- Mike Holmes puts Mike Jr. and Sherry to the test: which fence post installation is the easiest? Will Sika Post Fix prove to be more effective than conventional concrete post mix?
Sika® Post Fix is a two-part, pre-proportioned polyurethane resin which when mixed produces an expanding foam. It has been specifically formulated and packaged to provide a lightweight, mix-in-the-bag, fast-setting, and high-strength backfill for wooden, PVC, and steel in-ground supports. Sika® Post Fix is based upon Sika’s proven foam technology and designed for easy, convenient, and quick support of many types of posts.

I did my picket fence over 20 yrs ago. Posts are still straight and solid. I didnt mix the concrete with water either. What I did was dig the hole, Pour about 2 inches of dry concrete mix in the hole, tamped it down with the post. Then I set the post in, leveled it and poured more dry mix in, and packed it in periodically as I continued to fill to about 3 inches from ground level . It was solid as hell at that point, but I left it alone for a day or two. What happens is the moisture in the ground will be absorbed by the concrete and harden. ! No Mixing and mess. A guy who owned fence company told me this trick. And it works. Did you ever leave a bag of concrete mix in the corner of the garage and in time it hardened? Well it took moisture out of the air to do this, and you werent even trying! So, you can figure that theres quite a bit of more moisture in the ground. and it will solidify. No messy , sloppy, and tiring mixing concrete. If you want. ,as you fill and compact the hole, you also can just pour a little water in at different intervals to speed up the process.
I don't understand the negative comments. I built my fence using this foam and the fence is solid as a rock.
We dry set posts , pack them and run the fence same day. Water holes before we leave . Never had a loose post , ever
Used this last year to fix my 3 wind broken 4x4s! Love it. Gonna try it to left my settled sidewalk this summer
With the bags of cement pour half of the 1st bag of concrete in the hole, then pour a gallon of water on top of the cement pour the rest of the 1st bag in the hole pour some more water in the hole, get the 2nd bag pour half the bag of concrete in the hole add some more water, dump the rest of the 2nd bag of concrete in then top the hole with some more water and you're done.

This must be a sponsored video since I know Mike would have said something about foam shrinkage otherwise.
I've seen many vids about shrinkage -- not sure about this product. I love Mike but the overwhelming evidence of Sika product failure has me going with Fast 2k.
Can this stuff be used on Cedar post without rott or decaying in the future
It's certainly more expensive than the concrete at $12.60 US at Lowe's. My bag says not to mix for more than 15 seconds and then to pour it into the hole. It also says NOT to let it start expanding in the bag.
A man did the sika and it failed on RUclips. Two days later they say it started separating from the ground around pole.
My question is what is the longevity of this? Does it last as long as concrete, is it as resilient as concrete?
i would like to see strength and durability test of these 2 product.
A wiggle test at the end would have been good. I’ve used it and it’s awful stuff, post Crete would have been a fairer test.
you think I can raise my concrete slab 2" with a bag, its 36x48
Mike a question please can one set chainlink posts in wet ground after rains
Can you fill a hole with this foam and drill into it for privacy screen idea?
Secure set is by far better product! But they aren't paying Mike holmes so he's willing to sell you a inferior product! Such integrity!
