      Yes, the kitties love to hang outside the door when I am record the videos. And they love to play with the yarn, so they are the original knittycats (:

    Hi Kitty..I hve learned the long way around a ball of yarn, never ever continue knitting when there is frustration in you. Walk away, take a walk. Then back to the needles with a calm easy hand. Thank you so for your training. You're a peach.

    I think there may be a slight error in the instructions for the end of row 4? You say to take the yarn back to the back before the final knit, but that seems to not give that first brioche stitch for the start of row 1. When I didn't move the yarn it seemed to work.
    Thank you so much for your tutorial videos, they are absolutely the best I have found, both in terms to not starting in the middle of a project and in clarity of instructions. I've been able to learn so much from watching them

      Thanks, Baelfrie! Am finally catching up on RUclips comments and realized that I totally missed this one. Thanks for mentioning about the issues with the instructions. Hope to start posting videos again soon.

      Thanks so much! I have the detailed pattern in the video description, but not sure if you can print from there. You could try to just copy the text from there and paste it into a Word document or something and print it that way. Unfortunately, I don't have this posted on any other knitting site yet, but am working on my website and hope to have all these patterns there soon. Thanks for watching and I do hope you give this a try! Best wishes (:

    Hello, I am trying to do row 5 however the stitches are not matching up. When starting the first row after completing a four row repeat, I have the slip stitch, an alternative color stitch, a main color stitch, and THEN I have the brioche stitch. This lines up with what is shown in your video after you complete the 4th stitch as well. The problem is that when I try to follow the 1st row stitch again for the pattern repeat, I have two extra stitches between the slip stitch and the 1st brioche stitch. What do I do with those two stitches?? According to what you show for your finished 4th row, this matches exactly what I have on my needles as well but I am not seeing how to proceed with the 1st row repeat with the two extra stitches between the slip stitch and the first brioche stitch. Thank you

    • @emilycimo9931
      @emilycimo9931 2 года назад +2

      Hello, I think I figured it out.
      On the last two stitches in the 4th row, you say to slip the alternative color stitch then move the yarn to the back before knitting the edge stitch. I think that in order to start the 1st row repeat, you are not supposed to over the yarn to the back prior to knitting the last stitch in order to have the main color yarn go over the alternative color yarn to create the brioche stitch needed. Please let me know if this is the correct answer, thanks!

    • @KnittycatsKnits
      @KnittycatsKnits  2 года назад +2

      Hi Emily, thanks so much for this question! You are absolutely right and It brought to light for me a mistake in my video on the last part of row 4. At the end of Row 4, in the second to last stitch, you keep the yarn in the front, then slip stitch (thus creating the brioche st for next row, which is row 1), and then knit last stitch. I have described it correctly in the written pattern but clearly messed it up in the video (oops!!). I will post a replacement video on this shortly to correct this and for now, will note this in the video description. I can't thank you enough for bringing this to my attention! Best wishes for your knitting project with this pretty pattern😊

    Thank you so much for this video I had been wondering if there was a way to do it with actual brioche rather than the knit one or purl 1 below method which I do not care for, I actually think the other way is harder. You may want to mention that if you are knitting in the round, that you would only repeat rows 1 and 2

    • @KnittycatsKnits
      @KnittycatsKnits  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks, Robin! I really like this stitch and thanks for your point about knitting it in the round. I had tested it out in a hat pattern and meant to post it as a video (but still need to work on that pattern). I think I will go ahead and post a "knitting this in the round" video in the meantime in the upcoming weeks. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel (:

    Hi Kitty.
    After casting on do I slide the stitches or turn or keep them put and begin Row 1? Oh please answer right away, I'm all set n ready to go!!!

