I am just non-electronic musician, know how to play banjo and guitar and may be a few other stringed instruments. But intrigued with electronic music and trying to wet my feet in this realm. First step is to get a MIDI keyboard. I absolutely loved how Zach made some dope music from scratch as he demonstrated the features of the keyboard. Thank you! I have subscribed and hope to see more of your content.
Coming back to revisit this video and demo of the M32. This has got to be one of the coolest and inspirational videos out there for Ableton integration, and chill vibe demo that sounds So Good! Additionally, an easy to follow highlight of so many important feature sets and scenarios to grasp/ponder. Thanks Mad Zach and NI!
I agree with someone else below that said a full production course from Mad Zach/NI/Ableton would be Ultimate! Start to finish song production in same mellow and clear style he does here. Maybe it already exists? If not.... Get On It Team! :P
I am very tempted to get this as a portable keys controller for when I am on the go. Currently I use the Maschine Jam which is excellent as a portable controller. Mad Zach played a big part in me getting that as well.
How does it work with non Native Instruments software? Previous NI controllers were very unstable when used just as MIDI controllers without the NI software.
Was trying to decide between this and Arturias lab series, good to know a lot of things that was making me lean towards the keylab are also featured on this and is still in the Native Instrument family like I’ve grown accustomed to. Makes my decision that much harder!
Aj Martinez: I'm going for the Arturia Minilab mkII, despite the fact I've got NI's Komplete 11.. If you use Ableton, and if this is anything like the A-25, which I tried, then I'm sure that Arturia machines communicate better with Ableton..
Frak Beats, how is better if you don't mind me asking? I read the knobs on the Arturia, being endless, were better to control Ableton's effects. And the A-25 I had was a pain when trying to map the knobs to the effects. Does the M-32 map pretty easily..? The Arturia's size is also better for portability..?
Okay this might seem like a silly question but with the first beat did you cycle region or loop it from the keyboard and record it in right away? Fab video. Thanks!! Loving my keyboard just can't wait to get better at it! :)
And then you pull out the Scarbee Mark I, and I go: That is my old Rhodes. Like litterally. My buddy Thomas (Scarbee) borrowed my Rhodes for what ended up being about a year of sampling. Upside was, that he returned a perfectly adjusted and tuned Rhodes. :-D
I have the Arturia Keystep, and it always bothered me that it did not have some knobs for mapping.. now I'm really tempted to get this... Also Mad Zach creating beats is always so sick... been a fan for the longest time.. XD
This has got to be in the top 3 midis and I would put this on 1 because it’s portable small packed in with soooo much good features I rate 10/10 recommend for anyone looking for this it’s 139$ or maybe even cheaper if you can find one
My goodness. You demonstrated so well. Just loved the way you did that effortlessly. Am thinking of buying M32 for the last 3-4 days. One of the main reasons is KOMPLETE KONTROL 14 SELECT is being offered free now with this keyboard. I always wanted to buy this KK14 SELECT. But not its a double bonanza on the offer now. The software is priced at 99.5 USD and this keyboard 139 USD. So you just pay 40 USD extra and get a MIDI keyboard that performs so well as seen in your above video. Would it integrate with Ableton Live 10 Intro, my Ableton license? I know the keyboard bundle offers Ableton Live Lite too. But many functions and sounds and patches which work in Live 10 Intro, are not supported in Live Lite. Many thanks in advance. Pune city, INDIA
Ciaoooo and thank you for the great review! I've a couple of questions. The 2 strips can only used to change octaves or can they be used to modulate and/or apply effects on the notes we are playing? And can I assign a sound (recorded by me) to each key? For example if I wish to split a song chorus into pieces, could I assign each piece to each key? For example in the chorus "No rhyme, no reason, No time, no season, No rhyme, no reason, This time, you're leavin'" I wish to assign "No rhyme, no reason" to one key, "No time, no season" to another key and so on... and play each part that I wish only pressing the right key. And could I also slow down or speed up the tempo of the chorus? Thank you heaps!
hey great video i have just got myself a M32 but i cant get komplete kontrol to work correctly with ableton live 10 lite and its really frustrating can you help at all??
I love how they use Live by Ableton, one of their biggest competitor, to show the features of their hardware. :) P.S. both Berlin based, so I like that :D
Can’t wait to receive it! Too bad I had 84$ more to pay because I’m in Canada tho, even if when I bought it, it was saying that I shouldn’t have delivery taxes:/
Gr8 vid! I bought the M32 today. Do u have custom mapping? I am using Ableton Live, and when I select the track button, and click the large knob, it isn't working like ur video, it seems to me, in ur vid, when u click the large knob, it begins recording a loop, and when you click again, it ends the loop, or am I missing something? Cheers from Brisbane Australia... Would love to see a vid of ur actual setup/mapping.
Same problem here, I can't use the MK32 for both KK and Ableton live, one of those two is not working smooth.. I'm stuck and don't know how to get both software to work on the controller
Great demonstration! Also THANK YOU for not having a long intro. Nice to have someone get right to the point, and make it so cogently for the product.
"So you can really like plawlawlawlawk" 0:34 - 0:35

