6.9 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions, weighted: 156 g/km; combined electric energy consumption,
weighted: 11.7 kWh/100 km)1 is a real game changer in the 55-year history of AMG. With know-how from Formula 1™, it brings state-of-the-art technologies from motorsport to the road. A two-speed electric motor positioned on the rear axle supports the 2.0-litre turbo engine that is mounted longitudinally at the front. This is the most powerful production four-cylinder in the world. Power delivery and torque build-up occur very spontaneously and without delay: as in Formula 1™, the electric support of the exhaust gas turbocharger eliminates the turbo lag of the combustion engine, while at the same time the electric drive pushes powerfully from a standstill. The electric powertrain and the high-performance battery with 400 volts are AMG-exclusive, in-house developments. They underline the high-end engineering competence of the Affalterbach-based developers. Just like in Formula 1™, the battery is specifically designed for fast power output and draw with innovative direct cooling of the cells. The combined system output is 500 kW (680 hp), the combined maximum system torque 1020 Nm. These are new peak values for the C-Class.

not at all i have never heard of amg but after looking for a new vehicle i will be leasing this in a few months amazing very realiable motor very very fast and sounds absolutely amazing while getting 45 miles a gallon ? i really dont see how anyone can dislike this perfect example of a next generation powerhouse of luxury

Sad the V8 went, but at the same time, that M139L engine is the most power dense Euro 6 compliant production engine ever. Rated at 350kW/470HP, that's 235 HP per liter - f*ing insane.
Aside from the comparable sound to a golf lets see how reliable it will be. The V8 would have more room to spare, whereas this 4 banger needs to keep the battery charged and carry the whole weight too, aside of working harder than a v8 for the same performance. Even when you're not driving it like a maniac.

Yes. It's definitely faster than M3, for 10 seconds.
@Nimish definitely not faster. Carwow tested it on ¼ mile and m3 is faster. M3 is ¹/¹⁰ slower to 100, but faster 100-200.

I have to admit....nearly 700HP out of a 2.0 liter 4 Cylinder is ABSOLUTLY INSANE..But,that DOESN"T mean I like the design choice. I need that beautiful sound from the higher cylinder engines TBH.

One interesting fact about the engine sound. Comparing to my CLA 190 HP also 4 cylinder actually this 670 HP beast has the same exact engine sound :) Ofc here the exhaust makes it way better, but the pure engine sound dude, thats just the same :) Anyways this beast is still my dream car, just amaizing how good it is and also well done with the video!

And when you come to make $100K a year, those 6-digits doesn’t hold the value as it used to (unless it’s something like $200K), you’ll want a house instead, you won’t care about having the fastest car because you would have matured, or MB would’ve transitioned to EV/alternate.