    • @KnittycatsKnits
      @KnittycatsKnits  4 года назад

      Hi Sue, after casting on, you don't need to slide stitches. You just start knitting the set up row (in the same color as the cast on). This is shown in video (see between about 3:30-5:30 min). Hope this helps and best wishes for your project!😃

    Thnks knitty for the small tips befor knitting main project & I would like to ask if we knit round is this the same way we knit like 👒...👜

    • @KnittycatsKnits
      @KnittycatsKnits  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks so much, Nilanthi, and great question about knitting this stitch in the round. I tried it out a few times and essentially you need to cast on an even number of stitches (with MC) on a circular needle (or double-pointed needles) and, joining in the round, do a set-up row (with MC) of *K1, YF, sl1*. Then, do the 4 Rows as follows: Row 1 (with CC): *K1, knit paired stitch and sl yarned over stitch*; Row 2 (with MC): *YF, sl1, BRP*; Row 3 (with CC): *knit paired stitch and sl yarned over stitch, K1*; Row 4 (with MC): *BRP, YF, sl1*. Essentially, Rows 1 and 3 (and Rows 2 and 4) are pretty much the same, except reversed order of the stithes; since knitting in the round, don't need to do any BRK stitches. The only thing is that the part where you join may not look as tidy as it looks when knit in the flat. So, for making a hat for instance, may be better to knit it in the flat and then join, rather than knitting in the round. I will try out a hat pattern with this 2-color stitch and will post a video on it once I a good one to share. But hope this helps in the meantime. Thanks for watching and happy knitting!

    • @KnittycatsKnits

      Thanks, Sang! I had previously posted a 1-color honeycomb brioche video that had a "K1B" stitch (link: ruclips.net/video/N0kXeyDpqnc/видео.html). Also, if you wish to try the 2-color honeycomb brioche with a "K1B" stitch, check out ruclips.net/video/FHvO9OA4Cws/видео.html, but note that it gives a different look than this video. Hope this helps, but let me know if you have other questions. Thanks for watching and do spread the word. Happy knitting! (:

    Can you please let me know how to begin the 5th row

    • @KnittycatsKnits
      @KnittycatsKnits  5 лет назад

      Hi Samidha, there is no 5th row. If you look at the pattern provided in video description and follow along in the video itself, I think it will be clear. After you cast on the stitches, there is a set up row that you only do once. Then you do rows 1 to 4 as stated in pattern (and shown on video). After doing row 4, you would keep repeating rows 1-4 for the pattern. Note that you must use double-pointed needles for the pattern (using regular needles will not work). Hope that helps and best wishes.

  • @samidharane1574

    Wl let you know after completing the pattern

  • @samidharane1574

    Can u please show the beginning after v hv completed the first four rows pl

    • @KnittycatsKnits
      @KnittycatsKnits  5 лет назад

      Samidha, sorry, but doing another extended video on this one is not feasible for me at this time, but hoping the explanation below helps: using main color, once you cast on stitches and do the set-up row (only done once), then turn work and do the four rows (all as shown in video), then at the start of the next 4-row repeat, your needles and yarn placement will be identical to the start of Row 1 (around 5.10 in video). The only difference is that your alternate color will already be joined (since you have already done Rows 1-4 once). So for the next set of row repeats, for Row 1, slip first st (which will be in main color), then knit the next st with the alt color (knitting only the st and not the brioche loop). Note that this alt color yarn will already be hanging in the back. Then you just do rest of Row 1 and next 3 rows per the video. Hope that helps. Let me know if you still have questions or issues. Thanks and happy knitting!😊

    Hi gm I tried to do the pattern the same way u hv shown but the pattern doesn't come out as neat n clear as yours why's it so

    • @KnittycatsKnits
      @KnittycatsKnits  5 лет назад

      Thanks for watching and for the questions, Samidha! This can be a challenging pattern, especially since it involves the brioche stitch and also working on both ends of the needles. It took me a while to practice and get it looking pretty (if you look closely though, you can see that not all the little "honeycombs" in my scarf are of even size). So I would suggest practicing a bit more and watching the tension of the yarn (keeping it consistent as you knit). If you have never done brioche-type knitting before, you may also wish to try my 1-color (easier; ruclips.net/video/4E0rLm3_jXU/видео.html ) or
      2-color (advanced, but knit similar to honeycomb, on double-pointed needles;
      ruclips.net/video/QGyeyWMnqi0/видео.html). I hope it works for you and I am sure your work will soon start looking the way you want it 😊 Thanks and best wishes!

    • @KnittycatsKnits
      @KnittycatsKnits  4 года назад

      Hi Bhavana, the bind off details are in the video description (towards end of the pattern). Briefly, at the end, do 1 row of knit (consider the brioche stitch as a single stitch when you knit) and then it is a regular bind off. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching! Best wishes 😀