Best video on this keyboard and it’s functions so far !!! Sold me on it. Got mine today. Very pleased all around so far. 🙌🏾
How is your experience after 1 year?
Ankit Anand no complaints. Excellent smaller keyboard. Highly recommend !!
Thank you so much

This is great, really puts everything into context so well!
I love how streamlined that was. Nice work, Mad Zach!
So good - both the controller and Zachs explanation and tune! Keep 'em coming :)
Hahahaha that last solo man! OMG!
Just got this today. I'm in love with it!
It comes with abelton inside the box?
6:35 OMG FF7!!! Great video man cheers.
Hey, thanks!

Great keyboard, great demonstration! That delay-ed lead at 8:21 sounds really good!
By the way: Bexy Sitch :D
You can easily do it with any plugin, by assigning and defining arpeggio..
Agree. Im on repeat with that moment :D
Great video and demo of the whole deal here... thanks NI and Mad Zach!

Thanks Mad Zach
This is a very cool 'behind the curtains' look at how non musicians make music. I'm not taking the piss! I Genuinely enjoyed this vid.

Cool demo, Mad Zach is dope
This is an amazing video. Thank you.
Nice video Zach. That is a good tool for a low budget studio like mine. You sold me man.

Val M right?! Last time I saw you...
I get mine in two days. I can't wait. Great video!
Do the arp and chord features work in regular daws ? Or only if connected and using sounds through Komplete kingdom ?
Does the m32 work well in Maschine paired with the Mk3 mikro?
This dude got soul !!
Is Zach using his own computer here? It's an older MBP (pre 2016) than the ones native usually used in its promo videos.
Awesome, can't wait to get mine. But why use the D-knob as a button for recording rather than the dedicated record button?
It's great! It would be even better if it were open source! This Mad Zach guy is very talented!
How does it work with non Native Instruments software? Previous NI controllers were very unstable when used just as MIDI controllers without the NI software.
I also wanna know.
nice, can't wait for mine to come in

what's the integration with Maschine? does it pair well with the mikro mk3?
I'm after the answer about the integration with other DAWs, especially with less used ones, for example Mulab. Could you tell me about that, please?
Dope video Mad Zach, thanks for the demo!
I bought this. One hell of a keyboard
HE IS SO FIRE!
Does it also work as a midi for other non related plug ins?
Yes it does
thanks for the demonstration, can you explain for what is the button IDEAS good for, it show a pattern number, but what for?
Can you upload the full version of the test song?
damn this track is fire and now im buying one
Can you Control ableton only ? Or other daws as well?
I think it's just ableton and machine but only the newest versions of both
Beauty melody
