The urge to return my emo phase comes and goes. It’s hard to be “normal” when you have great music like this. And all your favorite singers are rocking the black hair, eyeliner, and eyeshadow.
PsychoAngels its more yelling....the overall screams weren't great...I mean its more of a fry....still considered a scream just not a good one..not even a great fry

“nobody’s listening” is a big part of this album, but i just want you guys to know that we are. you guys changed my life and your message is spreading and influencing others. thank you for everything, i hope you guys see this somehow♥️
Fact, nobody is going write the exact same style of album over and over so fuck yeah good on them for changing their sound the way they want and doing it amazingly. Personally I feel this is some of their best stuff to date and I can’t wait for the album! Still love all their other stuff but this album is going to make them huge in my opinion.
in the early mid 2000s alot of pop punk bands turned emo/post-hardcore,alternative rock, power pop and it kinda looks like its gonna happen again in a couple years in the 2020s to the other modern pop punk bands.
I know it's just a look, but i always liked seeing the singers with a emo, goth look or whatever you want to call it because in my opinion, it has more of edgy rock feel to it. I know there's a lot of bands or singers out there that doesn't have that look but is rocking out with their songs, but to me i always liked that look. At least a basic look of it. Btw, the band rocks, nice. I'm gonna listen to a couple more.
Seen them playing together in Cologne last October. Amazing performance, it was a fucking hell I've been in. Like, it was loud, hot, sweaty and amazing.
Kry Kry Stott today’s music isn’t bad at all. There are plenty amazing emo bands today that were influenced by late 90s early 2000s emo/hardcore. But I get you I still love my early emo music. Although I do cringe when I think about my screamo scene days.
Adam Rees sorry, but the term "emo revival" is taken. It has been for like the past like, 8 years. "Emo revival" refers to bands like TWIABPAIANLATD, The Hotelier, TMP, and Sorority Noise. Your literally like 8 years late. What rock were YOU under?
--- nobody has heard of those bands. I'm refering to the well known emo rise in the mid 2000s, the style, the bands the music. Not the emo you are refering too. People love to make edgy comments like this like look how smart I am I know more about emo than you. People make the same comments about pop punk and always list a bunch of bands nobody has heard of. You maybe right.. But I am refering to a different emo era that means something to me and others alike. Right now there is a rise in emo music simular in style to the emo from the mid 2000s so I'm calling it a revival.
--- I'm 100% aware that 99% of 2000s emo bands were not emo, most were post hardcore. I always used to say that to people in the 2000s but no one listened so I just settled on the word emo. I just refer to this era as emo as a generalisation because 99% of people think of it as emo. Thing is if everyone called it emo and still does. I do get your point though that the revival is not a new thing. For me it is though as 10-15 years ago the so called emo era was in full swing for me as a teenager and now as a 31 year old it's good to have this music back. I'm getting nostalgic over my college years and I am calling this a revival, it is for me and I'm sure a lot of people my age.
Adam Rees K, but "emo revival" refers to a specific type of music that blends modern underground emo with the classic 90's emo. MANY people are nostalgic for that. In fact, American Football but out a music video for their 1999 hit song "never ment", and it has 1.5 million views, because of a mix of nostalgia, and the new "emo hipsters".

