It's always a good show, but this was even better than usual. Mace is a great guest; I hope she comes back sometime.
She’s super cool to listen to, you can tell she’s just naturally chill
Man, I'm neither an aviator or in the military but I've really come to love this show. The back and forth between Gonky and Mover always have me smiling and laughing lol
Keep up the good work boys and girls 🤙🏼
Former KC-10 Boomer and aspiring pilot here. Just want to say I love the content and look forward to it every week! Thank you for what yas do and throughly enjoy the mental health minute aspect of your show every week.
Sat in the boom operator seat once at an air show. The rest of my family of three sat in the cockpit while I took photos. But it was interesting. While in line waiting to get into the cockpit, a fellow attendee said she was a flight attendant and recognized the same kind of coffee maker she used on DC-10s.
“I don’t like the idea of one engine and no ejection seat.” Right on, MACE!
Mace is f'n awesome!!! What a great guest for a great show.
Awesome session as always! Mover as my comment to your count, "I appreciate you and all you do and have done over the past years! There will always be darkness (negative people) in the world, but continue to be a light and the darkness still not be seen!
Glad to see Mace and hear some of her experiences while I listen to Vipers launch off the runway! Resisting need urge to say Air Power!...oops too late😁
Great episode Gonkey, loved Mace as a co host, she's awesome! And I agree, "Everyone needs a Gonkey".
Great show as always. Mace is awesome.
Mover, I think you are great. Your videos and your wisdom have got me through some tough times. Thanks all for such great videos. When do we get Doug cam?😊
regarding Gonky asking if the F-35's attachable pylons are stealthy, they are not. But there is a program underway to develop stealthy pylons/fuel tanks for the F-22 that could probably apply to fat amy too. It won't be as stealthy as a slick plane, but still an improvement. I personally wonder if it will be like a shell that covers most of the missile, because most missiles aren't stealthy. It will be very interesting to see how that affects F-35 loadouts. Good show, Mace is great, everyone was in top form tonight, had me laughing.
Love you guys and Mace’s channel as well! Great collaboration. Do it more often!
Thanks MACE for explaining the light gun thing. I’ve been wondering what that was about since the Super Bowl
Lions and Tigers and Bears, Chili Fries, but no Ranch...Oh My.‼️ Great show tonight. Mace is awesome.
🤟👀🥰
Appreciate the GA love for us pilots that burn up the sky in our single engine pistons. My wife and I own a 1962C 172. It's our love and passion, but always try to mitigate the risks. If you guys ever come up to Southern Ontario, I'll take ya for a spin!
Another great episode guys love it.
What a fantastic guest as well. Cheers.
I'm italian. So i know some stuff about the frecce tricolori. We fly the mb-339 PAN, which is a modified version of the mb-339A. It is both used by the national demo team and for the advanced fase in pilot training. Fun fact it is also nick named the "Macchino", because despite it being a subsonic aircraft( similar to the t-45 the us navy), it is so light that it can easily fly near supersonic speeds. It is a very versatile aircraft for what it looks like at naked eye. Some countries even use it for ground attack and mount big gun pods on them. About the frecce tricolori, there is to say that we have the most numerous demo team in the world with a total of 10 aircrafts, number 10 being the solo pilot. And i think that this year the frecce tricolori will be doing a tour in America.
Another great episode! I love hearing the stories and discussions on recent events/topics but it’s the Mental Minute is the part I love listening to. I always take away something from each segment and apply it to my day to day life. Very inspiring!
Mace is a fantastic guest. Straight shooter with the real world experience to back it up. A great addition to the team.
Oh my gosh I freaking love this show so much! When Mace was talking about the Mig-29 Fod intakes opening on takeoff and Mover said like V-Tec, I lost it man 😂😂 You guys(and girls) are the best
The early DOHC VTEC system did two things. One was a hydraulic flap that led to a more aggressive cam profile when locked in. But it was coupled with a runner that opened up the air intake wider at higher revs.
Enjoyed this show (like every week), even though I can't watch it live as I'm in Europe.
MACE is great, just like Gonky and Mover. Keep up the good work!
And MACE has a new follower on the 'gram :-)
Always enjoy watching Podcasts with Mace Great job guys keep up the great work
My favorite channel/podcast hands downs. Well done everyone. You speak my language 100% of the time as a retired USAF fighter pilot myself. 👍 🇺🇸 Appreciate your show.
Thanks man!
One further comment from your local Canuck. Don't listen to the haters. They are sad, lonely people who need help. You guys are great and send amazing messages with all your videos. Keep your heads up and keep up the amazing work. And Gonky stop cyber bullying 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Honestly though you guys are a inspiration and amazing and a big Canadian F*** you to those that put people down. Ya that's right, Canadians can get mad. 😘
Cheers guys and gals.
awesome ep, thanks
Always a great show when Mace is involved. Was hoping she'd talk about that near miss when you guys started talking about flyover. Happy Birthday Mover!!
Another great show guys, thanks to Mace for coming on !
