Loved the Drago storyline. It never crossed my mind what happened to him after he lost.
Came from a critical video and you’re pfp is too comment that’s funny
Coming from watching some Hasanabi/Moistcritikal vids about how horrible the world/it's people are right now, went to the comments and your PFP instantly gave me both appreciation and dread simultaneously.
Exactly, nobody cares about 2 place .
it shows in creed 3
and keep in mind, this was back when Russia was still the Soviets, so it was worse then anything that could've happened afterwards
It's also important to mention one deleted scene, where Adonis visits Drago's son post-fight and Rocky and Ivan part ways. One of the best scenes in the movie, sadly cut out.
Aside from character building it also breaks the cycle. They can create something new rather than have the rivalry or bitterness continue. Cue the trailer where drago returns as a sparring partner.
@@Itachisimplysuperiorexcept creed three which was awful
@@lukejorgensen9599 no it wasn't
@@THECOLLEGEKID51 Just ignore him. Theres always the contrarian these days no matter how good a movie is.
@@Sam-im5tc Or he just has a different opinion on the film. Could be that.
I think my fav part of this film is how relatively subdued Drago is in this movie. Lundgren gives so much suppressed anger and sadness off without being a caricature
@@Itachisimplysuperiordamn how many times you gonna comment the same thing
The deleted locker room scene deserves 5 wins. It adds so much to the characters and also puts a satisfying closure to them. And also the ringwalks in this movie is straight fire
How did you not win Viktor’s final entrance, the sad piano notes mixed in with the anthem… Ludwig is a maestro.
DUUUUUDE i love that theme so much
I was thinking that too. One of my favorite scenes in the movie
Wanted to make this comment but being 2 weeks too late, it might already be commented. You did.
I appreciate you recognizing how good "he's a balanced breakfast" is as a compliment cause I started throwing that into my lexicon when this movie came out
I always laughed and agreed at that line.
Rarely do I think you missed a win, but one is needed for Rocky and Drago's meeting in the restaurant. Sly's look like he's seeing a ghost, Dolph speaking more words in that one scene than the entirety of Rocky IV, and Rocky not sitting at the same table as Drago so he can stay out of Drago's reach. I love this movie, but that scene is arguably my favorite.
I love that this series acknowledges that life goes on. We love. We lose. We get old. We die. Even after our “story” is done
16:31 Not gonna lie when the Rocky music started playing I got all teary eyed. Definitely an emotional scene.
I get it.
What you said about his wife when he said she left him is exactly what I spent the whole movie thinking to myself.
If she left him because he lost *one* fight, albeit the most important one in his career, maybe she was never his in the first place. I hate that he beats himself up over it, but at least he is able to let go of his anger in the end. This movie did a great job of humanizing Drago to the point where I found myself thinking:
"She doesn't deserve you, big man."
Agree, love how in the end he decides to choose his son. He chooses the family he truly loves and loves him back over the one that never truly loved him.
Not sure he would’ve thrown the towel in if she hadn’t left.
So maybe … she saved his life by being a total bitch?
😳
Damn, now I need a 🥃
Cheers
This film got me with the baby testing scene. My son was born with autism level 3 and that feeling of hopelessness and not being in control can make you feel like you are going mad. It literally made me tear up because I've had that conversation with myself. Hit me like a ton of bricks. When we were getting tests done and getting bad news....for our kid....it was so hard. It changes you.
It's similar to grief in a way, you had a plan in your head and that plan is now upside down and backward for your little one. You look for who to blame when it's no ones fault it's just part of life. You can either let it take you over and be a victim of it or you can get up put one foot in front of the other and formulate a plan, execute it to the best of your ability and love them.
Still one of the best film sequels ever.
@Itachi Is superior to you we get it. you've posted this numerous times. jesus
@Itachi Is superior to you you got a lot of time on your hands i see. didn't know RUclips paid repetitive commenters now. enjoy the rest of this convo with yourself.
@@Itachisimplysuperiorbore off. You don’t need to comment the same thing all the time. Get a life ffs.
I feel like Rocky reuniting with his estranged son and meeting his grandson was the perfect moment to close the chapter on for him whether Sylvester had chosen to return instead of choosing to stay out. Its a perfect moment for him to kind of truly settle down and pass the baton truly
My ONLY issue when I saw Creed II was that Drago senior never showed remorse for killing Apollo Creed. And the best time to show that was when he was sitting in the restaurant or in the deleted locker scene where he could have asked forgives from Adonis
As someone who wrestled in high school, what you said about hearing someone at 15:18 you sorta tone out everyone in the stands, parents, teammates, everyone….except your coach.
