      I've seen the film twice both in IMAX 3d and a standard cinema, the 20year wait was definitely worth it, and what the producers did for this kid replicates the big heart of Alita in the film not just the brilliant big eyes, which I thought work well for the film since she is a cyborg 💗😎

      so much money and attention to robotize disabled people and meanwhile healthy normal people are dying of hunger and thirst as their their springs and lands they used to grow food are taken and exploited by the people who got the money by building the robots which help only 0.01% who where handicapped become SuperHumans.
      Do I need to repeat that the same money and attention could have been given to really low tech that could have not only helped normal people have basic needs like food and water, but also helped disabled people with decent solutions to simply allow them be part of society instead of "upgrading" them with extremely expensive hi-tech to half-robot.

    • @Luemm3l
      @Luemm3l 5 лет назад +1

      the technology isn't that spectacular or new exactly... basically you use the nerve signals from the muscles still left in the upper arm and assign a movement of the hand to it that way, you can control it. even old mechanical protheses worked that way. of course, this is much more sophisticated and better, but the idea behind it isn't exactly new. the biggest win would be to have sensors that can transmit the feeling of touch, warmth, pain and so on from the prothesis back into the nerves. Not sure if there are artificial limbs available with that, but that would imprpove functionality beyond a mere tool for patients missing limbs, so they still can feel, enjoy touch of sensation and so on.

    She is a true young woman. The incarnation of strenght and refinement. She defeated an illness an managed tonstay alive growing strong and capable. Still, like everybody of us, she needs some help and someone to her side, and is not ashamed of it. This should be a glorious example for a woman. She seems to incarnate all that is beautiful and gracious and heartwarming a young lady shoud be.

    Go see Alita. Any company that would make something like that to help a little girl gets my vote.
    (Yes, I know it is for marketing, they could've spent the same money for Super Bowl ads or something.)
    Go see Captain Marvel if you think that white males like James Cameron shouldn't help girls have a better life. :)

    • @mc_zittrer8793
      @mc_zittrer8793 5 лет назад +16

      Well yeah, I mean there was a marketing angle to this, but it still has more heart than anything any previous director has done in association with their movie. Moreover, Cameron has no active guarantee this campaign to empower amputees will pay off enough to ensure a sequel, but he's doubtless sunk a truckload of money into making this happen, anyway. The man has heart AND balls, so it's only natural I'll support this movie with everything I got. With these advancements becoming more accessible to all amputees, someday they'll all feel closer to superhuman, just like their postergirl Alita.

    Great story... I'm happy this girl was given a much better chance at getting by in life with these prosthetics. A kid I knew in high school got meningitis. He went into a coma and woke up a month later without arms or legs (amputated) . He had the world by the balls. He was nice, popular and then out of nowhere, this virus came and screwed him up bad. I can't imagine how much this negatively affected him.
