When Mary was struggling not to laugh during filming, her lower lip would quiver. Whenever I saw her lip quiver, I would immediately burst out laughing. Then I point across the dinner table, "Mary made me laugh!!!"
Thank you, Mary for your genuine love and sharing. I have been binge-watching the Waltons lately; I had not watched them in years; it is like visiting the old homestead; thank you for making a show that still feels like home.
Love the Waltons from watching as a kid and love to this day. My children all watched it and still love it also and now their children watch and love it. Love all the characters and the actors who portrayed them. So happy they all stayed in touch with each other as that makes it even more special. I have all of Mary's books and loved the movie from the book "Honeysuckle Lane". One of the greatest shows of all time. Will you be writing another book Mary?
Yes, I’m getting (old) too. I grew up w the Waltons too, & have always enjoyed watching the show, to this day ❤. I catch it mostly just before bed on the Hallmark drama channel. Find memories, & such a wholesome family show.
I love these interviews about my favorite tv family. Thank you, Ross, for these. Mary, you are the sweetest! I would love to meet you and all your tv siblings in person. I love you all! This show is the absolute best! I am 65 years old and try to watch one every day with my 26 year old daughter who also loves them.
What a great interview. Mary, thank you for the "behind the scene's" feel to Erin Walton. I loved to watch the show, and the common sense solutions. Well Done Lady!
Ben Scott played two of the Hamner Brothers as one character, though I already remember Earl talking about it. I think it was at the very end of the Walton a shows I’m not sure if it was the reunion or one before that it was when they were showing all the cast members, and then the siblings of the Hamner’s and they were talking back-and-forth with the siblings, and the cast members who played who as there are parts .
I love these interviews Ross. They have been just great. I have been fortunate enough to meet all of the main cast except Richard Thomas, Judy Norton, Elleu Corby, and Will Greer. Thank you for all of these great interviews.
I grew up in a small Vermont town, my family would gather round the TV to watch the Waltons every week. It's great to see Erin/ Mary again. I watch Judy Nortons/ Mary Ellen's videos too. She takes us behind the scenes.
Mary and I are the same age and have the same coloring. We were both skinny kids. I heard that I looked like Erin on the Waltons for years. A nice compliment for sure!
Hi Mary and Ross. I always loved your charater Erin. She was a beutiful person inside and out.I felt sad when the men she been in loved with, ended up hurting her.
My favorite. "Erin" I was partial to cute red-haired Irish girls. My first love and all in between to my wife. I was eight or nine when The show began. My mom was a huge fan so my older brothers and sister wouldn't even try to have family watch something else on Walton nights. I think it was Thursday nights in the beginning.
I loved Mary’s character Erin so much that when I got pregnant with my second child I said that I was going to name him or her Erin so I ended up having a boy so his name is Aaron and he just turned 43 yrs. old.
Ross…I commented on one of the other interviews but I just have to say thank you again for doing this. You are a very good interviewer….I will continue to look for you on RUclips 😊😊😊
Wow!! If you get a trip organized to the UK could you join with us to try again for Canada!? Judy has told me that the Toronto/ Niagara on the Lake trip hasn't worked out.😏
John Walmsley was British. But I suppose you mean the refugee children that. stayed with the Baldwin ladies. The boy was played by Kami's brother. My guess is the girl was also an American.
Ross make this get together happen! I have wanted to meet them since a little girl but could never afford to go over to USA. Definitely would be up for this. x
Amazing how kind to go to Scotland adored my amazing father and my grandparents strength emigrating to New Zealand by boat the'Rangitata' in 1951 from Glasgow very proud of my red hair now born in 66
The first time I saw Mary McDonough on tv when I was little was when she was in an infomercial for a vacuum cleaner lol. I'm a big vacuum cleaner nerd, been one since I was a toddler, and the infomercial she hosted was for a vacuum cleaner called the Fantom Fury. It was basically the North American equivalent to a Dyson vacuum back when they were still dual cyclonic. I loved seeing the infomercial when I got the chance. The house that she was hosting the infomercial in was really nice, and seeing the Fantom Fury in action was so cool to me. I really want to get one lol.
Mary you cryed well in john boys room the night that john and Olivia would not let you get married to Josh because they said you were to young johnboy said you were to young and you replied see you even think i am to young. thats when said you would see about that when you and josh went to the reverend. i comend you for that. your a strong women. i adore you. ❤❤💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Mary your beautiful and i love you ! you remind me of myself when you were a teenager on the waltons. i loved the Elopement when you climbed out of the window to run awsy with josh to get married in the middle of the night when you were 16. my iddle name is Mary after my Grandmother. i love your Vharacter on the show. how and where can i buy your book. 👩🦳💗
Mary, I remember the flipping hair epidode from your book! Yes, any little thing and you are tagged. I am a few years older than you but a valley boy myself. Your stress in getting out on Walton summer vacation Late Feb./early March and having to do 3 months of regular school, I feel your pain. Awkward. And you the sensitive type. Horrors. Oh, Mary. I just like you and Erin so much. What is it about you??? Erin grew up into the most wonnderous girl and i take delight in her currently, all over again, weekdays! Well, its a mistake to gush too much, but gosh. Gosh.
It would be sexual harrassment today, but I loved when The Pin-up was waltzing herself down the way and that young GI made a bet with his friend to walk over and kiss you! To your father's dismay! Such an event was in its own place & time and so charming! Mary, I know Johnathan Frakes was the one for you(!) {And what could be more exciting for the fans (me) that after so many years a real Ashley Longworth in the flesh!!!}, but I thought your most compelling and complex romance was with JT. The First Casuality gets me every time. I realize you Walton women grew up with him so you all love him like an old shoe, but the relationship grew into such confusing complexity. Erin, as she matured, grew this amazing sensitivity and heart. A non-sequitur just flew into my head. I want to announce that I think Erin looked her very best in the dark navy sailor dress I am sure you remember as Erin did get a lot of milage out of it.
When Mary was struggling not to laugh during filming, her lower lip would quiver. Whenever I saw her lip quiver, I would immediately burst out laughing. Then I point across the dinner table, "Mary made me laugh!!!"

I had a Huge crush on Mary ( AKA ) Erin, from the 3rd season to Now !
She was and still is so Beautiful and Gorgeous !!
Such a beautiful lady…..my favourite forever.
It was Jim Bob that was a composite character I met the real man , he was such a delight.
And Kami had a cameo in Christmas on honeysuckle lane. Loved the movie. I watch every time it is on. And I have it still in my DVR.
Great interview Mary and Ross....Patrick in Ireland

On the show of the test of Olivia goes to work with Stella I was wondering is Stella the same woman as Cindy's mom or are they different women?
Does anyone know the names of her books?
