I vaguely remember coming across a super mutant and his human girlfriend in Mariposa and if you kill the mutant, she laments his death. And if I'm not wrong, one more thing that was interesting was that they were together before the boyfriend was dunked in FEV leading to the conclusion that people still have their human memories after being converted (yes I know lily also evidences the same)
This was amazing. Bethesda objectively knows how to do things like exploration and world design, but I found counterproductive how they handle supermutants: they are now one-dimensional cannibals without hierarchy/organization, beside a couples of very rare exceptions. Supermutants as a whole had a perfect evolution from F1 to F2, only to revert back in F3. I love when games make you think about the human condition. When I kill humanoids in Fallout (like Centaurs in F1, Feral Ghouls in F3, Ghost people in NV) I think often if there is still human consciousness in them and if my character is becoming an horrible person in the act of killing them. I wish in F4 we got more new humanoids on the overworld, instead we got new gross bugs (that were meant as minor side enemies in older games, like a couple of species per game) and various soulless new crabs.
I remember this, the particular super mutant has a flower in his inventory. but I didn't know they were together before he got Vat-ed, i thought it's a Stockholm syndrome thing, since she was in a cell iirc.

Regarding Fisto and the other robots: if it has limbs and at least some fine motor control, you're ready to go. The name "Fisto" is IMO a hint about what goes down as well
Curie is literal proof synths are at least capable of genuine emotion. But the fandom will literally fall into ideologies the games criticize because gamers are just that dumb.
I seem to recall developers of Fallout: New Vegas are against relationships in games, hence, you can't marry or enter into a romantic relationship with characters there. But hooking up with one, human or otherwise, is alright for them. I guess that tells something.

While we're on the topic of love, i think it would be a great idea to do a ranking video on all the romancible characters in Fallout 4 based on their qualities as a partner. For me Maccready would take the top spot. Both the Sole Survivor and he lost a spouse and both have a son who they go on a great adventure to save, so i feel like they can really bond through those similarities. Who's your top pick?
It just so happens, I find Nick, Dima, Currie, Danse, Magnolia, and Sturges to be the absolute bee's knees in the game. Coincidentally, technically, ALL SYNTHS. And Danse, Magnolia, and Sturges, I didn't even know about at one point. Whoops. I would have liked to romance Codsworth on one playthrough but I know he sees us more as an intermediate family member, even if the Handy models obviously can fall for humans. Currie, Danse, Magnolia, and Sturges do fit my type though, in that these Gen 3's all have black hair and there's some kind of charm, straightforwardness, or adorableness to them. I do notice that most Gen 3 Synths from the base game, or at least the ones who hold some sort of significance and are not replacements possess default Nate's black hair. Nick for life, though.

It's just one dev that was against them, Chris Avellone. There were plans for companion romances in FNV but they were scrapped.