There were times I could hear exactly what I needed to do from my coach despite 7 other matches going on at once at a tournament.
I really hope the rumours of a
Drago spin-off are true. If there are any characters that deserve be explored further it’s Ivan and Viktor.
I cried with the drago story and with the scene of rocky sitting there giving the torch to creed, just, just, I went to the movie theater twice to see it and both times I cried
This movie had one of the most memorable, gut-wrenching close-ups I've ever seen.
When Creed hears the news about his daughter Amara (Lee mentioned the tests in this video), the camera just very, very slowly dollies toward his face in a fairly long take. Iirc, we don't hear the doctor actually say the results, but we know what they are because of the way Adonis' face dissolves into tears.
Michael B. Jordan's performance is so good! The way his lip starts to quiver, his eyes reddening, every muscle in his face tensing. You literally see the tears forming and spilling out. Gave me straight shivers when I saw it in the theater. I couldn't help but cry with him. Give this man all the awards, please and thank you!
I’m sure you noticed and just didn’t mention, but in the original Rocky series, Duke tells Apollo to be careful because “Rocky’s dangerous” to which Apollo replies “I’m dangerous!” Fun little throwback when Adonis has that little outburst, and definitely a win.
Did you know that boxing got more dangerous when they started wearing gloves? Before that they would rarely hit the head because you would break your hand on a jaw. So it was a lot more focused on body blows
Man, I remember actually tearing up when Viktor got up after Ludmilla left. The man didn't just have nothing left, he was so devastated... I remember pleading at the screen for Donnie to let up, I felt such genuine pity for him.
You should do everything great about Monsters Inc next
Especially Monsters University, arguably a sequel that was very underappreciated
This ended up being the movie that made a sequel that aged terribly for me personally, pretty interesting. Cause this in so many ways was an unexpected deep dive into the flip side of the coin.
We knew how that Russia fight hit Rocky. We saw it unfold in V and to a lesser extent in Creed where he was at a place where he just gave up on the fight game entirely until Adonis showed up.
Ivan and Viktor were villains no doubt, but they were driven by different things. Ivan sought redemption through his son which is why he pushed as hard as he did. Creed tying off the loose end with Wheeler and getting his Mustang back.
First fight, Creed gets beat soundly and if not for that extra F-U shot from Drago, it's a wrap. Rocky not being in his corner was one part of it, the other was simply put, twofold. One, Drago was unbelievably brutal. Ivan as we know, was physically enhanced. Viktor was just a brutally created monster who knew how to pick you apart. QUICKLY. Like his father, he was rangy but quicker which meant you had no real 'minimum safe distance' with him. As Rocky later told Adonis, his style was not going to work against Viktor. The other was motivation. Adonis wasn't clear on why he was fighting and the worst possible thing you can be fueled by is fear.
Once Rocky got back in the mix, got his mind right and got the gameplan it was on. Viktor never forgave his mother or the country for what they did to his father. Sons are usually less than forgiving of that sort of thing when they see it. Viktor once he saw those empty chairs, checked out. That combined with Creed not staying down, it was over. Ivan throws in the towel to spare his son, cause inevitably he was going to be put down by Creed.
Overall, this was a proper tie off to the 4th movie. It also shockingly redeemed Ivan who lest we forget, BEAT APOLLO TO DEATH.
the way ludwig threads fighting stronger throughout this score is just immaculate.
LETS GO!!!!!!
Drago's storyline really reeled me in as he lost everything, it motivated him to regain that glory he had back in the 80's, and every single actor did amazingly in this follow up, Tessa and Michael's chemistry is palpable. I saw Creed 3 last night and it was glorious, the anime styles are definitely there in the fights.
I just saw a Creed 3 last night, it was good. A solid 3.9 out of 5. Some things were definitely formula driven, but it worked without it being over done in a sense. It's what you expect in a boxing 🥊 movie.
It was a good movie, wasn’t as good as the first 2. It’s a shame Sly couldn’t be in it, there were definitely some scenes that I felt were screaming out for his character to be there.
