I don’t cook, I don’t have any kids, I don’t work out, and I’m not religious. But I’m a huge fan of your channel. Love you, Christine. 💕
I keep coming back to this channel as it feels like a judgement free zone...laughed at your comment sodasiren 😂
I don't cook well and I don't work out and most of my kids are grown and out of my house , I have. One 17 year old child left and a weekend granddaughter visit . I love her channel though. She's so real and down to earth and I love her sarcasm .
@@riasingh I agree. She doesn't seem to judge any of us if we can't afford what she can . I love her sense if humor too.
I think people don't realize how dense food can be when you're cooking whole food from scratch. Big difference.
I never thought of it that way but it's so true, pre-made stuff never seems to fill me up!
@@lalaprofesh So true!
Absolutely!!!! It’s filled with real food rather than the fake stuff POSING as food!!!
I call it "food-like" substances.
We do a combo of fresh & convenience. My husband does the cooking, so I figure that’s a good trade off. We always have a salad and / or a cooked vegetable with our meal. Our main dish is usually a protein with other ingredients. We have meatloaf, soups, lots of chicken dishes, occasionally a non meat dinner, like homemade Mac & Cheese. When we take a meal to a family member or a friend, the Mac & Cheese is our go to. Great meals Christine!!
That's because people have no clue what a serving size is! I was shocked myself to realize how many servings I was eating. We in the US eat way too much! 93lb loss eating healthy foods in proper proportions. Still a long way to go, but I'll get there.
C Bolton you're doing great! Best of luck to you!
Same here! I can started tracking my food and realized my portions have been incorrect most of my adulthood.
This is amazing! We have stepped off keto and decided to do portion control and watch what we eat instead of cutting whole food groups out.. here’s to the next 30 days!
@@savanahhumphries9257 thanks so much!
@@LaadeeV I know! Me too!
Everything tastes better when your Mum makes it! :) I think it is a universal law or something.
That's certainly the case with my mother-in-law. I usually hate mushrooms (it's a texture thing), but I clean my plate whenever she makes them. She also made this magical sweet potato dish several years ago that I still dream about.
Jenni Bell absolutely!
It's magic. ❤
Not my momma on Christmas Eve she made ham and it was not done all the way I'm like mom I need to get u a meat thermometer for real. 😂😁
It's the combination of nostalgia and not having to cook
I swear your movie snippets are golden😂
I agree!!!! I loved them and they had me cracking up!!!!!
Disney & Coffee 😁yes! “Nobody lives forever” glad I’m not the only one that quotes THE EMPERORS NEW GROOVE🙃
chickpea curry! saute an onion add two cans chickpeas some garlic and a couple of teaspoons curry powder a can of coconut milk let simmer while you make rice. Hit it with some sriricha and garnish with cilantro if you have it. BOOM!
Sounds great. Love curry
Sarah S
If you saute the onions and some garlic with a little oil, then add the dry curry powder and a bit of chillie flakes when half way done. That will bring much flavor in those spices out, keep stirring for a bit, 2 to 3 minutes on low. If it gets a little brown that is just fine. That is how we do it.
Now add all wet ingredients as usual. Notice how aromatic and tasty it will be.
This one's going in my book!!!
One of my favorite meals! I like to add ginger, diced tomatoes and chopped spinach too! So good!
Yes!! Also if you have fish sauce (and you're not vegetarian or vegan, obviously) it really helps with that umami flavor for the curry. I lovvvvvve me some curry! Especially the kind with the coconut milk ☺️
I just wanted to say thank you so much for your videos!! I've never been good at grocery shopping. I always spend $50 for one person for one week. This last week, I used your tips and I saved $20 on groceries, which was 33% off my order!! So now I have 2 weeks worth of groceries for only $40. ❤
Christine: we make the same recipe but I don’t know why hers is better
Also Christine: she makes her in a crockpot but I make mine on the stove
Hahahahaha!!!
I was just gonna say!!
I noticed that giant difference too. Hilarious.
Hey there and Hi fellow Kerr 👋🏻😆
I was thinking that too…that’s exactly why. 😂
I dont live in the US, but I do really love watching grocery and meals on a budget. Weird as is sounds but its my dream to do groceries there. 😊
Same girl, I live in Argentina and we don't eat nearly any food from her videos but still love them!! I also dream to just walk in a walmart there lol
I don't know where you live but you have to understand that these cheap prices mean garbage food. Like, I literally feed my dogs better.
