I had this decision to make last year when it came time to replace our '15 Forester. I really wanted to love the CRV Sport Touring model, which would have been our 5th Honda since 2005. It would have also been a stable mate to our '21 Passport Elite which has been an awesome vehicle for us. I had done a lot of research before taking any test drives and had ruled out the Nissan Rogue, the Mazda CX5 & CX50, & the Subaru Forester. It came down to the Honda & the Toyota and would have to be a hybrid. Since Honda was my first choice after months of research, we test drove a new Sport Touring and my wife & I were both underwhelmed. I liked the comfort, the size, and the quiet interior, but there were just too many other things about it that screamed NO! We then tried to find a new RAV4 Limited hybrid to test drive, but there were none anywhere within 500 miles to try out. I finally found a used '22 model with 19K miles on it & we both knew the Toyota was the right vehicle for us. The only issue was availability. We were told it would be a 16-18 month wait for the vehicle we wanted, unless someone opted out of the one they had ordered. We then went back & test drove another CRV Sport Touring, but I was even less impressed the second time. The same blah black wheels our Passport has, the fake dual exhaust ports, the ugly non-foglight inserts, the piped in exhaust sounds through the sound system were just too many things I couldn't live with. We specced out & ordered a new RAV4 Limited hybrid from 2 different dealers in May and took delivery on our new one the end of July, over a year sooner than we had been told. With over 12,000 miles on it now, Built in Japan, it has been flawless & is becoming my favorite vehicle in over 56 years of car purchases.

New CR-V looks way better than RAV4. Rav4 is a bit overdone with being rugged.

Top on my list was the new CRV Hybrid because I've been driving Honda & mostly the Vezel. But now seeing the reliability of Toyota & its high fuel efficiency, I've will buy the new RAV4 Adventure Hybrid as I can do a little bit off-roading with it when I'll out with my family. I don't mind the heck at all if a little bit of road noise gets into the cabin as after all I want efficient , reliability & off road capabilities which I can find in the RAV 4 instead of the CRV.

Buy the Hybrid Woodland edition instead of TRD for more efficiency, smoother and quieter experience.

In my country, it's like waiting for 2 years to get a new one. Therefore I had a guy from a local company who imported a 2022 Japanese RAV4 Adventure Hybrid with only 5000kms of mileage. Its color is urban kaki. Great vehicle & highly economical & reliable. Toyota has indeed created an awesome vehicle. Despite it's a reconditioned RAV4, it's same as new. I love it. I'll keep it for around 10 yrs I think.

Our Limited is as quiet as the 2 Sport Tourings we test drove. I traded the crap OE Dunlop tires off for new Michelin Defender2 tires & it transformed the ride, handling & road noise.

Both companies are top notch you qould never go wrong with either.. im moremofma toyota fan however i do favor the Honda Crv in this comparison due to the design stule and modern looking advantage Toyota ahould follow suit and work on improving their design to moders sleek look and they will probably steal some of their competition as they already got the rest down as in reliability etc .. but again both fantastic cars

Toyota interior in the LE is pretty sub par as is the noisy cabin. The problem with Honda is their engines are a bit more of a long term risk but do your research.

CR-V Hybrid has a better AWD system than the RAV-4. This video compares with the lower end CR-V.