Mace is a great guest. Thank you for sharing this conversation!
awesome one with Mace, keep up the great work guys!!! cheers
Thank you!
Good show, Mace has some good insight. Saw an interview with a guy Tom Moser “Gunny” who went from enlisted Marine to Cop to Strike Eagle Pilot to airline pilot. He is a pretty interesting guy, would love to see you guys have him on the show.
Mover your the glue that holds the show together. Ignore the haters. I listen to it when I’m driving my truck and the miles just disappear. 🦘🦘🦘
MACE great to see you on the show, I want my daughter to know she can do whatever she wants to do in her life. :) Her life, her body, her rules.
Another great show you two! Mace was the perfect guest - so interesting. Am appreciating your insights on the Middle East situation - example, Gonky you knowing the range of the Phalanx missile and the implications of that. Gonky, you have got to get Mover on a dating sight - its sad that such an amazing guy does not have a partner! As always, take care!
Go Mace! Looking forward to next time!
Hey Mover and Gonky, it was a pleasure listening to you and Mace from Italy as usual!
Concerning our Frecce Tricolori (probably one of the hardest word to pronounce for a foreigner 😂) team, they will tour US this summer, from June to August, so might be an occasion for Mace to see them!
Also, it will be one of the last years flying the Aermacchi MB339-PAN, before they transition to the newer Leonardo M345 soon.
I’m training at ATP flight school in Tucson and we always see the F-16’s in the air and Taxiing. super cool taxi behind a 4 ship while in a Cessna 172.😂
Mace, great exsmple for young girls, keep it up. Great job ALL. See you next week.
As always, great show, very entertaining
Best MHM as a chef listening to this really helps
The F111 used to have the nose gear pin in before shutting down the second engine. They fixed it, another one collapsed o they went back to pin in before shutdown.
This podcast has easily jumped up to one of my favorite podcasts. Would love to do some BFM in some old jets and WW2 planes on DCS
What an awesome episode :)
12:03 Why Not Minot shout-out! I was stationed there, maintainer.
You guys are the best... gotta get her back soon!! (and Wombat)
That's pretty cool that she was the first woman to fly in the lead solo position. As the first she is notable, but personally, I try not to make a big deal out of women in roles like that. I think we should treat it as a normal thing, like, "of course women can do that, why would you think not?" I'd argue that treating a female pilot as normal is the more respectful thing to do. If it were me I wouldn't want extra attention; I'd want to be treated like any other jet fighter pilot. It should all come down to whether or not the individual can do the job, or be the best candidate for competitive positions. Like, I want the best wingman I can get regardless of what's between their legs.
Thanks for covering the nose gear incident on short notice. There was another in '22 in Japan, but after a precautionary landing. The gear collapsed while the plane was towed, there are some videos around. Really weird. Great episode, great guest.
I only saw one Infantry guy with the 82nd. No wonder it was messed up….😜
Yup another great co-lab.. Happy to have spent the time with you all..
Triffic discussion about imposter syndrome and how it can be destructive when even an imbecile kicks you off, let alone someone you consider a peer. Thanks.
The ER190 did an intersection departure HALFWAY down with only 4000’ of runway ahead and hit lights and the localizer!
I would have loved to send in a voice question to her if only we knew who the upcoming guest is beforehand. I know you guys do this live but for us in other timezones it would be great with a headsup.
Re Houthi's
They are using Scud-B and -C missiles, the North Korean Hwasong variants, the Tochka missile, the Qaher-1 missile, the Zelzal-3 ballistic missile and the C-802 anti-ship cruise missile. So response time varies due to different speeds and detection ranges
Mover needs a country song written for him titled, "It Could Have Been Me".
Like the 1992 Billy Ray Cyrus masterpiece, "Could've Been Me."
@laurab.9318 Ah yes. One of the mullet man songs. I remember when all my Florida redneck friends got a mullet and one did it with a flattop. I tried to convince my parents to let me get one. It was a "No". I look back at my senior picture, and all I have to say is, "I love you, Mom and Dad."
But, we need a Weird Al version written just for Mover.
Blue on blue is a nightmare scenario. I know that Mover does the PD thing as well as aviation. Four of the guys I worked with (PD) got into a blue-on-blue. Off-duty rookie from another department decides to try and make an off-duty arrest without his shield or ID, and with his gun in his waistband. Perp resists, gun falls (not in holster) and they wrestle for it. Trigger gets hit, shot goes off. Our guys are in the area and walk up on it. Off-duty rookie turns and points the gun toward them and they turn him into Swiss cheese. Simply horrible.
The nose gear collapsed because the strut lock did not lock for some reason. In my experience, all of my jets had either over center gear position, (Weight on Wheel not allowing it to retract) or actual retraction strut locks, especially when you have folding strut braces (always on the nose gear), not sure what Fat Amy has, but it was obviously not locked. The reason why it collapsed slowly after shutdown is, even after the motor driven pumps stop producing pressure, the hydraulic accumulators retain system pressure, and bleed off for a short time. This would keep the extension cylinder full for a time. The pins are always installed after hydraulic pressure is off the aircraft, as a bleed down retraction is not good if you are in the wheel well installing locks.
