Thank you for showing us the Cameo 4, which I am definitely buying, but I am waiting for the 15” or 20”. I am super excited about the increased force. I had a Cameo 2 and currently have the 3 and have always said I would pay $500 for a more robust machine. Looks like my dream is coming true!

Unfortunately there seem to be zero videos on how to use the cameo 4 for someone who has never owned on. How to load the mat, etc. I guess it will be identical to the cameo 3 ?

I came here looking for same. I'm not tech savvy and have no idea what i'm doing. Never owned a Silhouette machine before.
I am new to Cameo 4 and have watch many of your videos. After using the 3 for years I still found many of your tips very new and useful. thanks. My problem at this time is that my auto blade is cutting too deep....ON THE FIRST cut. I laid out three items to cut today. the First cut went all the way through the material (white sticker) As this has happened before, I laid out the next two cuts, without making any adjustments. These two were perfect with no problems. This is very frustrating. any suggestions? The blade had not been removed since my last use. I've only made about 10 vinyl cuts and don't believe there should be any build up of material on the blade. Judy
It's likely that your blade is not fully down in the carriage. There should not be a gap.

Hi Melissa, thank you so much for the video.Is it possible for you to please measure where the lid slides out the back - how far out it pokes out and also how high off the table it is? I have mine on preorder and so excited, but worried that the shelving unit I use will work for it as there is a metal bar that runs horizontally along the back as a stabliser.... want to get its new home ready before it arrives haha.

La Tanya Wilson Get an Easy Press 2.0 if you are a beginner. It works wonderfully and is a great way to jump in without dedicating a lot of space and money.

So when I get the new machine and we do the update for it to recognize the new machine, will I still be able to use my cameo 3 too? Sorry I know it's probably a crazy question, but I've only had the cameo 3 about a yr now and I know that some of the tools won't be able to be used in each of the machines models, so I just wanted to make sure the software will still be able to be used for both machines or pick up the cameo 3 once I update it for the cameo 4. I'm still quite new to all this, and still have some confusion about it all, but am learning as I go. I really want to go ahead and order the new cameo 4, but I think I want to wait until the 20 inch comes out. Especially since so many rolls of vinyl are 15+ inches wide.
Yes you can still connect either machine to your software.

Esli Montserrat G'B I’ve heard this can cut thicker stuff but I’ve not actually seen proper info and all. Honestly on the websites to buy them they should give a full list of what it can cut instead of “-and much more!”
Have you ever had an issue with the vinyl roll going off the rollers? I have an issue where the vinyl goes in straight but eventually as it’s going through the cutter it seems to go away from one of the rollers and then it messes up my project. I have the silhouette 2

That’s why I never buy a new release right away. Wait until all the kinks are ironed out!

Aww man already picked up mines before I seen this video and knew about your bundle. The instruction book would have really helped I wish it came in the one from Michaels. Know I seen the comment about the school blog so I will look there for a video on how to use the machine

So that means that you can not use the knife and lets say a pen together at the same time with the cameo 4 because it wont fit in the Port 2. However in the cameo 3 you could use the blade and the pen together since port 1 and port 2 is identical in Cameo 3?
For a brand new beginner who has never owned a machine like this, you're going way to fast. I can't see how you loaded that blade. I'll have to find another video to help me. Thank you for your service. Maybe i'll try back here when I know more.
Shelly Moffat hey I just got my cameo it’s simple you go to the cartridge 1 it’s sorta of a circle cut in half. One half you can pull it opens the circle larger you slide your auto blade in place and then push the half back and it locks it in place. It’s not hard I figured it out on my own.

is the dept of cameo 3 and 4 same? I've been using my cameo 3 with my cricut carry tote without the foam. I hope the cameo 4 will fit to.
I received a cameo 4 for Christmas. I made several designs and cuts without any problem. Then I had an iron on image and flipped it. With that design and cut it began sending every cut to a queue and saying it qas complete. I can not get any project to cut now.
I'm interested in the cameo 4. Will it cut sharp stencils for lettering/numbering on wood? Thanks

Every time i send the cut the blade goes to the left and tries to cut not on the mat at all what am i doing wrong is their. Calibration that needs to be done

Hi Just starting to use the cameo for the first time. Bought version 4. Finally got the computer to talk to the cutter. Problem it will not cut the sticker vinyl. All I got was a few scratches at gauge 10 and pressure 30. Then tried a piece of copy paper. Cot some cuts but only clean cuts partially. What is going on ?? Please help. Think I have wasted $300 !!!!
Can anyone tell me how to make letters go from tall to short? What I am trying to do is start word out tell and make the letters get shorter at the end of the word? I am using a Silhouette Cameo 4. I would like to make a word kind of like a ramp.
Do you need digitized software in order for the cameo to read my personal designs on my laptop?
Because the Cameo 4 can cut to 3mm deep is there a blade for that or is the Silhouette Deep-Cut Blade what you want to use for that?

Hello Melissa, I unboxed by new Cameo 4 which I bought a month ago and this is the problem: firmware needs updating (1.03) I plugged in the usb cable as directed, clicked on update now - it flashes other instructions, such as do not turn off; however, nothing happens - I left on overnight thinking it was working in the background. I then downloaded the firmware and extracted to my desktop; however, after following the direction from the website - I get an error message after clicking ok please when it tells me to connect and power on - the error message I get is "Error, please check connection with Cameo" - I don't know what or where else to go. I have restarted in between each attempt.

Thte right tool carriage can only be used with the speciality blades: 3mm Kraft Blade, Punch Tool, and Rotary Blade.

Hi, is there anyway that you can contact me? I have purchased a bundle from swing for tshirt making. The cameo4 and mint heat press, plus we ordered the business edition software. Didn't come, tried to contact swing and I all I got was a code, literally. I have no idea how to use it and I'm totally frustrated. Can you please help us? Thanks!
I bought mine and received it. I've been using it and noticed there isn't a repeat job button on the machine like there is on the cameo 2. Where is it?? gone?

can you use other pens to draw, will they fit, and does it read svg files?
Cheryl Barrett Silhouette has dedicated pens for drawing so I don’t think you can use another brand (I believe they are fairly thick) and it does read svg files. I hope that helps.
P.S. I tried reaching out to Silhouette and you can't talk with anyone and then from the recorded message, it states you can chat live. Nope, there is absolutely nothing. We are totally new to this and it is more than over whelming. I get we are going thru covid, however you can't sell things to people and not help.
I design from Corel and use the silhouette connect that I purchased will this cameo 4 cut from Corel.

Very poor video. How many times does she say she just got off the plane? Who cares? All I wanted to know is does this thing cut fabrics like the Cricut. VERY poorly done. TD. OMG, at her rate, her "hour long video" would contain about 5 minutes worth of useful info. We can't forget to comment on her 'clock' every once in awhile ... Very frustrating to watch an un-re-boxing as well.

You have great info, but the quality and clarity of your videos is awful. Nothing is clear, it's blurry all the time.
