Having taken Latin in school, I found the scene with the Roman soldier making Brian parse out "Romans go home" correctly to be absolutely hilarious. Only Monty Python would think to stick something like that in their movie.

If you can , try to obtain this on DVD. I first saw this terrific film 19 years ago. Was living in semi dessert so no neighbours, renovating a Cortijo. It was maybe 2am after it ended and I just layed on the couch reading and munching snacks. After a few minutes, I lept out of my skin because the Monty Python cast - all remaining in character , start shouting and screeching. I can't remember it verbatim but its something like, 'Come on, do something. Make a bloody choice, don't just sit on your arse, get on with it... Lets get some stones, etc' 😂😂
The Bible tells its readers that a donkey once spoke, asking its owner to stop beating it. If the Pythons had included a talking donkey, people would have said _"aw, they've gone too far now"_

Probably the most important film of our generation with ideas & concepts that resonate for all times; the cut parts need to be restored as they better inform the narrative & also refect on the times we are living in now in 2024...
Flipping the screen and cropping half of it off doesn't save you from copyright infringement. It doesn't do anything but ruin the movie for absolutely no reason.

Which means you are missing half of what is going on in the movie. I don't think anyone should watch it like that. It completely ruins the experience.
My first instinct was to say it never gets old, then I saw a dozen+ folks saying the same😂. The definition of a classic! And if you're going to do a "remake" (vs. the Biblical), you'd better do it right!!