Our F-111 was notable in this, as far as retained Utility Hydraulic pressure. Upon last engine shutdown, the Emergency generator (hydraulically driven) would kick in (due to loss of engine AC power) with a major turbine whine, and run for a few seconds, and then the final item, before the pilots would exit, they would watch the canopy mirrors (along with all of us on the flightline) for the horizontal stabs to droop, indicating the hydraulic pressure was indeed off the aircraft. If they did NOT droop, we were required to do full motion checks on the stab actuators, to insure we did not have bind or valve issues.
Hey Gonky, I never knew you were a fellow UND graduate. To prove you went to school there I will give you my secret UND test that I would give my UND first officer’s at Delta. If you were eating a double ham, double cheese grinder where would you be eating in Grand Forks? No pressure but I only had two guys fail this in 31 years at Delta.
Wasn't Max "Afterburner" a Thunderbird? It would be cool to see him on your show.
I love 25:00 , I've never seen Mover rattled before.
What a great show, Mace is hilarious and fits right in easily… so to speak.
Speaking of so to speak, how could you guys leave Mace hanging on her so to speak at 24:99??? 😬 lol
Mace has cool nerd energy
4:55 she does the wombat smug face haha
Hey Gonky, I wanna tell you that the missile launching on your thumbnail (on the lower right) looks like a right hand giving the finger. lmao
Please keep it!
Hey Guys, I had a crack as we call it over here with Gonky about the Dude thing and Mace not wanting to push a high hour F16 to its limits, i made a comment that has haunted me because you guys are awesome and i am sorry.
I am an Engineer and build race engines in my spare time, i know i wouldn't survive a 9G warm up with Mace and she served with distinction, it was honestly innocent and i really enjoy your content i had a few drinks and acted like a 22 yr old dick head.
So i am at your mercy of your judgement and wish all three of you guys the very best i love your show.
Mover is an inspiration, Gonkey is a steadfast straight shooting war hero and Mace just exemplifies professionalism.
Your steadfast supporter Kris X
2:08:47 there are also bots that trying to ruin your day, it's sad but reality, and YT isn't doing a great job to filter those out. But in monetizing strikes, they are mastering.
Anti-skid isn't a downing gripe on the boat, ie carrier.
The Buff works.
1:22:35 thats why i maintain moving to drones fully is not a good plan... drones need a link to control and relay.. any link can be severed by advanced or clever enough means.. when that happens your drone would need to be autonomous AI to complete the mission alone..and would you really want that? if the enemy can jam the link they can also jam the GPS signal, sensors any other stuff that would make your now autonomous deaf drone also blind..
So drones might work in low threat enviroments and to some degree in modern battlefields but a clever or advanced enought enemy could find a way to neutralize them just with jamming and then you would have a huge problem if you resort mostly on them...
Jamming is easier in principle than in practice.
@@ypw510still doesnt mean it cant be done... would you bet your tactical capacity to the enemy never being able to jam your link?
@@sparrowlt
There are decades of experience. And the future is likely going to be Loyal Wingman or similar drones supplementing piloted aircraft.
F35 nose gear was still under warranty right?
if your flyin one way and the earth spins other does that mean you sittin still ?
freaking gronky
Folks, you didn't write that she was a Thunderbird. Please correct the description!!! And nobody *said* she was a Thunderbird until 9+ minutes in. Just keeping my friends honest. Will finish the rest of the podcast later. Thank you as always for great work!
Sandra Bullock can get you home.
DUDE if mover doesn't have a GF or is married, DUDE !! Set him up brother, a dog is awesome and his dog is just lovely but he needs a woman in his life.
Surely you can trick him into finding a beautiful pilot of the opposite sex that loves hard stick, Mace is awesome but married, and when she said oh well mach 1.5 is good for me you know these planes are old, hey she has a kid to go home to i understand.
There must be a gorgeous female fighter pilot about 5 foot 6in to five foot 8in that rips 9Gs before her coffee on a morning, DUDE get Mover sorted, nd if anything goes wrong just blame Doug he can handle it.
See hands off auto pilot you just got to make the intro DUDE !!!!!!!
LOL!
There are always haters, so it's not unprecedented, but it's unprecedented that people can be keyboard warriors and just be general pieces of crap which they wouldn't do in a face to face setting.
For frag sake!!!!!! Still not mad, Mover do better !! ;)
Do what better? 🤔
Are there any ugly fighter pilots?
The days of critical analysis appear to have come to an end - the scrolling message saying that these views do not reflect those of the defense department is gone as well (for a good reason).
That's a bit unfortunate... anyways, see ya.
You are severely mistaken. Nothing has changed.
@@CWLemoine I am immune to gaslighting. I have eyes and sufficient analytical skills to spot the changes.
I appreciate your reply though.
@@realitycheck1086 you’re not doing a good job then because there aren’t any changes. The DOD disclaimer is always at the beginning of every video and the description. The scrolling banner is only as a joke or if something is particularly sensitive.
