I'm in Egypt not experiencing any of that. I'm out apartment hunting looking for a new view out of my window. I go to the ATM at nite or shopping for food alone. Nobody bothers me. I wear full jewelry and I dress really nice. It's sad to hear some of the stories coming out of W. Africa, another sister, confirmed that black women are getting attacked by Ghanaian women.

There is many aspects to this issue. The country, the quality of law enforcement and policing, the culture and honesty of the locals, your ability to blend in, the people who you socialise with and do business with and the socioeconomic status relative to yours. Your ability to keep your life details, plans and projects secret from those who do not need to know.
Are single black women targeted for exploitation and even deletion? Yes they could be if they allow themselves to be by not taking into account the factors listed above.
The truth is that even a man who does not take these factors into account could invite the risk of deletion and exploitation to himself.

It more or less depends on how you carry yourself for if you come out dressed in silver and gold that will make you a target, but if you come out wearing sack cloth people will go out of their way to avoid you. Thus you must strike the way you carry yourself in the middle as note what I just said goes for women and men. Live a modest life and don't go around flaunting your wealth as that attracts unwanted attention. I heard stories where a man would marry a Filipina woman and almost as soon as everything is settled her family would kill the man so that she could get the life insurance from the government for those that were in the military which was $250K. In America that might not sound like a lot of money but in other places around the world it is.
It's a sad truth that life is cheap to people whom find themselves poor with dreams of making it big by any means necessary. But that is also the case of those that are very rich in that they feel that they can simply buy people and treat them as disposable people that are to be desugared after use. It's a tough world we live in for sure but it's practically bad all over not just Africa as the West and EU countries would have you to believe. As Sandra Bland is dead due to the color of her skin and there are a whole lot more like her that died at the hands of the police in the USA.
So my advice to everyone is just be mindful of how you carry yourself for if you look like pure gold and silver someone will want a piece of you and may even hatch out a plan to take everything from you to include your life so that they can live the dream too.

Athens Georgia where the University of Georgia is located is considered one of the safest places in the U.S. But last week one of the female students was brutally murdered while jogging during the day. This did not happen at night. She was murdered during the day!!! They have arrested the suspect who was an illegal migrant from Venezuela. Classes had been suspended but they are now telling all female students from now on to travel in groups and report their whereabouts at all times to the campus security app. And that is in one of the safest towns in the U.S. full of CCTV cameras and lots of security! So please my Sisters you can come here. INCIDENTS CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE!!! The Gambia is safe. AND YOU DO NOT HAVE TO COME WITH A MAN!! But if you are undecided, you can stay in the Senegambia tourist area which is safe beyond safe. Come for a visit and see for yourself. In the Senegambia area hundreds of women, if not thousands come here alone every year. It is even safer than Athens Georgia!!!

Come on Ashley the problem with Africa America Women they try to bring that American negative attitude to Africa, and it’s not going to work. You have to leave that mentally there. Africa is totally difference and yes there are going to be targeted and yes it can be life threaten because you have no protections. I guess they will learned the hard ways. In South African a man can marry up to 4 wives that there custom, a African woman cannot. Oh by the way I will be in JOHANNESBURY later on this year. The young woman I met in Cape Town she going to University of JOHANNESBURY I told her I will come visit her. Peace

In addition, there must be a mindset of vigilance in diagnosing the minutiae of exactly what’s transpiring in The Gambia (or anywhere), for awareness also combats fear. “… be as wise as serpents but as harmless as doves.”

Your videos are well thought out, educational and very much needed. I have followed your experience of Africa as an African leaving in 🇺🇸 and contemplating moving back we should do more to bring together our people and live together harmoniously. And to our AA brothers and sisters, just because you trace your lineage to a specific part of Africa don’t limit yourself. Africa never had borders before colonizers and any one of the 54 countries you should feel welcome and visit or relocate. I have lived with my AA brothers in 🇺🇸 and have come to understand the struggle, educate myself and see very little differences between us. We all should rise together. Please keep u the good work 🫡

