dinner on the table fast!! Truly, though, I had a stigma against casseroles growing up. I completely understand now why they are so necessary for moms. 🙃
Can’t wait to try some of these!
Definitely going to make the broccoli and chicken lasagna. Boy does that look good!
You’re killin’ me with the cornflakes!🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for the laugh!
Everything looks so good!
I appreciate this video, my teenager hates casseroles! I’m hoping these change his mind!
Love your practicality, humor and enthusiasm! Subscribed! Any chance for a plant based episode in the future? 😁🌱💚❤️💪
Yeah I ask for a plant based menu too!!!
She did a vegan one last year and it was good!
Can't believe I missed this one! I thought the chicken and ham casserole could easily be a turkey and ham leftover meal after Thanksgiving! Your welcome! Haha 😜
I love a casserole. It's nice and easy meal to feed the 10 of us x
Long time follower here. You had me laughing out loud at this one. Thank you.
Happy Friday everyone...thanks for the video, its time for a casserole this weekend...stay safe have a great weekend.
I love your videos!! Thanks for the great food ideas today!🥰
Can't wait to try it
I need to apologize for not thumbs-uppingmost of your videos. I put you on auto-play and listen. I'm really loving your tips, tricks, ideas and recipes and wanted to say thank you for sharing!
I have a recipe like that from my grandma. It calls for specifically Hellmann's mayo, I love using parboiled rice, and I add cream or chicken AND cream of celery. Then add melted butter to those cornflakes. 🤤🤤🤤 You should try it!
Crushed potato chips are also a great casserole topper.
#2- lasagna-I think I might have used a bit of chicken broth instead of water to hydrate the casserole though part of the appeal of your channel is the thriftiness so maybe water would suffice. But I have a huge bag of dehydrated chicken broth from the survival store that makes a really tasty broth. Keep doing what you’re doing. . .love having discovered this channel.
I was going to say the exact same thing. Never use water if you can use chicken stock.
Yumm and thank you! Frying pans. Who knew, right?! 😉
You had me at 'sprinkling of meatballs'! Love it!
I never precooked lasagna noodles either. I like a firmer bite to my noodles. The noodles seem to take in the flavor better as well..
In my family we have also been looking lasagne for about 30 years without cooking the noodles, we just make sure we have lots of wet sauces to help them cook
Love all these recipes
Best title. Ever. My husband complains about every casserole so I need to try these.
See previous comment.
We are not big casserole fans but definitely going to try these..😃 thanks for always sharing great ideas
"And one can of Cream of Chicken... I know, right?" You are very amusing to watch, bc you think just like I do.
I made the broccoli lasagna casserole tonight for dinner, it was bomb I made a few changes like swapped the Monterey for mozzarella and added spinach. Plus I boiled the chicken so I could use the broth since I didn’t have canned. But that sauce omg your so right so much better then canned anything 🤤😍❤️ don’t stop making these awesome recipes or finding them. It kinda reminds me of those frozen breaded chicken things you get in the freezer section they came in two flavors broccoli and cordon bleu.
I’ve come to see that what Australians call casserole is very different to what Americans call casserole… Casserole here in Oz is more like a stew. We would call these “bakes,” or “one pan meals.”
2 countries divided by a common language! Lol. I love learning about these differences 🥘
@@Fiery154 me too! It’s so interesting. My mum’s best friend is from Alabama, so I love saying, “Roll Tide!” all the time haha. And we teach her Aussie things to say too xx
Omg, loved when you brought out the frying pan to crush corn flakes. Too funny.
This was awesome!!!! Thanks ima try them all
I am making them all! #inspired 💕
You make my whole day!! Thanks for brightening my week 💕 I can’t wait to make that hot chicken salad!
They all look so good !!
Looking forward to this!!
Oh my God I just stumbled upon you And your channel… So glad I did!! Oh I love your sense of humor and casseroles look pretty darn good too! 😉. Oh and I’m a home grown Texan too!! 🙌🙌🙌
frying pans! who knew? I love it. My husband and I say this all the time :)
a rolling pin crushes just as good, Love the video btw. Not a big fan of sausage but can work with substitutes.
This is on point for new casseroles to try! Thank you 🌻
Idea: lasagna bake, use defrosted ravioli or the refrigerated kind. Cooks much quicker. Just an option for y'all.
I have used potato chips as a topping also. When those crumbs are left at the bottom of the bag, throw them in a freezer bag in the freezer and grab a handful when you need some as a topping for casseroles, a filler for meatloaf, even mix with flour for breading chicken.
Awesome recipes. My favorite part was beating up the cornflakes. That me laugh. That just made my day ☺️
I feel that one of the issue with those who do not like casseroles is they don’t like their foods to mix or touch each other. I love casseroles and hubs not so much. I see he doesn’t mix his food’s. I often mix all my foods all together to eat……so I rarely make casseroles Thanks for the ideas 💡
One, these look delicious and I love casseroles for meal prepping for work! Low effort and comforting is key for a busy dinner.
Two. What’s with all the adult men who refuse to eat casseroles? Is this like the men who won’t eat crockpot dinners? 👀
Sounds like some of these lovely men need to feed themselves if they don’t like the food that is prepared for them lol. 😂💀
Loved the recipes but seriously the best part of the video was using the frying pan to crush the corn flakes. So funny! Thanks so much for sharing!
The chicken salad casserole, we like to use a pack of that $1 Vigo saffron rice, cooked. Has salt though, so low sodium cream of chicken (or making your own with flour/butter/low sodium chk broth/milk) is probably better.
Great recipes which most come together pretty quick. Looks easy enough to reduce too for smaller group or for 2 people with leftovers.
I discovered your channel by chance and I am IN LOVE with both your recipes AND your quirky sense of humor ! I especially love how you don't want to use canned cream of anything soups in your recipes; so many of the RUclips videos I'm seeing use them and I don't like them. Hmmm, next time I have to mash up something to make a crumbly topping. . . . I'm gonna use a skillet! (yeah, who knew, right?). Oh, and I'm definitely going to subscribe to your channel. i can't wait to try your Crock Pot (yeah, that's right, I call my slow cooker a Crock Pot) recipes.
Hmm..hot chicken salad..interesting!! Also, thanks for your inspo, Christine. I've been making beans & rice & little did I know my husband loves it..first time he said 'I love this kind of food!', I found out 6 years in our marriage. Eating leftovers now. We appreciate all your kitchen ideas!!
I needed this!
OMG!! 'Broccoli babies!!' Dying over here! Even replayed it and made my husband listen!! 🥦👶
They all sound fabulous!! Also thinking that the warm chicken sandwich/dip would be a great party food!
Stovetop is the best! For real, love it
I love the stuff! My family though...not so much. Usually get the box to myself, lol.
I need to try that ham and broccoli casserole 😯
Thanks for the recipes; gonna try the first one soon! 😋💖👍
Also, thanks for the use of the word "sans". 😁🌷
My husband loves the chicken salad they sell at Sam's. I noticed one of the ingredients was water chestnuts, but they're chopped up. Does give it a nice crunch.
