NI Kontrol M32 + Maschine Mikro TOGETHER | The "Truths" you need to know...

- I recently bought an M32 keyboard and the Maschine Mikro from Native Instruments, as I already owned Komplete 13 and the 14 upgrade. I bought them used to replace a 25 key controller in my mobile rig. but found these new devices very useful in the studio. It took a while to configure and learn to use these with Logic, as Komplete Kontrol and the Maschine 2 software can work together, but have some idiosyncrasies. Still, after much testing and playing around, I have them working together in Logic and I’m happy with the results. In this video, I’ll explain how they work together and the features of the M32 versus the Mikro that you need to understand if you use NI Komplete instruments or bundles in Logic.
There’s an abundance of M32 keyboards and Maschine Mikro’s on the used market, as these are the lowest cost entry points in the NI product lines. I found many sellers are either upgrading to larger keyboards, like the 49, or the full Maschine MK3. There’s also owners who bought these devices and just never learned how to use them, and rather than collect dusk, they sell them. Either way, you can get a deal and if you don’t have any Komplete instruments, they come with Komplete Select, and the seller can transfer the license to you.

Finally your video told me everything i wanted to know unlike all the others i watched before. Well done. Cheers.
Great, Jeffy, thank you so much. I've just got the Mikro MK3 and an A49 and I'm on the learning curve... this has helped me greatly in getting my head around a few things.
This video is soooo helpful. Thank you. I haven’t bought this mini keyboard yet (I have an M-Audio one) but I’m inclined to pull the trigger after seeing this.
Thank you so much for the tutorial! I'm thinking about the same setup for my home studio. And you've answered many of my questions/doubts. Especially at 12:32 the drums multi out from the MASCHINE plugin. I couldn't find the info on it anywhere else.
Very informal video. Thanks 👍🏻
thanks for the video.👍
YT recommended you while I was watching a Venus Theory about the Cobalt 5S. But I have been watching a few Maschine YTs lately.
Jeff, another good video. I do have two KK A25s using with Logic X. Would you know if this video would apply to the A25s in the same way? Thanks
Awesome, very helpful video. Thanks so much my friend. Btw Is there anyway to use the Machine mikro in midi mode with battery 4, ultrabeat or other drums plugins? Planning to get one to complete my set up with my M32 like yours
Yes you can!
Thanks for explaining that Maschine software works with NI keyboards,, but KK doesn't work with Maschine controllers.
great vid thanks man. I wish kontakt would integrate w these controllers. I find myself using kontakt more. they should just merge komplete and kontakt IMO haha...
Can i use the m32 encoders to control the macro knobs in maschine?
Hi there!
Is there any video that you can recommend me of how to setup the Komplete Kontrol M32?, thanks in advance
Did you get what you need from my videos?
Thanks for your reply, not really, the problem that I use to have it was to be able to control Logic, to play, stop, record.... but suddenly start to work the KK Controller. Thank you any how!
Great video i am gland that i found your channel 😂
Welcome aboard!
I just got the M32 . Also have the MK3 . But is it possible to use keys to mimic the pads ? Say I only want to travel with m32 , can’t I use just the m32 to trigger pad sounds (not like individual pad as a keyboard, but say C1 is pad 1, C2 is pad 2, and so fourth) ?
Absolutely! The M32 can do it all. I thjink the only different between the Mikro pads and the M32 is that the Mikro might default to midi channel 10, whereas the M32 default to midi channel 1. I'll have to test this.... so, one option is to change the M32 to send on Midi 10, but the easier option might be to just change the Machine 2 Software to accept "all" or "any" midi channel. In that case, your keys C1, D1, etc. should trigger the pads.
@@JeffyG thank you ! 🙏🏽
@@JeffyG I figured out; if you go in Maschine software, click on the circle power button looking thing in center screen. Opens up Input/output/groove/Macro options. From there select “group” out of Master/Group/Sound. Then on “midi routings” you can change to “drum kit” which maps the keys as if they were Maschine MK3 pads ! (I.e. no longer makes 1 sample/sound different octaves across keyboard) .
how did you get the mikro maschine to control logic the way you have shown? in midi mode mine doesnt do any of that.
Logic | Preferences | Control Surfaces…. add ‘Mackie Control’. ruclips.net/video/onYKxO-Bxio/видео.htmlsi=ZyfSuRzFQge8a8AK
Unfortunately NI locked everyone out of being able to assign shortcuts to the preset browse function. Pretty anti consumer.
