    I ate flax chia and walnuts and think I was still omega-3 deficient, probably my body doesn't convert it too good to EPA/DHA. I had chapped lips all the time and it was hurting really bad, also had depression and didn't sleep very well. I started supplementing with algae oil wich has 600mg dha and 300mg epa and after 2-3 weeks my chapped lips were cured and I sleep a lot better too.

    I've never heard of anyone being deficient in omega 6 as we get much of this from refined oils which are especially abundant in processed foods and meat. Most people are deficient in omega 3 especially epa and dha.

    • @DrAskildsen
      @DrAskildsen 5 лет назад +6

      Correct. Bad meats and food cause that. Eat grass-fed cow, chickens and we wouldn't have this issue. The whole industry is upside down, but we're supposed to eat natural cattle. Never all of these plant products and oils that make us sick.

    • @DingbatToast
      @DingbatToast 5 лет назад

      But if you are watching this video to change your health you will have cut out those things you mentioned and need to maintain an Omega 6 balance with your Omega 3 but in a healthy way.

    • @DrAskildsen
      @DrAskildsen 5 лет назад +4

      DingbatToast: That's just to eat grass-fed chicken eggs and grass-fed beef, then they don't need to worry. But all the food in the store will make you sick. And biggest challenge, cut out sugar, I mean all sugars. Can you do that? Man with the words? I bet not. Why because sugar/glucose draws out C-vitamin, B1, Potassium, magnesium, so you end up with a deficiency in these vitamins and minerals by consuming that sugar or plant food. The USA is already plant-based because food contains sugar like corn sirup a the other 50 sugar names the mask it behind. And if you go carnivore, you don't need to worry about going to the dentist, because you will be immune to caries. Just look at the Massai warriors, they don't have any dental problems.

    Things that could have been mentioned is that our typical ratios are pretty close to 15:1 from all the fried food we eat. Also ALA needs to be converted to DHA for the body to use it (which is inhibited by high unsaturated fat including ALA itself). Best advice in my opinion is to use algae DHA right off the bat. Flax seed is better than oil because of added fiber, folate and other great nutrients but just grind it or roast it to ensure you actually absorb it. Glad fish wasn't recommended for once! Thanks for the video Mr. Berg.

    • @Magnulus76
      @Magnulus76 3 года назад +1

      Chia seeds have more omega 3's than flax oil, and they don't have to be ground to be eaten (however, they should be soaked until they swell up quite a bit). Both are very healthy and contain alot of antioxidants.

    • @tarquinbristow
      @tarquinbristow 2 года назад +4

      @@memenazi7078 my apologies for responding from a different account, but to get to the point. Fish has a number of issues as a regular dietary component, the most concerning to your health being the accumulation of heavy metals like lead and mercury through the food chain. Fish consumption has also shown to cause increased inflation in the body which negates the anti-inflationary effects of DHA and is the precursor of just about every lifestyle disease. The third thing about fish is that the industry is highly unethical and is devastating ocean ecology with impunity. Just have some flax.

    Yep, I'm going to need some Omega oil's. Would it be better to buy a bottle with multiple types of Omega oil's or should i buy the specific Omega oil that i need for a more direct benefit?

    Why is 6s are considered the bad oils and 3s the good oils? is it that both are good oils in the right ratios?

    • @rayda3357
      @rayda3357 3 года назад

      Yess so atm society consumes too much 6s which cause a imbalances in out body.
      Also if we're not consuming enough omega 3s then it effects our anti inflammatory responses omega 3 provides that.
      Too much of one thing become harmful I guess even if it's good in its origin

  • @JamesBarbella

    Obviously, the balance between Omega-3 and Omega-6 is essential. Unfortunately, the Omega-6 value is much higher than the Omega-3 f. acids, due to our food consumption behavior. Humanity should constantly seek and keep the balance.
    People, this is important.

    I feel overwhelmed because I don't know where to start on addressing health issues. Kind of went overboard on ordering supplements recently but I wish I had just ordered from you. Feel as if I'm going crazy..Need to help family members as well as myself. All your videos are excellent & I want to send links to everybody I know. It also does my head in worrying about all the people putting garbage dressed as "food" in their trollies, as well as the fact that we're constantly being lied to. I think I want to go to bed & pull the covers over my head now.. Please make a philosophical video on how to cope with reality & stay sane..esp when family members don't want to know the truth.

      You don't need to worry about phytoestrogens as they only affect plants. But you do need to worry about actual estrogen found in milk and dairy.
