    To the people getting annoyed about sponsored videos: Would you rather pay a fee to watch these videos? I highly doubt it. They say on the video before you even click it that it's sponsored so if you don't like them, just avoid them. Why should they do work for us for free? Most people don't do a job for free unless it's for charity or family. They need sponsorships so they can keep bringing us these videos at no cost to us. Let's all be supportive please :) If you don't like the product they use then just substitute with a brand you like, or just enjoy the video and choose another recipe and realize why sponsored videos are necessary.
    All that aside I love Gennaro and Jaime and I will continue to support your channels :D

      +blameitonablackstar I agree with you, but in how many videos do Gennaro or Jamie say: "use a good quality olive oil!" It is conflicting. They should do sponsoring products, which they would honestly recommend..not only because of the money.

      Thank you for this comment. Sponsorship has such a negative stigma surrounding it but I think that people don't consider the alternatives to it; paying for videos.

    A brilliant recipe. I never understood the use of "pasta water" in dishes until I watched Genaro use it ages ago (Pre youtube days). Thank you Genaro you changed how I cook and changed my appreciation of flavours.

    I have cooked this dish 5 or six times recently and to my family, exactly as Gennaro shows, using all the same ingredients only using fresh spaghetti rather than dried. And I can say this very quick and simple dish it is absolutely fantastic, full of fresh flavour, not as hot as you would think using the right chilli......Also don't forget that extra knob of butter and oil at the end either as it really does add a creamy texture and taste along with the grated Pecorino and pasta water. Yum!!
    You can't get bored of this! Using fresh spaghetti this dish can be cooked and served in 5 minutes! Fast food never tasted so good!

    I read all the comments and all I have to say is be thankful that chefs like Gennaro take the time to show you how to cook. Cooking is an individual thing and what's good for one is not for another. Just take it for what it is and keep your negative comments to yourselves. He is a better chef than 99% of you here. I'm a chef and watch other chefs on YT because life is a learning experience and I never stop learning. It is what makes us better chefs. The Italian kitchen is one of the largest in the world. There are so many different delicious foods from every region in Italy and Sicily. Mario Batali is an excellent chef and is a walking encyclopedia of food from the different regions in Italy and Sicily. I learned a lot from him. Same goes for Nick Stellino.

    I made this tonight... Sooo good!! Even though you don't think you put a lot of anchovies in there, the flavor that comes out of it when you taste it is definitely there, nice and salty, but not overpowering. Made it with a nice arugula side salad for some extra veggies. Super simple recipe and definitely worth a try! Loved it!

    In Northern Italy they use butter and sometimes Lard!!!!

      Not so much in Northern Italy but more so in Southern. Furthermore, yes Italians do have pasta dishes with butter. Typically ricotta tortelloni with sage and butter. My girlfriend is fully Italian and i visit Italy every month

    come on guys!!! Bertolli is actually a good brand and it is widely used in the UK. These recipes are directed mostly to the UK market where Bertolli can be easily found. If they started sponsoring expensive hard to find extra virgin olive oil everyone would be complaining about how expensive the recipe is etc etc. His recipes are good (I'm italian) fast and easy, perfect for any meal. There is nothing wrong in sponsoring a product, plus it is also stated in the description. Also keep in mind these video are FREE to watch, and so are the recipes.Great job Gennaro as always :)

    Okay but 4 tiny cloves of garlic and one average sized chilli WILL NOT do it for me lmao. I use a bunch of garlic and like 2 chilli. I like tons of flavour and spice. LOVE this recipe! The simplicity!

      +Andy Gait No. I always cringe when he uses a pair of metal tongs to mix things up inside the pan and you hear it scrapping the bottom for about 10 seconds.

      i see what you mean, but it gives a false impression. The pans he is using are part of Jamie's professional series from Tefal. They are in fact scratch and more heat resistent than normal teflon pans. so it does not damage the pan

      +DeepPurpleIsTheBest I have that exact pan and half the coating has been scraped off by my flat mates using metal utensils. It does not flake as easily as cheap pans, but it is far from scratch proof.

    I tried this recipe! I recommend you people do it 100%! I added Chicken, Mustard, Coriander instead of Parsley and Egg at the end to make it so dang creamy! Blimey!

    I love to use the combination of butter and olive oil to make my sauce for pasta. It's not as greasy as cream or cheese. And It gives a pretty aroma to the dish 😍😍😍

    We have similar dish In Italian restaurant I work for but with Linguine and we add cherry tomatoes. This dish called Linguine alla Zia Maria. I couldn’t find this dish anywhere so I guess my Italian chef made this recipe up but it’s sooo good. I used to hate anchovies but in this dish.. it’s divine

    Mister Gennaro is that one greek uncle of mine. We have a feast with my family. BBQ, grilling, lots of wine and stuff until the evening. Then around 11 in the night ,uncle ''Gennaro'' will get up and make us a pasta with tons of garlic and paprica and chilly flakes

    This is almost the standard "AGLIO, OLIO E PEPERONCINO" pasta which one of the most easy, fast, common and tasty way to eat spaghetti. Just sub the butter for olive oil (the two are often used for the same effect just use what you prefer) and you are good. Don't need to freak out because they used sponsored products, if you don't understand that not all ingredients are mandatory and you are supposed to get inspired from recipes and then figure out what works for you why bother cooking? if you want your hand held all the time eat pre-cooked stuff

      Meetrus Petrus if you want you can decide to don’t put them! Or try with Capperi (capers) they have a salty flavor

      Capers and cherry Tom. Instead anchovies. And don't add butter as well, make the sauce mixing olive oil (good quality one)the juice from cherries and the pasta water. Fantastic!

      I've been making this for years and have never bothered with the anchovies, as long as you properly salt the pasta water you should be good to go... if you feel it still needs more salt then just add... uh... salt... :P
