My ten year old son was sitting next to me reading Calvin and Hobbes. He heard your voice, said, "Oh, her? Nice." Then he ditched Calvin and Hobbes to watch with me. 😁
How cute! Also, I adore Calvin and Hobbes
Very cute!
My four year old twin girls sit on either side of me and watch “oh yum! Can you make that?”

The homemade pizzas unlocked a core memory for me. When we were struggling back in the day, my mom used to make us pizza muffins. It was just English muffins with tomato sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and a little shredded cheese. We used to love making them and they were pretty tasty. She told me years later that she hated making those because it was when we were poor and had the littlest of food to get by. I told her that while she was feeling like she was failing as a parent, her kids were enjoying making the pizza muffins with her, and we liked eating them.
Same here but my mom used the little canned biscuits flattened. Loved them as a kid and I never knew it was a cheap filler at the time.
We learn to make English muffin pizza in girl scouts. They were staple in our campouts. Once in awhile I still make them, because they're really tasty. A little dash of oregano on top of the tomato sauce does wonders
I channeled my inner Christine and finally scored a huge win on discounted meat this week at my Kroger! Ground Chuck regular $7.99 discounted to $1.99 😳 and bacon only $0.99 a pack!
That's awesome! I got 80/20 the other day for .99! I would be so happy to get bacon for that!
Awesome!
Christine, your comment about grilled hot dogs made me smile. I have a daughter who is 40 & she has Down Syndrome. One of her favorite foods is hot dogs. When we have she always says that she wants "a hot, hot dog". In other words, she wants the grill marks. Great video & I'm going to try the copycat Panera soup recipe. Everyone in my loves potato soup!!
All summer long we make all beef grilled hotdogs, bushes baked beans, and corn. It's a family favorite for sure. My little niece will steal beans and corn off my plate if she finishes hers first lol!
Grill marks make them taste better
@@kimbarbeaureads I absolutely agree...but not just grill marks... Smoke too. I use wood when I use the grill because it makes the flavor SOOOOO good. The grill marks make it taste better to my eyes and my stomach. Lol
I think that's what we'll call them grilled from now on: hot, hot dogs.
My brother used to ask for a grilled cheese, cooked! ❤️
Recipe . Brown any kind of sausages, place in baking dish, cover with canned tomatoes and diced onion shake on some Parmesan cheese cover and bake 350 1hr. Serve with mashed potato and veg😊
I actually tried the chicken rice baked dish - IT WAS SO GOOD! I never use bone in chicken but that dish sold me that it was sooooo much better than boneless! Love your videos Christine! 😊👍
It's so good!
I make something similar with a red and green sliced bell pepper for colour.
@@sonyavincent7450 Thats sounds like a good addition. Gonna try that in this dish next time! Thanks for sharing!
And you basically can’t over cook the chicken with bone in it usually stays pretty moist!
@@FrugalFitMom My mother always made this! She added uncooked rice and a can of diced tomatoes, liquid included. Love it!
Christine, this video and type of video for that matter, is SO very needed. Thank you for this contribution. I keep seeing RUclipsrs flexing on their channels with lavish expenditures. Spending THOUSANDS of dollars a month. Is that their right? Absolutely! Is that their right on their own RUclips channel? FOR CERTAIN. However, as a RUclips....consumer? Viewer? I need relatable content and this year has been my year of getting my poop in a group and living on a strict budget and getting my finances in order FINALLY. My usual go-to's that over spend and eat CRAP constantly I can't do any longer. I spend $30 on my son (who just turned 18) for Easter and I see YT mom's spending $100 on each kid for EASTER??? That's my budget for my one child for Christmas and his bday. NOT FOR EASTER.... But I'm off my soapbox. All of that to say, thank you for keeping it real and with the times. No matter your financial situation, thriving or otherwise, you have ALWAYS stayed consistent with your content. I am so happy for you and your channel and how successful you've become. You have taught your community and subscribers SO much. I appreciate you.
I spent 30$ total on my four kids for Easter! I absolutely appreciate the budget - and real- meals on this channel!
I recently watched a tiktok where the person restocked their fridge/pantry for 1k and it was almost *all* snacks and junk. It was really shocking and kind of sad.
Just finished my "Clean out the fridge" meal challenge. Ugh! Fridge was so full. Leftovers redone. 5 days..3 meals a day.. 3 people. Did not use freezer or prepped pantry. We did it. I now have that "ahhhhh" feeling. Fridge has been decluttered. Can't believe there was that much usable food just in the fridge.
These videos are like my guilty pleasure/inspiration/relaxation!
Same here
You can also do the Naan bread or pita bread pizzas in air fryer at 390 temp, if you preheat prior it takes about 3 to 4 mins. If not preheated than about 6 mins or 5. My kids love that pizza more than take out
Yes on the grilled hot dogs! Even the cheapie cheap hot dogs are SO much better on the grill. 😊
I love watching pantry challenges. It helps me think outside the box.