I’d give it a good 3.5 out of 5
@@kylefettes4662 movie was definitely better than 2
I personally loved it. It did miss Stallone though. Would’ve been nice to see the relationship between him and creed’s daughter. Not to mention, his advice in life. It did miss that old Rocky wisdom. That being said the fight scenes were done amazingly well, and it was completely different to what we’ve seen before. Also really liked the story. You could feel the guilt and tension. Truly loved it.
I saw Creed 3 today. I love it. Is it the best of the trilogy? No. It was a very personal and emotional story and I think that was why Stallone's Rocky was not in it. Still, it was weird to see a Rockyverse movie without Rock. The good thing, Rock COULD return as he was not killed off.
is my favorite of the creed trilogy lol
I loved how Victor wasn’t exactly a bad guy in this movie! He just wanted to make his father proud and win for him. And Ivan later realizes that he’s rather throw in the towel and lose the match then lose his son
I actually teared up at the end of this movie with both rocky and Apollo seeing their grandkids for the first time
9:54 Also fun fact three guys broke into his house planning to rob him but shit their pants and ran for the hills when they learned it was Dolph they were robbing. Yes they were terrified this man would go Liam Neeson on their asses.
On paper its like fan fiction. And shouldnt have worked.. But dude this movie was so good. And yes Florian for a forst time actor blew me away. He has limited lines but hes so expresive with hsi face and eyes. Those giant puppy dog eyes. Like love it
Please do a video for "Tucker & Dale vs. Evil." One of my favorite films, and made me realize that some great movies have really terrible posters
Honestly. Michael b jordan did a GREAT job on his directorial debut and it was honestly fanfare for boxers because he had bud crawford, jose benavidez, canelo of all people in the movie. He had real trainers like boogh and the mittqueen and it was great to see boxing be brought back to the big screen. The visuals were great and it was an all around good movie, but these first two creed movies, he had a chip on his shoulder and these movies always get to me… more than the third creed ever could.
This is my favorite film out of the entire series! I hope you do Creed 3 it was a good film but we all did miss the Rocky character
Keep in mind that in Rocky 2, Apollo was warned to stay away from Rocky because he's dangerous. Creed responds, just as Donnie did, "I'm dangerous!!"
I too am a sucker for the training montages! Ivan throwing in the towel made me tear up big time. Looking forward to number 3!
"No IRL punch has ever landed as hard and loud as that right Donnie just took."
I recommend looking up the body shot Roy Jones Jr. hit Virgil Hill with :P
Fastest watch ever! This film hold such a special place in my heart and doesn’t get the recognition it deserves 🔥🔥
Only extra win I’d give is that when Donnie is down at the end and the sound fades, the only person you can hear telling him to get up is Bianca.
I'm so thankful that you're going to do black panther Wakanda Forever because I want you to answer a legitimately interesting question: Would the film have been just as good if chadwick Boseman was still alive Because I feel like most of the dramatic beautiful and sad scenes in this movie Couldn't be there if he was Plus without that, the main character and antagonist wouldn't have anything in common
Simple fact is that Wakanda forever would have been a completely different movie if Chadwick was still with us.
The movie had to be completely rewritten after he died. Namor wouldn't have been the same character.
It would have still been good, but you can't ponder the question because they would have been two completely different movies and sadly we'll never know just how different
*It's funny and interesting how this movie and Cobra Kai did with their "villains" and show them that they're humans behind all their evilness, that there's a reason as to why they are how they are*
i feel like CWs view of rocky’s “little nuggets of wisdom” can be transferred over to his channel as well. watching cinemawins vs cinemasins you can just tell that while neither are bad people, cinemawins just has a far more positive view on the world, he sees everything good he possibly can where cinemasins likes to jab at mistakes and failures
This is perfect because I’m watching Creed 3 in an hour, loved the first one, never watched the second. Insane timing
You should definitely watch the 2nd one
the rocky theme plus the relationship between Viktor and Ivan was really good
its not a perfect film and a lot of it is expected but the execution was great.
I love the general trend of villians being real human beings in the last 5-10 years tbh. Not all do it, but a lot more than it used to be. Anyways, one of these days I am gonna go back and count how many of these I have asked for arcane on, and one week after that day, I hope it finds its way to your list. If you tack it on after the next couple weeks, you can keep the current trend going...
I had not been doing well the last couple of days. Skipped my workout and was very nearly going to do so again. Then, I watched this video. There's no better motivation than the Rocky/Creed franchise. I've told people often that whenever the Rocky theme comes on during a workout, you must immediately intensify your workout 😆.
