    I was trying to make socks for my cousin, but the pattern I was using was so time consuming! I'm crocheting over 40 Christmas gifts and did not have the time or patience to spend DAYS on a lot of socks, I saved so much time with this pattern and I'm sure she's going to love them!

    You start the pattern by teaching a half double crochet as: yo, insert through, yo, pull through, (3 on), yo, pull through first, yo, pull through all.
    Then you start doing yo, insert through, yo, pull through, (3 on), yo, pull through all. Without actually teaching this as the new (and proper) way to do a half double crochet.

    I made these with merino will, a 4mm hook, Double crochets instead of half double and adjusting the size.
    THEY ARE SO COMFY I SWEAR!!
    The only thing that's important to note is that it does use up a little more yarn than I thought, maybe because I used thicker yarn, so keep that in mind!

For some reason once I stitched it up it looked a little funny but when I put them on it felt good except for too big so I would definitely change my hook to a smaller one for me anyway.

    I came here after finding this pattern on PINTEREST. I am glad. Watched before making. I have a couple of things to say, first... they’re stinking cute! The pattern looks great. I’m glad that I watched the whole tutorial, because I generally weave as I go. So not weaving leaves sewing thread for the end. Good to know!
    Question: Is it easy to increase size for bigger feet? Not just chain length, but would you have to have more rows for heal and toe? Would the increase be the middle rows of that hour glass shape T the heal, or the decrease/ increase rows? And the lSt question, are these wearable with shoes? How comfortable are they with shoes, too tight? I’m wanting to make these with a cake yarn, that would eliminate tie offs, I would just use a length of yarn to tie off, do you think the thread would be noticeable? Great tutorial... thank you for sharing.

      @@english_with_arina6853 All of the lengths and widths are customizable. Rather than following the exact stitch and row counts in the video, work each section to your foot size. So you start with however many stitches needed to cover your foot width, decrease for a few rows, increase for a few rows, then do the bottom of the foot to the length you need, and repeat those sections. Then you can make the ankle any width you need by adding or removing stitches.

    I stumbled upon this pattern this morning and I’m currently finishing up the cuff of the first sock. I’m using little heavier than worsted weigh yarn. While it’s a fast pattern as I’ll have this completed by Thursday it’s taken me a whole day of working on it it’s 12:30 am now.
    I’m making these into slipper socks for my moms Christmas present. This pattern is very straightforward and easily customizable. Like I’m doing a shorter ribbed cuff. I made all the gifts I’m giving all crocheted because it’s faster. I’m really on a crochet kick. This won’t be my last pair of these socks. I have puffy fabric paint I plan on using on the soles of these socks to make them nonslip.

    • @Sarah-with-an-H
      @Sarah-with-an-H 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@razanhassan909 I went by the video instructions for measuring the foot the width of the foot and the ankle. The socks where a Christmas present for my mom. She prefers shorter cuffs so using the same hook size I did a couple less rows of half double crochet and for the cuff I followed your instructions but instead of 6 stitches I did 4 stitches. I also added puffy fabric paint on the sole of the foot once I stitched the whole sock together. Her feedback is the slipper-socks are the most comfortable socks she now owns. I made them out of yarn that was about American worsted weight or slightly thicker. I used a hook that was just easy to crochet with with the yarn I was using and focused on getting the measurements right. It's going to be a go to pattern for me now. I had the socks completely finished in 3 days. I'm not the fastest at crocheting but that's still really fantastic I made them with less than a week till Christmas.

    I'm a beginner to crochet, and I barely know what any proper terms for stuff are. Keep that in mind. Although I watched you and listen and tried to figure out how to do the beginning of this over and over again, with the way you explained it and showed it I couldn't figure out what you did or how you did what you were doing to get the 16 half double crochet chain thing at the beginning. I just can't figure it out. I've watched it so much and done it so much that I have an actual headache. It's probably something with me honestly. But I can't for the life of me figure out what you did, or how you did it to get that started. I know I'm just one person and it's honestly probably just me over complicating it, but if you could possibly do a RUclips short or a little video or something showing how to start that much closer so i can see what you're doing it would be greatly appreciated. Or if anyone in the comments can figure out a better way to explain it to me too. The reason I'm asking for the video is I can't read instructions, I have to see what the person is doing for anything to stick, but even on a TV I can't figure out what she's doing.

      Hi! I was also confused because of the way it was described, but what she means is a "half double crotchet foundation chain". So, you can Google/RUclips that term, and do the number of stitches required for your foot width. I hope this helps!

    I think this is by far the best pattern I’ve seen for socks!…and the way they fit is just incredible…they slip right on! Thank you SO much!
