Very Positive and encouraging Luke thank you for being so transparent and honest. I'm a 54 years of age Janine having visited Falmouth University years ago whilst on a break to Penzance all the way from up north Lancashire. I chatted to a lecturer from music department and shared a few of my dreams then. Lockdown came, and lots of other stuff that came preventing me starting anything. I have evolved since then and find myself thinking about my ideas and dreams and Falmouth came back to visit my thoughts. There is an open day on 24th and I am booked for it. I remember how serene the gardens were and how much more blessed living near the sea. Hope 2024 is the best new beginnings of creativity and new friends in a diverse artistic community! Glad I found your video, when you said about not feeling like you know enough that encouraged me, I have been out of the system of education of such for a long time and it's all gonna be a bit scary hey! Hopefully there's loads of support at Falmouth. All the best for 2024 Luke😁😀
Thanks for this video! I accepted my unconditional offer to study illustration starting in September 2022. I was anxious that I made the right decision but your comments about the uni are encouraging :)
@@icannotfly5432 wow that’s weird I was also stuck between Falmouth and Bournemouth. I chose fal cause it seemed to have more emphasis on industry links and finding a job at the end of your degree. Good luck making your decision!
Going there to do graphic design. I adored Cornwall on holidays as a kid and constantly was stunned at the fact you could LIVE here? A little anxious to move away so far from family but excited nonetheless. My accommodation isn’t great, in terms of the pricing. But very excited to do four years at this place. Coming from the midlands!
I’ve been dreading it because it’s so far from where I live and I’ve never lived alone but this helps so much. I wanted something just like you’re saying.
Thank you, i have nothing else other than thank you, i'm planning to go falmouth this year after a gap year, and im in EXACTLY the same situation as you were, i really appreciated hearing it from someone like you, your amazing and i could listen to you all day but year it feels so nice to hear you so passionate, the course that im going into is the only course in the country (marine photography and videography) so if i dont get into falmouth i dont want to go anywhere else. i just really needed to hear you talk so positively about it as im a little scared, to be honest im scared and ive not admitted that to anyone so yea to hear you talk so openly has really made me get happy and excited ... thank you
You’re going to love Falmouth! I’m glad my videos have helped in a little way, because I know that before I went I turned to RUclips. I know that course is great so you’ll have a wonderful time.
I have been stressing about applying to game design and not having much experience compared to what others might have but this video has helped massively. Thank you so much
As someone who is quite nervous about the idea of going to uni, especially one that would be as far away as Falmouth if I choose there this put my mind at ease.
I did a Film Degree not at Falmouth, though I have just been accepted for a online MA with Falmouth for Illustration. My plan was always to be an Illusrator but life took me down a different road for awhile. I really enjoyed my Film course and even though I did not pursue a career in Film I learned skills that I adapted into my art and life. University like you said is more than just the qualifications you get, it test you it can mould you and show you what you can achieve. Good luck in all you do 👍
Thank you! Sounds like you’ve led an interesting life, and I really hope Falmouth brings you everything you’d like. Despite being online you should still receive the same spirit ☺️
You will find people with a mixed bag of reviews for everything. The best rated music of all time? Someone hates it. Highest-grossing film? Critics despise it. Ultimately, it's how you feel about the experience, and while Falmouth isn't perfect (nor is any university), I thoroughly loved my time there and I know so many others will. I hope it goes well for you if you decide to go!
Good question! Producing - yes. Marketing - slightly. I know they are attempting to introduce more marketing into the course but there wasn’t an official marketing role when I was studying there. As for producing, it is absolutely possible and one of the core roles!
While I don’t think a gap year is for everyone, I do think it’s a great option. I worked (earned money), while “discovering myself” outside of education and then travelled for a month. It was great and I definitely think more people should consider it!
Anyone thinking of going to Falmouth Uni?
I've got an unconditional for 2022 :)
@@ams1photography175 congratulations! Studying what?
I got an unconditional offer to study Film next year!
Yes! Amazing! Are you excited?
@@JustLukeMorgan So so so so so excited! I've studied film since GCSE but barely any practical experience so I can't wait to start

Not having experience is okay, because a university has to actually teach you something. A willingness to learn will take you much further.
Amazing video!! Thank you ❤

I’m glad to help in a small way. Moving away can be scary, but Falmouth will make you feel right at home 😊
Thank you Luke you are a good presenter with a good voice.
Aw thank you!!
I've been at lincoln uni for almost 3 years studying film :) And my dream now is to take my masters degree at Falmouth!
I’ve heard many great things about the masters at Falmouth! You’ll love it 😊

Hi! You said you were more interesting in producing and marketing etc, are you able to do those things with your film degree?

@@JustLukeMorgan I agree, it’s not really talked about at my sixth form. Did you apply to uni during your gap year then?
shitting bricks for my interview tbh