Fun fact, Drago's newspaper clipping in the beginning is actually in Ukrainian Cyrillic. Despite this, Drago is from Moscow and, with the USSR's standardizing of Russian as a primary language throughout the union, Drago probably can't read what it says.
He probably can read it, but interesting detail
My most favorite scene in in creed two was when he was training in the desert with rocky it was awesome.
It's cool because they make Victor like rocky because in rocky in his first fight he gets headbutt and then beats the guy up like Victor
Im thinking of watching the creed movies before creed 3 comes out, Im gonna watch these first though. Also PLEASE so Puss in boots: The last wish, I loved that movie.
20:40 Okay! I definitely know what next week's EGA video is going to be but here's a list of suggestions to consider for future EGA videos:
-James & the Giant Peach (Because you need to do more EGA videos on Stop-Motion Films)
-The Land Before Time (Regal Cinemas is actually Re-Releasing this film in theaters for March, so it would be the perfect film to do for an EGA video)
-Crazy, Rich Asians (Because you stated that you might consider it in previous EGA videos)
-Strange World (Because it doesn't deserve all the hate it's getting & you can fix that)
-Loki (Disney+ Series. Given that it's somewhat relevant to Quantumania, which is already out in theaters, you should do a series of EGA videos on it like what you did with WandaVision)
-Shrek or Puss in Boots (Because you'll eventually have to do an EGA video on The Last Wish)
-Super Mario Bros (1993 Film. In preparation for the Animated Film coming out this year)
-Star Wars: Clone Wars (2008 Film)
-The Lost World: Jurassic Park (Because you said that you might eventually get to it this year)
-The Little Mermaid (In preparation for the Live Action Remake coming out this year)
The moment of Adonis' proposal hit me so hard. Just him going for it and it seeming like its working but then realising she didn't hear him, laughing at the absurdity while feeling deep sadness because of what it meant, what both of them must feel in that moment. Crazy how it took me right with them on that literal rollercoaster of emotions. And then the story somehow finding a way to curve it into a sweet moment between the two.
What or who does this movie think it is?
I love that both of the first two Creed movies...accomplished something that would have been seen as impossible before they came out. Creed I earned the moment where Rocky Balboa gave up. Creed II turned cartoonish Soviet stand-in Ivan Drago and made him human.
I love all Rocky movies I couldn't find Rocky 6 but I saw a story recap I saw everything right about creed 1 I didn't see that one now I know what it was about. I saw creed 2 I loved it now I'm all caught up and tomorrow I'm seeing creed 3 in theaters with 2 of my college friends.
“What are you gonna do hit a guy who you’re falling in love with? I don’t think so.” I love Lee 🤣
I love that in first match Donnie wore the red white and blue shorts, but in the second fight it looks like same shorts but darker
I love these movies and I’m so ready for next week’s episode. We getting an MBJ marathon
2:25 THE SCENE WHEN HE PROPOSED BUT SHE TOOK HER EARS OFF WAS SO CUTE THO 🥹
about this review: it is missing the one of the best scene from the movie: the deleted conversation between Adonis and Viktor post match. It really put everyone involved in a different light, and totally change how we view about their relationship from that point onward.
Am i the only one that uses this YT channel as a way to figure out what movie to watch to then later come back and watch the review and go "Ohh ye i remember that"
ivan throwing in the towel for viktor makes me bawl every single time.
This movie humanized the antagonist too much such that I was rooting for Drago for the most part 😂. Creed was just living a comfortable rich life fighting for his pride but Drago was fighting to redeem his dignity
SO excited for next week! Wakanda Forever is in my top 3 Marvel movies now, watched it twice and it absolutely broke me both times
creed throwing a combo at the ground to get up through the pain, chillllllllllls. boys built different
17:28 for this was this true passing of the torch. I got this same feeling in Boruto when Naruto made a Rasengan with his son. It felt like a great way to send off Rocky, but not forgetting the legacy he left behind
I love you and thank you for the content you make. I am so happy I can watch someones channel and feel so much joy. you help me through times of sorrow and you help me see the light in things that maybe I don't like the first time around. Just, thank you, thank you for being yourself and thank you for all the joy you've brought me in dark times. love you Lee! keep being you. :)
I was just waiting for this video I loved it, i cried two times during this video, this movie is so deep and is why i love these films just a masterclass
Watched the Creed movies just now because of your first video. Love them both, thank you for convincing me!