Greeting Ashley, I'm in the Gambia I Love the way you said don't walk in fear but walk fearless. It is true we do stand out . Use it in a positive way the law of attraction is true . One of my friends show me one of the videos about Black women being targeted. My first thought was ok and we come from a country full of crime ever second somebody lose their life . If 6 death happen in 6 month so do you still feel safe.Yes I do because at home 6 death can happen in 6 second. I have been coming back and forth to theGambia since 2021 but last year just like you move from ATL . I have been here for 1 year with my two daughters and I love it. I also do retreat here in Gambia to put that fear behind people mind with the negative things they hear about Africa . My last retreat I did in 10/23 a Mother and daughter come and they bought land and start a garden. A party boat business and register their business so they can do export to the USA . I have assistant many people and encouraging them to think pass fear . Fear whole our people back for many years. When I go to the beach and I see all these white couple on the beach. I wish I see our grandma's and grandpa's feeling fearless. Enjoying life . The media always keep us in fear. Gambia right now is just now getting standard road we all know when they are fixing road and sidewalk. They are coming to steal. We know African American dollar can move things make shit happen. People let think dont get distracted. We are here for a real reason to start school, jobs and business. To reconnect us . To put value back in us with our pride. Stop letting these people trick you out ur spot. Thank You

Romantically speaking, definitely 1000% true,I don't think there's any man on the continent who wouldn't shot their shoot at a beautiful African American woman lol.But in terms of people trying to harm you guys,I don't think that's necessarily true,I doubt those women were harmed because they were African American, they were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, anyone can fall victim to something like that if they're not careful. Please don't fear for your life or anything, the majority of men on the continent are good people,it's just a few bad apples here and there,as long as you have a good circle that cares about you you got nothing to worry about.

Independent women not just African Americans will always be targeted especially in rural Africa. In towns or cities, you can live peacefully without the person next door knowing what you own or how you live. Our societies are patriarchal and there are some practices which should be outdated but are still practiced especially by the uneducated members of the community. Those create room for exploitation and targeting of women. The concept of independent single woman is relatively new in African societies. Even widows were supposed to be inherited by brothers or close relatives of the late husband for “security”. Men want to own you, but this isn’t the case around Nairobi because the dominant community is matriarchal and single independent women isn’t a foreign concept here. Other towns in Kenya are improving in that dimension. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

@@CoderCoder-px4bd you're right. For someone without a solid financial background, climbing the social and economic ladder in Africa isn't easy. However, I believe that if you have money, it's much easier to build an empire in Africa because there are many opportunities to be explored. I am talking about Kenya especially. Africa is diverse. Kenya is equally diverse but Nairobi is quite open to "outsiders". Life will even be easier when one moves here with their spouse rather than expecting to find a spouse here. Our men are easily intimidated by more educated, empowered or moneyed women. Intimidation means that such men will tend to be violent and insecure in relationships. However, I really encourage you to visit Kenya as a tourist. You may love some aspects.

I think part of getting integrated into a new society is figuring out where you stand, your caste (for lack of better word). When we are in the US, no matter how much we earn, we are still associated with a particular caste. And so we tend to find comfort in those circles. When we move to the African continent, the community places us in another class. Some of us reject it and others are completely unaware. This is where some of us are having trouble. For example, some of us go for renting that house for $200 per month. But we don't realize how that is like Oprah renting an apartment in the projects and complaining that people keep scamming her and asking for money 😂. It's not that extreme, but a similar concept. I've learned to accept my new caste and learn from the locals and from foreigners who have been here long term how to stay safe.

Do you feel it is more challenging for an older (anything above 30) "colored" (or considered colored) woman in South Africa to find a husband that doesn't prefer "White" to marry? To me it seems like there's an obsession with romanticizing the idea of "colored" children.

    • @josephshonga178
      @josephshonga178 3 месяца назад

South Africa is a black majority country. The majority of marriages are between black people themselves. The coloured people came about as a result of miscegenation between whites and other races; blacks, Asians and others. To avoid intergrating them with black people and also not wanting them to be part of white society, they declared them a separate race. A race that has evolved with it's own culture and language.
Is there intermarriage between the races? Yes there is, but is their an obsession for coloured babies? Far from it, black South Africans love themselves and are beautiful as they are without wanting to be coloured or have coloured babies.

They'll also wonder if your mindset is "boss or wife". Most of us don't want to deal with it. Sleeping with you and keeping you ARE different things. These aren't digs against any women in the situation, just a counterpoint.

@@AshleyinAfrika Yes...your comment is quite silly. You can't compare Blck American women being targeted in America with Africa. The only similarity is that the targeting is being done primarily by Blck men. You're in a country and on a continent where women have very little rights. i.e. If a man beats his wife the likely outcome will be that the woman will be asked "what did you do to upset him." African countries are the majority of the Top 10 list of countries where women have very little rights if any rights at all and I don't mean women's lib or feminism either. Just basic rights. The chances of the perpetrator being arrested if he harms a woman in Africa is slim that's if they go after him at all. A single blck woman living in Africa makes it much worse for them. IMHO....it's foolish for a single woman with children to immigrate to a country in Africa where women have even less protection or rights.