ferna2294 They were together for over a decade. Lots of bands don't even go *that* long. Nobody should have to stunt their creativity just to satisfy a fanbase who cares more about an ongoing aesthetic than the happiness & artistic passion of the artists they 'love' so much. You don't care about the artists, the art itself, or the music. You care about the scene and how many followers it can get you. Artists need to create and grow *AS* artists. They can't do that playing the same shit for 20 years just to satisfy a bunch of adults who can't grow out of high school. It's just so cringy and sad.
I´m not blaming them of anything, but even if they lasted 15 years, I think they would have left a fanbase behind, simply because of the impact that they had in the scene.
Quick question...the ppl comparing this to My chem and 2000s emo, how old are you??? I was a teen during that time... They do not sound like my chem...just because they jacked a similar style to revenge MCR doesn't mean they SOUND like them.
petitefraise Not to mention that MCR wasn't even emo in the first place, and the worst part is them calling it "emo revival" when the actual emo revival that brought emo closer it it's 90's sound happened in 2010
Ahmad Utsiev I'm sorry but WHAT? The year literally started with a new TMP album WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU? There have been TONS of emo albums in the past few years, WHAT ROCK HAVE YOU BEEN UNDER?
AS IT IS JUST GOT HEAVIER AND I LOVE IT! Here’s to hoping they can be the next and even better version of A Day To Remember because I’m ngl but Patty’s RUclips covers where he screams are always great! And the work he’s done with CrazyEightyEight has been fantastical!
After seeing them live this week I have no doubt that this is just the band being true to themselves and putting out what they are feeling right now. If there was ever a time for angst over the state of the world, it is now.
I knew that this band exists but never listened to it... as I got notifications of these new songs, I decided to listen to them and it was the best decision I have ever made. I'm in love.
I came here from Christina Rotondo's cover (which is incredible by the way) and literally time traveled back to the first time I saw the music video for AFI's "Miss Murder", I 100% approve
I saw you guys at Warped and I had never heard of you before but I have now and you guys are AMAZING! I was very impressed you guys owned!! Keep it up I will rally for you !
one of the few bands that actually went heavier instead of becoming generic and not even poppy but just mainstream like most bands nowadays. this still sounds pop influenced but it's done in a really tasteful way. well done bois!
Damn. I remember as a middle schooler listening to all of his covers and now omg. Im a college kid and I couldn’t be happier that he’s changed and I love him even more now.
According to preorders, the new album is broken up into 4 themes:
Stage I: Denial
1. The Great Depression
2. The Wounded World
3. The Fire, The Dark
Stage II: Anger
4. The Stigma (Boys Don’t Cry)
5. The Handwritten Letter
6. The Question, The Answer
Stage III: Bargaining
7. The Reaper (ft. Aaron Gillespie)
8. The Two Tongues (Screaming Salvation)
9. The Truth I’ll Never Tell
Stage IV: Acceptance
10. The Haunting
11. The Hurt, The Hope
12. The End
James Duggan wait.. Aaron as in Underoaths Aaron?! Take my money.
They should have organised Jason Vena to feature on one of the 'Acceptance' tracks. Excited nonetheless
They somehow missed out depression there.
James Duggan So it’s about the grief?
If this is true I'm gonna be so happy
Well this is rare. I don't think i've ever seen a band that got even more-"scene" in their next record.
I've seen tons that became more-pop. that's pretty prevalent.

goldwincs yeah I never liked them until now 😍😍😍
goldwincs I listened to one song by them this morning and I practically broke the replay button. They’re one of my new favourites now. 😂
Make Emo Great Again!
goldwincs This is fucking pop though. I'm not sure why so many misinformed keeping calling this emo or punk.
@@enterchannelname1838 definitely not pop dude.
You mustve gotten hit in the head pretty badly to have your genres so scrambled.
Fourth Wave Patty is like a time capsule from 2005
It reminded me 2007th and Good Charlotte
and i love it so much :,)
reminded me more of A.F.I... to be fair they released DecemberUnderground the album and that this reminds me most of in 2005 so you're not wrong there
Azeria i
Azeria He is and I am LIVING for it!!!
It's like the whole universe is telling me to get back to my emo phase... Well, who am I to disagree then
im down lol, but i never left it (^.\\)
The urge to return my emo phase comes and goes. It’s hard to be “normal” when you have great music like this. And all your favorite singers are rocking the black hair, eyeliner, and eyeshadow.
This isn't emo 😂
People are mostly talking about Patty's look but the song is actually AMAZING and clearly one of their best.
"It's not a phase mom!" I love it.
And here we have As It Is bringing back the mid-2000's. Love this. Patty Way has arrived. 🖤
Patty Way sounds like a discount fast food place 😂
The intro reminds me of Cinematics era Set It Off and Three Cheers MCR. I LOVE IT🎉

