I have been using C1 for more than 2 yrs now. I never liked PS and initially hated C1's interface as it takes time to get used to. But overall editing is easier in C1.

Thanks for this video! I’ve been using C1 for almost a year (coming from Luminar and no LR experience). Because of C1, I have really started to enjoy color-grading. You explained some things in a way that I was able to understand and shared some tips and shortcuts I hadn’t seen before. Looking forward to the skin tone editor video because I have yet to see a video that explains the functionality in a way that makes sense to me!

Great to hear! I'm really excited for the Skin tone video too! It's a feature that made me fall in love with C1 even more - Tethering was the #1 seller for me. A Video on that is in the works too!

Check Paul Reifer and Kasia Zmokla for C1.

@@bobby350z Paul’s work leans toward landscapes and I am looking more for portrait edits. I will check out Kasia’s videos. Thanks!

Thanks for the video! Very interested in trying out capture one, specifically for its raw render engine as I've heard great things. I'd like to see another unedited raw file comparison between LR and C1. The image opened in LR was being viewed with Adobe Color not any camera matching profile. It appears that C1 was properly reading the r5 but I'm not sure C1 uses profiles the same way at LR. Looking forward to more C1 vids in the future.

Thanks for the feedback! Good point, I used what LR had as a default. So maybe not the best comparison. Knowing that I could change the default on Lightroom would make a different in the long run means that it might not be as bad. I can add to my list some comparisons. Good suggestion.

Lightroom just jumped ahead in this area with the new spot color. It's pretty amazing.

First off nice video. I have been using capture for a while and I do agree that it is better than the competition, and the only reason why I started using it was that skin tab (being a portrait photographer I guess that makes sense). My biggest grief with it is that you have to do multiple layers -like you showed- in order to completely change a color. That really bugs me. More often than not I just hop over to photoshop if I have to do anything like that, which is a bit of a shame cause at that point you re not using a raw processor but a pixel processor but it's still more convenient for me at times. Thumbs ub for the video and for capture though.

Thanks for the feedback and That all makes sense - portraits in C1 FTW! Now I'm curious if there's a faster way to change colors. Thank you for this comment!

at about 6:30 its not about selecting "highlights" of the color range but for selecting a saturation-range: only saturated parts or not saturated parts...

Hi Rob, I have been using Capture One for the past few years, and I think it is a uniquely beautiful program. Unfortunately, I always switch back to LR because I can edit faster with it, for example square photos. In LR I can sort 1 photo, square it and then quickly edit the other photos as well. Can I also do that quickly in Capture One? We are a school photographer and want to have the files at the photo lab as quickly as possible after processing. But I really want to work with Capture one and have also purchased the latest version. There are so many more possibilities with Capture one. But I don't work with it enough to learn more about the program. Gr. Herman - from Holland

Dude you need to add your camera brand model in settings and set it to apply automatically camera matching profiles instead of adobes

May I make a suggestion? I am a Photoshop Certified Expert and a Lightroom power user. Why don’t you choose a RAW file of your choice, unedited, and both if us would edit it: you in C1 and I in Lightroom Classic and compare results… shall we?

Not difficult to pick a winner in this compare!

Hello. Perhaps you did not see my message which I wrote, below, 5 days ago. But I'll reproduce it again, just in case, as the idea , in my opinion and I am sure in the opinion of many of your subscribers may be good fun and quite revealing. Here it goes: I am a Photoshop Certified Expert and a Lightroom power user. What exactly would be the point? Two experienced photographers/editors using the two main photo editing apps are both going to produce a good final image. Whoever's was "better" is going to be very subjective and probably wouldn't be because one app was better than the other. I don't believe this video was unfair to Lightroom in any way. I use both apps, so I don't care which app other people prefer.
