As a native Tanzanian who lives in Dar es Salaam since birth, This is rich people expenses for Tanzania, but for an american this is very cheap. Great content
That is astronomical. Most Tanzanians live on less than 10,000 Tsh a day. I respect that you are giving your own perspective, but this is kind of like Bill Gates telling everyone how much it costs to live in the US. I mean, over six million shillings a month? That's top 1% in Tz right there. But the quality you get is certainly more for your money than living in the US! Congrats!
Hello Ashley, this is truly a great review! As a Tanzanian who has been living in the UK for the past four years, I agree with most of what you said. Sometimes it's very hard to wrapp my head around the fact that your household monthly expenses (necessities+luxuries) don't go above 2500$ while renting a room, as a single individual, in the UK costs me around 800£, not including other living expenses like food, transportation, shopping, and entertainment. Life in Tanzania is very cheap and I think this should give more reasons for skilled/working foreigners to live in our country if at all they aim at finding places with affordable and reasonable cost of living.
