Oh god! I remember this! I was in Grade 6! Eto nung medio niche pa ang MYX. But honestly, i loved this era. Kaya yata ako nahilig sa emo/alt rock nung time ba yun eh😂
The original MYX was a haven of alternative niche music video content, local or international during its early formative years. Studio 23 (AMCARA) went all in to distinguish themselves from their ol' partner MTV Asia, kaso iba yung vision ng nag-mamanage nito for this music block, hence they went full MASAfication when they made a full integration with Vid-OK by 2002 in a bid to make the name and brand profitable and to be immortalized by many Filipino youths who would grow up with them in the years to follow.
Truth. Coincidentally, Sky Cable also had MCM debut early that year, so maybe they took a cue from that music channel in terms of programming. Very similar.

Today, MYX had lost its former glory when it merged with MYX Global to form as the new MYX, becoming as a general entertainment channel targeted to the global Asian youth. However, MYX continued to air music oriented programming with the heavy emphasis of airing music videos produced by Star Music, ABS-CBN’s record label. And worst, all of the MYX chart shows are now airing without VJs and as for the MYX International Top 20, it became outdated when they continued to air international music videos as far back from a year ago or two.
True. before it would become 'The Beat of Our Culture", me and my brother ended up waiting for the Daily Top 10 (when Pinoy and International were separate) every afternoon, and watch Pinoy MYX, POP MYX, and many others before it would disappear on digital TV. I even miss the VJs on every show, including the SPOTLIGHT one with Unique Salonga during breaks. Now it is just another dump out of the bin.
Hi, Undust! I used to go here on Myx, for this here videoke stuff, from OPM to international, including K-Pop. Sadly, I lost interest in it, even a year or two before the pandemic/ABS-CBN shutdown. :(

I remember this version of MYX nung mawala yung MTV sa Studio 23. I felt like it's weird, since mejo bata pako non, at pop music lang alam ko 😂
From “more choices, more music” to “Your choice, your music”
And finally 'The Beat of Our Culture'
Ito yung peak na myx dati
Bago naging News Anchor ng TV at Radyo, Ito ang unang pumasok ni Paps Lourd de Veyra sa Myx noong 2001.

On the MYX 15th Anniversary, before the MYX name was chosen, they experimented with different names for ABS-CBN’s music channel like VOL and AMP.

So you have a schedule of which are you going to post? Yes!
This channel is pretty much a spoiler alert of how the FB schedule is going to look.