“nobody’s listening” is a big part of this album, but i just want you guys to know that we are. you guys changed my life and your message is spreading and influencing others. thank you for everything, i hope you guys see this somehow♥️
The old As It Is can't come to the phone right now. Why? Because they're still in 2006 as My Chemical Romance
Lauren Murphy nope 2004
I saw them at Warped and after their opening song Patty said, "Welcome to the 2005 Warped Tour, we're My Chemical Romance!"
Dtyler5603 that's mad omg 😂
Fact, nobody is going write the exact same style of album over and over so fuck yeah good on them for changing their sound the way they want and doing it amazingly. There was the"normal person who's kinda alternative"patty/as it is era, the "pop punk" as it is era and now we have the "ExtrEMO" era :)
Just you wait there will be a long haired bearded Patty era
Repressed Caffine I'm a thirteen year old Emo
Repressed Caffine I get bullied for being Emo but i don't care there's nothing wrong with people being themselves
Repressed Caffine this is why we need MCR back :'(
Least they're all happy doing what they wanna do
This is so good I’m crying, black hair patty walters is everything
How have they made a new song sound nostalgic???? Pulling all my emo strings BOI
in the early mid 2000s alot of pop punk bands turned emo/post-hardcore,alternative rock, power pop and it kinda looks like its gonna happen again in a couple years in the 2020s to the other modern pop punk bands.
I sure hope so!
Fingers crossed
Kry Kry Stott hell yeah i hope so.
Kry Kry Stott well, that's true... Happened the same with the 80's and the 50's nostalgia that you can see in movies, games or even music
pop punk/ emo back to the mainstream
The breakdown killed me I’m so proud of you guys and so excited for this album.
I know it's just a look, but i always liked seeing the singers with a emo, goth look or whatever you want to call it because in my opinion, it has more of edgy rock feel to it. Quentin Diaz yeah and I hate that people call bands like PATD, TOP and FOB emo when they’re not and never looked it.
I haven't heard of anyone calling P!atD Emo? TØP could be, but P!atD is impossible to become Emo or maybe idk
Quenmbamn tin Diaz
p!atd is far away from emo in my opinion tbh

Seen them playing together in Cologne last October. Amazing performance, it was a fucking hell I've been in. Like, it was loud, hot, sweaty and amazing.
I like this emo sound way better than their regular pop punk sound. it sounds like something from 2004 to 2007 and It makes me nostalgic asf.
stonedgamer 420 I really miss those days 😭
Analía Calmejane hell yes me too.
Yeah and this kind of music should stay back in 2004.

After seeing them live this week I have no doubt that this is just the band being true to themselves and putting out what they are feeling right now. If there was ever a time for angst over the state of the world, it is now.
YAAAAAAASSSSSS IM SO HERE FOR THIS. SLAAAAYYYYYY
I knew that this band exists but never listened to it... as I got notifications of these new songs, I decided to listen to them and it was the best decision I have ever made. I'm in love.
bring to us emos again !!!

Neck Deep, As It Is, State Champs tour RIGHT. FREAKING. NOW
I love this band so much.
I came here from Christina Rotondo's cover (which is incredible by the way) and literally time traveled back to the first time I saw the music video for AFI's "Miss Murder", I 100% approve
*Emo Revival doesn't exi...*

Everyone is saying he looks like Gerard but he looks more like emo Jared Leto...
itslandonb lol when I first saw this video I instantly thought of Jared Leto in the kill music video.
Yes! With a hint of Pete Wentz's face...
Yeah, Gerard is more f.... heavy (?) (No recuerdo si esa era la palabra xd)

He looks nothing like Gerard...
I listened to this live in Cardiff- it was the first time you guys sang it live. I am in love with this song, it also sound INCREDIBLE live. ❤️☺️
Patty needs to do more screams
i am in love with this band and no one is stopping me, thank you.
why am i actually crying
one of the few bands that actually went heavier instead of becoming generic and not even poppy but just mainstream like most bands nowadays. this still sounds pop influenced but it's done in a really tasteful way. well done bois!
Patty's nerdy look is adorable
Patty's dramatic emo phase look is rlly fucking attractive
Oh man, I started to cry. Something about this kind of music makes my heart hurt, but in a good way.
I can’t believe Gerard way is the new lead singer for as it is

I never knew I needed an As It Is breakdown until now
If they continue into this emo-pop punk-post hardcore-screamoish this might be one of my absolute favorite albums of all time.