Back to back on the Sins and Wins channels. I’m so happy to have this before watching Creed III
Hey Cinemawins, love the video, but I did want to point one thing out. Stallone is not in Creed III because of differences with Jordan and the director of the third film, not because he passed on a legacy. Saying that Stallone has passed it on is a disservice to the man who built this world for us. I hope they do well in Creed III, but I did want to recognize that Stallone has been left behind because people who do not have Stallone's vision have moved him out of the Rocky franchise. Great video, friend, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
12:35 It may not be the exact same exercise, but a lot of Japanese pro wrestlers will do double to triple digit neck crunches in their regular workouts to strengthen their neck to take the insane neck bumps Japanese pro wrestling is known for
Everything Great about Chef (2014)!
PLEASE! You're gonna love this movie!
you should have added "my son will break your boy." cool ass throwback to "i must break you."
Florian Munteanu is an absolute unit. Romanian represent.
would love to see the creed series ending with viktor winning for himself and maybe even his dad after passing away after redeeming himself to viktor
I also love how Creed can beat Drago in the first match, even against a literal giant he's there. And fighting.
Then he gets easily the upper hand (huh, punchline) in the second match.
WAKANDA FOREVER!! My first ever time getting the teaser frame. 😁
Loved this video Lee! And can't wait til next video! I don't know how big you are into anime, but one of the best comparisons I've heard for Viktor is the newest iteration of Broly. A giant, hulking, talented fighter, but who is pushed into being a killer and is just a pure hearted person who knows nothing else.
Yes! Been waiting for this! Love your channel!
I really don't care about boxing and I've never seen the Rocky movies but these Creed movies hit hard - pun intended.
I’m never this early for a CinemaWins, I love it
14:27 sounding dangerously close to Mike Tyson...
Glad you included the Lundgren facts, respect indeed :)
Heh. Talking about winking or whispering sweet nothings reminds me of those women MMA fighters that were facing off, and one went to kind of fake-kiss the other, and the other was like "hell yeah!" and went for it. They didn't end up kissing, but they did laugh and kind of gently touch each other, and I loved it.
I genuinely hope they hooked up after the match.
Can't wait for your take on Creed III..
GREAT JOB MAN!
Saw Creed 3 and gosh there’s so much to talk about, can’t wait for the episode.
After seeing all the Creed films, saw the third one yesterday, I’d have to say that Creed II is my favorite of the three. It just has so many good character moments and dynamics that makes it irresistible. The first one was great and the third one, while great, was sorely missing Rocky’s presence. Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors are fantastic in the film but ultimately, I found Dolph Lundgren’s return as Ivan Drago to be much more interesting and emotionally impactful. Maybe that’s just me.
I thought the same, 3 was a good movie but it wasn’t nearly as good as the other 2.
Some scenes definitely felt like Rocky needed to be there even just as a smaller part to give Adonis advice on a big part of the plot.
@@kylefettes4662 exactly! It also felt like Rocky just wasn’t around anymore. He could’ve gave Adonis a call or something or even show up at a certain character’s funeral, but didn’t. Just odd.
7:37 a Rocky watcher would know he doesn’t like flying
One thing I love is how good Max Kellerman is during the commentary
i just got a kia commercial set to the rocky theme, love to see it.
the head bopping is realistic cuz drago is the bigger guy so drago has a lot of advantages on hitting the head more than the body so creed is head bopping cuz he knows that the head is the most vulnerable
The creed movies are some of the only movies that consistently make me cry
Rewatched the movie yesterday anticipating this video
It is impossible for me to have any sympathy for Ivan Drago. Like, I can't feel bad for him. Viktor, on the other hand, was great in this and I'm so glad he's back for a bit in Creed III.
When your boxing you learn to hear your coaches and adjust based on what they’re saying, I did kickboxing and although I haven’t had an amateur fight, I have sparred with coaches giving advice, and after a while you learn to be hyper focused while also being aware of what’s being said to you
My man. Give Arcane (Season 1) a chance to blow you away with everything that is has. If there's one show that can be staggering in every single aspect you can ever think of, it's Arcane for sure. Give it a chance!!!

The part about Sylvester Stallone tribute to his real life son in this movie! Because this was his son’s favorite franchise and apparently he died before this movie! I think this is my favorite sly acting In the rocky franchise!

All right now that we‘re with the boxing theme id have two suggestions. The first is „bleed for this“ with miles teller and the other is „southpaw“ with jake gyllenhaal !!
