The online experience for the next console just needs to be better
Facts, if I have to pay for it then it should at least be a stable connection
The fact you must pay for it, ticks me off as I just got splatoon 2 and 3... Including online. So it ticks me off. I had no interest in the switch online games, but always wanted to play splatoon 2, but... the fact the online is not free is a rip off. The connection is/was worse than the PS3 THAT WAS FOR FREE. The PC is free for online. If it was the Wii U, I could accept the bad connection. I am a PC-gaming first, with a steam deck. Unironically, I would want to pirate splatoon 2 / 3 with pirate servers rather than paying for online. Though I rather wait until the Switch dies before I would do that. Why do we need to pay for online?
I play my Switch on dock mainly. I use Lan Cable as it's faster than Wifi.
With lan cable in Splatoon 3, online, I haven't had communication or connection issues.
at least it’s cheaper than every other consoles online memberships, those online services be costing the price of multiple full priced games

As a splatoon 2&3 player, I hope we get splatoon 4 with the switch 2. As of now that updates are done I might make some mods for side order or the story mode but splatoon 3 gave us good memories and sits at the top of my favorite video games right behind rdr2. Thank you for everything splatoon 3.
Guys, we knew this day would come at some point since the Spl. 3 direct. Don't be sad, look back proud of what this 2 years have been, enjoy what we have now and have hopes for the future.

It ain't perfect, but I still consider Splatoon 3 a worthy addition to the series despite its flaws. We got a fresh take on story mode in Alterna + Side Order, a fun new mode in Tableturf battle, and we got a Salmon Run that's easily the best it's ever been.
I still acknowledge the missteps they took with map design, balance adjustments etc, but I don't think it's as doom & gloom as some are making it out to be. The core pvp gameplay-which is the meat and potatoes of Splatoon-remains fun as hell, especially with all the QoL improvements they've added throughout the game's life cycle.
I will say that those 2 years of updates went by pretty quickly, though. Hope they cook with Splatoon 4 as much as possible.
The peeps not wanting third kits have definitely not played splatoon 1😭
For me personally the biggest disappointment of 3 has been how Deep Cut were pretty much given the middle finger by Nintendo. Especially since this grand fest was probably their one and only chance to get a final fest and it got stolen by them by SS. Still had absolute fun with grand fest and this game as a whole love it and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for 4!

They should either hold a new s3 fest for the 10th anniversary of splatoon or announce s4
@Chopscrewyyy they might do that but it's gonna take months. But what's the point. It's nothing new for splatoon
I hope they find a way to let players still do big runs/challenges/eggstra in private lobbies after they stop the rotations. We'll see what carries over to 4. Not how I wanted 3 to end content wise but it's still incredibly fun and I love salmon.

This is the first time that i went on a walk watching (mostly listening) one of your videos
I can now confirm that from *my* experience the online hasn't been bad. However! Nintendo does need to rent or build their own servers for online play. Pier to pier doesn't cut it anymore when you're paying for the online play.
Didn’t they say that after they added the kensa weapons there would be no more major updates to splat 2 until we bullied them into adding Sheldon’s picks? If we bullied them into adding third kits before we can do it again.

Hopefully splatoon 3 is a lesson for the devs in what to do/not to do for the next game the same way splatoon 2 was

I tried to have no idle bias so known nostalgia bias with squid sisters, so I went with the game when I got serious I never thought of both people who got serious and nostalgia
This game was weak as hell. Only good side is the concerts and story, but like ACNH, it was incredibly lackluster.

I was planning on jumping into the franchise for the first time and buying Splatoon 3 this year. I forgot that Nintendo updates their online games for as long as a singleplayer game. I expect Splatoon 4 to come out for Switch 2 so they can repeat the cycle lol

I feel like the end of splatoon 3 came a little too fast. There was definitely opportunity to add more, change more, or even address more issues with the game. My personal theory is that, way before the end of S3, the devs were informed that a new console was going to be announced and they needed to shift focus on making a new game for the launch. Still, whatever comes next for splatoon, I'll be there!

idk i fell like they will support this game more maybe even 3 kits because they needs SOMETHING at launch of switch 2 so my feeling is them porting this to the console menwhille they work on s4 just a speculation tho
Makes sense. They're definitely shifting focus on the next-gen system.
Splatoon 3 kinda fell off for me since the lackluster first year anniversary update. What really annoyed me was that the devs finally added some much-needed qol patches like that one netcode issue involving getting kills and making it slightly easier to get gold scales via the gatcha. But it feels too little too late as these changes were made during the *final* content update of this game. Personally, I don't see myself going back to this series for a long while.

I already saw that on Around The Clock, and I'm kinda sad and glad that Nintendo ended Splatoon 3.
The reason why I mentioned "I'm kinda sad and glad that Nintendo ended Splatoon 3", because Splatoon 3 has flaws like maps, disconnections, 3-month update, recolored clothes, etc.
God, I hope Nintendo doesn't milk the Splatoon franchise to death like how the other triple AAA companies are doing it, and I hope that Nintendo will do a better job with Splatoon 4 more than 3.
Since team past won, Splatoon 4 is going to be a prequel, right?
Also, I think Splatoon 4 is going to release around later 2020's (around 2027/2028).

Kind of a sad miserable game. The online was ass beginning to end. So depressing when i was so happy for this game from announce to launch, just to be constantly spat in the face by the devs.

Along with that the fandom also continued to grow and be like any other fandom. Thats how it fell off, I liked it when it was niche and actually peaceful. Now its just ragebait, misinformation and constant arguing and copium tweets.

"Neglected" Sure. It's not like they held a ton of splatfests, big runs, and a huge festival send off or anything. What, are Splatoon players just as bad as Fortnite players now, or did I miss something?
@goldenninja9053 As someone who plays both this game and Fortnite, absolutely not. At least the Splatoon community is sometimes positive. Meanwhile, the Fortnite community has just been whining about the state of the game ever since C3S3, with the exceptions being Season OG and Reload.

I’m actually happy their continuing the seasonal splatfest because I missed ALL of them because I burnt out so fast 😅. Fingers crossed they don’t lock the new splatoon to the new console ,because I don’t know if I would buy it just for one game . I’m also the girl who bought a PS5 because of stellar blade so clearly I don’t have good financial skills.
I'm glad they'll be doing reruns of those too. After that 1 year anniversary splatfest, I stopped playing for a bit and missed out on those seasonal ones, so I'll try and not miss those this time lol.