I have wanted to try your no knead bread for a long time, and I finally made it yesterday. It was, as you say, “ Delicioso!”
The chicken and rice dish reminded me of one of our favorite meals growing up...Mom would break a couple of leftover pork chops into bites in a casserole dish, then cover with a mixture of 1c raw white rice, 1c milk, 1 can cream of celery soup, and 1 tsp of rubbed sage. Cover with foil and bake. She fed the whole family with two chops and some garden veg. ❤️ To all the parents out there, making things work out!
We do French bread pizzas with $1 loaves from Walmart bakery, ragu, and whatever mozzarella we get from like lidl or marked down at food lion. It's super cheap and always a hit. And a really good way to use up stuff like canned mushrooms, black olives, that cheap Parm etc.
Thank you for showing this! The chicken mushroom dish was a staple in my house and still is today! Thank you for the recognition
Everything looked delicious and easy. Flavorful with your spices.
Rogue for president! I so appreciate your random recipes, inspiration!!
OMGsh that butternut squash saute looks amazing!!!!
These types of videos are my favorite. Gives me ideas of what to cook!
The meals are yummy and I love the music you use!
So glad to see you cooking again. Grandpa's chicken looks fabulous and easy.
I always enjoy your videos Christine! Thanks for sharing your humor and recipes with us!
Pantry challenge videos are one of my favourites!
In our favorite chicken and rice dish, I mix in Lipton onion soup with the water and mushroom soup, pour over the rice and mix, top with the chicken, generous sprinkle of season salt, cover with foil and bake. Yum! 🥰🥰
Every idea is great! I’ll have to watch again to write all the recipes down. Thank you!
These look amazing!! I'm making your homemade bread tonight it's still setting out on the counter until about 4pm tonight!! My daughter can't wait, it's her new favorite bread!
Christine - I LOVE your videos!! You are so funny and inspiring
I love watching your RUclips videos. It really takes me back to the days of bulk shopping, extra refrigerators and freezers and meal planning. I only had one son but when he was a teenager, he had lots of friends so there was always a group around at dinner time. LOL
Perfect! Awesome, haven't watch yet, will later tonight ☺️ looking forward to it. Thank you Christine 💖
Thank You so much for this video I need ideas you have help a ton thank you
Thank you so much for taking the time to share these videos with us. I love getting ideas for inexpensive easy meals.
These r my favourite videos, thank you 😊
Happy Monday!!!!
Love your nostalgic recipes
3:15 LMAO Tony's gets me every time too!
Good ideas!
I make that chicken and rice SO MUCH and it's always so good! Love that recipe!
I made the chicken and rice casserole today and my kitchen has smalled ah-mazing since 15 minutes after putting the dish in the oven! Tell your son this is our new favorite dish too (you mentioned this in a more recent video). Definitely deserves ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and will be in our monthly rotation!
Yeah inspiration.
Love these videos!!!
I'm trying that chicken and rice tonight! I haven't made that in over 20years. Yours is simple too. Thanks for that recipe and all the others too!!!
I make this soup all the time now (thanks Christine!) and I purée it some with an immersion blender. Just a bit to thicken - still chunky but thick and amazing. If you haven’t tried the potato soup - you should!!
That spice ALWAYS makes me cough!!! So glad you did too
Thanks again for your meal prep. You always give me good ideas for family meals. LV. NewJersey 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
We have made Naan pizza a few times recently and I LOVE it. I spread a little garlic butter around the edges and oh my it was delicious!
I just made slow cooker potato soup yesterday and it was delicious. I've never made it before so I just dumped a few things in the crock pot and hoped for the best and it worked out LOL
Love me some chicken and rice...always nice. Love french bread pizza. So easy was a treat back in the day with my kids. Thanks Christine.
The curly pasta is cavatappi.
I grew up eating a similar chicken dish. My dad made it in the skillet on the stove. Or the electric skillet. I never thought to put cream cheese in potato soup. It sounds great!
"It's just bun chaos...". 😂 Yes, my kid does this too. 🙄
I really love the carrot fries. They're delicious and easy.
I made a similar chicken and rice dish last night. Next time, I'm going to try yours. It looks good and EASY which is wonderful!
I am going to try your chicken and rice dish tomorrow night I love how fast and easy it goes into the oven I will be making it on a smaller scale as it will be just for me.
Our favorite pizza is now naan pizzas. I saw them in one of your videos. I even made myself a pickle pizza on Friday night. We are also going to do them as one of our beach camping meals. Thank you for the idea!
Thanks for another Great video!😋😋 Just Loove your content!! Will be trying the chicken casserole this week!
I also have teenagers, boy life can get crazy. Love videos like this, thanks for sharing! I'm inspired to go into my pantry now.
We’ve made a variation of the chicken dish for many years! The only difference is that in addition to the soup and chicken broth, we add a package of dry Lipton onion soup. It’s a family favorite as well and always good.
I use potato flakes for thickening, too, but you can also mash some of the potatoes in the pot or remove a few cups of the soup and blitz in a blender to use as a thickener.