I live in los Los Angeles and im blessed to live in the US. I also go to whole foods not walmart to buy food lol.
Not only are you organized with meals for your family, but dinner & cookies for a friend. SO LOVELY!
You're such a kind person. ❤️
Fool the eye use smaller plates and bowls. Works for kid’s too.
I made your crusty bread and put in one sprig of fresh rosemary (chopped) and served it with a tomato based soup. It was delicious! Thanks for the recipe!
Don't take it personally a lot of people don't understand what an actual serving size of food is those recipes look super easy Frugal and delicious I want to try that nothing soup
Greetings from a fellow Texan 👋🏻
Last night I made “what-we-have soup.” 😆 Potatoes, sweet potatoes, venison meatballs, and I dropped in some dumplings.
Thank you for the ideas! I so often get in a food rut.
I love chorizo too!!
I made "what we have soup" last night too. Mine was chicken thighs, potatoes, celery, carrots, garlic, onions, spinach, peas and corn. I also had blended some oats into oat flour for muffins earlier and had about 1/4 cup left so I threw that in there to thicken it up a bit. It's kind of a cross between a soup and a stew. I got a dinner, leftovers for lunch, and a big container for the deep freeze out of it.
Amanda Burger that sounds so good!! It was perfect soup weather last night where we live. I’ll have to remember to try spinach in soup some time! I love it with my scrambled eggs in the morning but I’m always looking for more ways to use it before it goes bad lol.
@@Ethel007 spinach turnovers , ricotta and spinach quiche, spinach ground meat and rice stew ....
This is my favorite thing to do, it’s east & just about always turns out good. + it’s an easy way for me to use up the last bits of something before it goes bad.
Sarah Hurley I call it stone soup, after the story by the same name. Sometimes at work after thanksgiving meal, we used to all being a veggie and one lady would take the leftover turkey and make soup with everyone’s veggie offerings. It was always delicious! I made a vegetable soup earlier this week just with beef and whatever veggies I had in the freezer, fridge, and pantry. It made a lot and was tasty. I put the rest in the freezer for next week.
I really have enjoyed finding your channel.. but I just have to comment on how great it is to see your kids so cooperative with you. I love seeing your daughter smiling and fun such a contrast to teens today that are pouty and grumpy.. love watching how you all interact..
Note when I did the 100% whole wheat I had to us 2.25 cups of water. You have to make it extra wet (wetter in appearance than you think it should) because whole wheat takes longer to absorb water. I also used 1.5 tsp of yeast and no extra gluten. Turned out great!
That pizza buffet with the longing music hits hard now....
That's because people do not know what true serving sizes are.
Butter freezes and thaws perfectly 👌🏻 for future reference so you don’t run out :)
Chocolate chip cookies tip 💖
Make your dough ahead of time, scoop them onto your sheet, freeze them for like an hour, put the frozen balls in a freezer bag and leave in the freezer for about two days minimum and all the flavors meld together perfectly.
I quadruple my recipes and freeze cookie dough so I can pull out the perfect amount for dessert whether that's 1 or 24! 💖💖
Also I'm from Gonzales! What part of La is your family from?
"Bookmarks are for Quitters"
I love it!
My quickest favorite meal: Left over roasted chicken (chopped/sliced), warmed in a pan/pot, bag of steamable veggies of your choice (or left over veggies) can of Rotel diced tomatoes of your choice and we add olives (kalamata) . It really stretches and you can really play with it. Takes about half hour to come together. I make it frequently with what ever we have left over. I've substituted other protein as well.
I lovvvvvve when you make a meal for your neighbor. It just makes me happy somehow.
I made your 4 ingredient bread yesterday, 2 loaves. They turned out perfectly, just like yours. Thank you for sharing the great recipe. MY 3 guys especially thank you!

I just stumbled upon your channel and I have to say, you do an amazing job editing as well as showing exactly how to use those pantry staples. I have so many beans in my pantry that I bought with good intentions of using but for some reason, beans intimidate me. Thank you so much for showing simple, tasty ways to eat frugally at home. I absolutely smashed that subscribe button!
