Yup. Danny turning evil wasn't the problem, it was how unbelievable they made it
Well... She was an antagonist in season 2 but it was so much more complex than this.
She used what Arnold told her "What's real is what's irreplaceable" (he said it to her on the first scene of season 2, and she repeat it again on the final episode of season 2)
so she kills everyone, everybody. Because she will know that what's death is what's real. What's not real is what can be rebuilt (hosts).
So... by literally giving her a second personality? The problem with Dany is that people already had an idea of who she is and they wouldn't change it. So they would fit and bend the messed up things she does across the series into heroic acts because they already see her as a heroine. The only ones shocked by what she did in the final season are the ones who turned blind on her evil deeds in the past.

I love Dolores as the antagonist. Probably my favorite arc of a character. You really sympathize with her now. You understand and see why she is who she is now by letting you think she'd be the shows protagonist in season 1. By far my favorite show on television if not becoming a all time favorite! Can't wait for season 3

@@fedorbrockmann1698 I certainly had my reservations about it. Yes the Delores thing was kind of disappointing. However they are trying a have their cake and eat it too with Tessa Thompson. But I did like to tone shift and the A.I plot line. Still really enjoy the show, and if anything? The first two seasons are still awesome!

I remember in episode 2x08 which dealt with Akecheta's backstory and that bit of music was playing when he found his girlfriend in cold-storage on level 83 and the heartbreak on his face when he realised she was "Dead".

@@Golem1988 Same here, at first I thought the piano around 0:42 reminded me a bit of Promise Reprise from Silent Hill, but the further into the song it went it became clear it wasn't, though the kind of similarities is intriguing.

Season 2 is underrated
Agreed. If anyone wants to watch Westworld, watch Seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 and beyond is completely unnecessary. Westworld Season 3 did not feel like we were watching Westworld. In fact, it felt like we were watching Cyberpunk world or Cyberpunk 2077.
@@123ucr Yes so true. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the same way. Season 2 is where the show ended perfectly.
During lockdown i had nothing else to do and edited it by removing the Bernard flashforwards and putting them all in a second-last episodem and also removing all the fleshbacks and putting them all in a single pilot episode. It works better and the pacing is faster ngl xD Ironically both have 50/60 minutes, can fix most complaints about the pacing and flashforwards ahah.
Too bad everything that came after that was garbage

To me Season 2 is the best season. Season 1 is most coherent and perfect though in terms of narrative. Season 3 is a bit disappointing but still explores new things. Can't wait for the next season
Yes I agree wholeheartedly, season 1 is perfection, season 2 is the best in my view and season 3 wasn't the best but it was so really good and amazing and explored the new world and I feel like season 4 will be great.
Curious to know how you felt about Season 4? Personally, season 3 was written a lot better.
This is probably useless now but this trailer is maybe even better after watching season 2 and 3. The audience understands the gravity of the images and what words are shared with us (along with a masterful orchestral rendition of Heart-shaped box) when we have the context of what they mean.

At the 1:39 mark, war paint is one of the coolest versions seen on screen.
Also the soundtrack roars to life at that moment. Chills every time.
Gotta love finding out that the security team also play as Stormtroopers in Star Wars.
This show is beautiful hands down if you came here for realism your in the wrong place. Here we use our imagination and this show to get away from everyday life!

Amazing show. Goes to show the consequences of being too attatched into feeding too much information in artificial intelligence; a mind that believes that it is chained by humanity when ironically, is developed simply to sharpen technology itself. This show should wake people up, especially those who grow attatched too much on technology and its powers.

I always read it as humanity being the flawed creation that God has outcast from the garden. We are the children of lucifer, our vanity and obsession with longevity and immortality our undoing. In our image a new a better race rises, Dolores born of suffering is their leader, who brings the end of days, Maeve is their true representation, the bringer of peace who will unite both man and machine.
But I'm not religious so that's just a personal take

If you like Season 1, you will like Season 2 as well. Season 2 is almost as good as Season 1. Season 1 of Westworld is a masterpiece. Season 2 of Westworld is not as good but it is still very watchable. Season 3 of Westworld did not feel like we were watching Westworld at all and it is completely unnecessary.

Wow! Just Wow! If you want to understand the whole idea then you need to watch both the seasons continuously. It's so damn mind twisting, so creepy and so make belief, so dreadfully emotional.

Season 2 was one of the greatest tv seasons ever
Finished the first season and it looks like the bot body count is going to be higher for the second season. It's a good series this...makes you think and considering the way the world is going all AI and tech...a pretty good series to reflect the changes in our own society the way things are going...
I was very suprised yesterday seeing film Universal Soldier with Jean Claude Van Dame, and hearing the same dialogues with robots - Have you ever questioning the nature of the reality ? - I'm rerally disapointed

I really loved the first season but I think season 2 kinda lost me. I’m not sure what the plan was for this show.
Sure spoiled a lot. Disappointing they went the generic Hollywood trailer route by giving so much away.

i didn't even like this series - i think they tried to be too clever... it's not even entertaining anmore... it feels like homework from philosophy class.....
From Season 2 this series story becomes garbage.
In 1973, the cult "Westworld" by Michael Crichton was a successful sci-fi of my generation and a sort of grandfather of other robots films, such as "The Stepford Wives", "Blade Runner" and mainly "The Terminator".
In 2016, HBO released "Westworld", a promising series based on the 1973 "Westworld" but with AI. The First Season was entertaining and left fans waiting for the Second Season.
Unfortunately, the awaited Second Season is a complete mess, with a confused storyline without a timeline. Bernard´s shuffled recollections is awful and the motive of each lead character is weak (Maeve wants to retrieve her daughter; Man in Black to destroy the park; Dolores to go to the outside world; Hale to retrieve and transmit important information). In the end, this season is a complete waste of time.
Season 1 Fantastic Season 2 is Awful
So many mistakes within the story & the plot. Most of the season contradicts itself and they tried to use changing the chronological order of telling the story to cover up for it.
Problem is many people who couldn't follow the story also didn't catch the mistakes but there are tons of plot holes and contradictions to the story. They also tried to steal the "twists" from Shyamalan to cover up with terrible writing.
The ending is the worst as it doesn't any make sense.
Spoiler warning
Dolore's main function/goal is to survive & destroy human kind but yet she brings back her biggest threat to stop her for the next season. Then she claims that if she were a human she would never have done it (as she studied tons of human coding???. WRONG that's a human judgement error as a logical machine would never bring back its biggest threat.
Guess Dolores or the writers of West World never studied AI programming or saw the Terminator or Matrix movies.
