  • Hello Everyone! Thank you for visiting my channel! In this video, I show how I completed this beautiful Pineapple Quilt. I had a few bumps along the way but I really enjoy creating this stunning block. I used the Pineapple Trim Tool from Creative Grids, solid black fabric from Kona, scrappy blue fabrics from my stash, charcoal Dry Brush from Wilmington for the outer border and a dark gray Minky for the backing. This. Quilt. Is. Heavy! 😁💪 The final size is approximately 95" x 105", which I would call an XL Queen. The photo of the quilt on a bed is shown on a King size bed. I freehand quilted with a meander stitch making sure each tiny piece of fabric was secured with stitches. I used a medium gray So Fine thread. I used a Kona navy for the binding, all stitched by machine. I appreciate you for stopping by! 🌳💚

    I plan to make this quilt with scraps from our guild. We are overwhelmed with scraps, so this will be a great comfort quilt. Some people question that I make complicated quilts for charity quilting, but I’m having fun doing it and we end up with something special for someone.

    Thank you for explaining "round 9". I misplaced the instructions for my ruler and was losing my mind trying to figure out what I was missing. No one else has explained this trim step after round 8 before sewing on the corners. I started my quilt 4 years ago and I'm determined to finish it this spring.

    I made a giant pineapple block a few years ago. It’s maybe 60 inches square. It turned out beautifully except it is super wavy. So it sits in a UFO pile as an unfinished flimsy. I guess I needed a pineapple trim tool. I’ve contemplated cutting it up but I don’t have it in me. You have great tips here.thanks.

      @OxygenFarmQuilts  7 месяцев назад +1

      I bet your pineapple quilt is just lovely! I’m not sure but maybe a very hot iron and steam may help a bit with the flimsiness 🤔 Either way, quilting it may help as well. Plus, it’ll come out of that UFO pile and become someone’s favorite I’m sure. Thank you for sharing ❤️

    This was very, very helpful. Appreciate your time for the walk through of your experience and the great tips! 👍🤗. I found a pineapple quilt ruler at a yard sale (no name brand) and whilst following along with you, this ruler has very similar markings. New quilter here and planning on recycling clothing scraps to begin this fall. I definitely will return to your channel. Thank you again🤗🇨🇦

      Thank you so much! I know if I would have started with the 1 3/4” size I would have been better off. I will definitely make this with scraps for both sections next time. Not so much guilt for the waste Lol 😁