I make that chicken and rice also except I add mushrooms and celery. I also cover with foil for half the time then let the chicken brown the last 30 minutes. Yum. Comfort food.
Life has been crazy with grad school, work work, and personal life stuff (I'm from Ukraine, medical stuff, etc.), so I haven't had a chance to watch any of your videos since probably mid-February, so it's been nice to binge watch a bunch of your videos.
Two comments: 1. Only way I like hot dogs is grilled, so feel that comment lol.
2. I make a similar dish to the casserole with cream of mushroom soup, it's so good, cheap, and easy!
My husbands grandmother made a similar chicken casserole and she called it Chicken Gourmet. It’s my husbands favorite.
Defrost hack with meat that works, put it in cold water
Did the chicken and rice dish in the crockpot, took longer to cook, but didn’t heat up my kitchen. Love the combo
My Mom did the chicken and rice as a easy dinner. Either cream of mushroom or chicken and seasoned salt. Very good.
Awww I've been following you since 2020, nz lockdown, you n your family are amazing x
I have an awesome recipe for a carrot soufflé that is out of this world good! I make it at every Easter and Thanksgiving!
Naan is the best pizza crust! Especially the garlic kind!
Yum! That baked pasta dish....
Yay! A new video :)
I love your no knead bread. I make it all the time. I also just made carrot fries for the first time the other day and my 2 yo ate over have of them! Definitely a new staple side dish.
I love your purple smiley spoon.
We do the homemade pizzas too 😊 I use pita bread and brush on some olive oil, Italian seasoning and then cheese and whatever toppings (usually just tomatoes) it’s soooooo good!
Just saw a video on how to make your own naan bread. Super easy
Family fave here is smothered pork chops. Season and Brown chops place in baking dish placed sautéed onion and garlic on top then pour canned mushroom soup over it and bake in oven . Have over rice and add a salad
That pasta bake looks amazing!!
It works in an instant pot too. I love it for summertime no oven cooking when it’s 100°.
We used to make mini pizzas with biscuit dough! Flatten out the biscuit dough and top with whatever toppings you want. 🙂
I really need to try those carrot fries!!😋😋
Ur rockin one of my fav shirts of yours.....that and the comma comma comma one are my favs
I'm so making that chicken and rice tomorrow. Potato soup is on the menu as well this week.😄 😄
I absolutely love your videos because you're so fun. Teenagers definitely keep life busy, chaotic and interesting.
As a fellow blonde lashed girl I recommended dying brows and lashes. I do it myself but salons do it cheap too and i went to many more no makeup days
I love pantry challenges! I just did one of my channel a week ago. It helped me save a ton of money on my grocery budget.
Pizza is also good on pitas and for thin crust on tortillas😻🌺🇨🇦
French bread or English muffin pizza is always a favorite, easy meal.
I also eat scrambled eggs with cheese for dinner all the time. I am always hangry after work, so it is super easy to make.
I have used english muffins, biscuit dough ( like the little biscuits in a can) and tortillas to make home made pizzas, mini pizzas are great for picky eaters.
Hi Christine when I have random bread I make bread pudding you should try air fryer hot dogs so good
Christine we love grilled Buffalo burgers but they are so lean instead of adding fat we add 1/4 cup of water per pound and they turn moist and delicious
I can’t stand when my kids open another bun/bread bag when the first isn’t finished!
I will yell, “Here comes the crazy train!” And then I talk about the importance of one single dollar. You’d think they would’ve learned by now, BUT I think they like hearing me chat about the dollar bills 💴 🤪
I throw left over buns in freezer and use them for making homemade garlic bread on pasta night or I grind them and toss in meatloaf when I can't find crackers.
Something to do with carrots, sauté them with a bit of oil until they’re half soft, with some hamburger and rice. Delicious Chinese comfort food.
I take leftover buns and open them and add shredded cheese and place in oven for a side with dinner
Pita bread works well too for pizza
Nomnomnom...YUM! 👀
Much love from TN ❤️
My moms recipe was called
Chicken on Sunday was the name of the dish - cream of mush and cream of celery mixed with a smidge of h20 350 for 1 hr delish!!!
I love that pizza cutter!!!!
I have made most of these .. but will be trying the airfryer 🥕... I always schedule a leftover night.. or if it's not enough for leftovers GFYS go for yourself Night.
I literally watched the finger-slicing video yesterday (for the second or third time). I turn on your videos while I'm meal prepping and cleaning for some inspiration and company!
That was so traumatic!
Everything looked so good but I am going to make the potato 🥔 soup 🍲 😋
You can make some cream of ginger and carrot soup. Take any hot dog buns you have left over: pull apart buns and spread with some butter/margarine and sprinkle with your favorite dried herb. Cut each half in half from top to bottom making a long stick. Place on cookie sheet and bake in 400 degree oven until golden and crisp. They are great hot, but good to at room temperature. They are good with pasta dishes, soups, salads etc.
love your receipes! will try for sure!!! You have now 2dogs? are they getting well along?
