ADVANCED TIP : you can throw sleep or poison darts into a fire source and it will create a large plume of gas. I threw a sleep dart into a burning enemy and it knocked out like 6 people. You're welcome!

I love this game. Completely revived ac for me... I think I’m just addicted to rarity loot lol.. and perks. Random rolls would’ve been kinda cool but I like the idea of “exotic” by that I mean named stuff wth set rolls.

i miss some of the old fighting, when it came down to the counter kills and the variety of weapons you could use, i especially miss the fact that you could disarm the other guy and use his own weapon against him while at the same time other opponents would react to how swiftly you took down their captain, as they would show physical fear and would be vulnerable to the player, i found using a shield useless in origins.
it's more of a dodge, hack and slash. i did however like the fact i could use a bow. but when it came down to the use of smoke bombs to execute in using them made no sense, i understand they were an passive ability. but it's a dumbed down way of fighting.
it would have been great if we were allowed to make our own weapons and poisons smoke bombs instead of just improving them at the overly simplified version of a forge that only improved the weapon based on your level of the player. or through the perk system.
i did enjoy the game other than this stuff i have mentioned. the story was great the scenery was great the soundtrack was great.
Well, Galatine (level 40) was easier than expected. I just stole his chariot and kept running him over until he was finished 😂😂😂

Tip for people who want to kill the outsider when he first appears. With some extra time and a little luck you can lure him into Paraitonion, there is a level 37-40 lion pack shortly after the border near the coast. FEED HIM TO THE LIONS!!

I have a suggestion, use the hunter’s instinct ability so you can the. Use senu to track their movement. Find an area where their are alone, with a very high point you that they can’t climb(it’s hard for them to climb) then use your predator and hunter’s bow along with fire bombs and poison darts until they die. I have only killed 7 sofar but I am doing every side quest that I can to get those valuable ability points. I have tried to be at least 2 levels above them. For the 2 level 40 ones I plan to have Master hunter and seer at 7 ability points or higher

I've also had good luck using my horse against these bosses. Since the 3 I've killed so far use quite heavy and slow weapons, I was able to circle around them on horseback and take them out without getting hit.

The Scepter with the combo multiplier is low-key the best boss fight weapon in the game. Used it on Phylakes and elephants.
I killed (almost) all of them using the same tactic. I rode up on horseback and stuck them with predator arrows. The ones on horse/chariots fall off after a few good hits. Once its me vs. a man on foot I just circled him and emptied all my arrows into them, stopping to switch bows when one set of arrows was gone. Most of them succumbed to this, but a few had to be ridden down with a heavy blade or scepter. It's awesome to see the Phylaketi brought to there knees as they run behind you in a circle helplessly flailing their weapons as you run laps around them raining down a volley of fury from up high.
I should note that while preforming this technique I had a maximized quiver and several perked bows (flaming, poison, bleeding).

you can also use 1 dart for multiple victims by throwing sleep or poison dart onto the bon fire to explode and will affect them all at once. I haven't tried doing this with a phylake so idk if it has an effect to the bosses.
I fought the first one 6 levels under him and it took 15 mins the second one I beat by climbing a nearby wall and shooting him or jumping down on him. The rest I waited for them to be off their rides then rode in on horseback and killed them 4 levels under and did it in record time. Going in on horseback helped alot.
I use a health on hit light bow, here is a tip: if you are using a health on hit bow, dont waste your bows. There are 3 bars of health, for example you have only one bar, shot your arrows till your health reaches the second bar, then stop shooting and regenerate, then do the same for the third bar. Also using a fire bow is great. You can even stun enemies for a short time. I think fire bombs are way better than sleep darts. You can take out bosses so easily. Upgrade your tool pouch until you can carry 9 fire bombs. I recommend you to never attack first. If you attack first, you can your enemy will get damaged but if you Dodge the first attack, you wont get damaged. As your first bow, use a hunter bow with the ability that lets you break your enemies' defenses. My hunter bow is on fire. This helps a lot, then as your second bow, use that light bow that has health on hit or a health on hit warrior bow if your aim is not perfect. You should have at least 2 fire on hit and 1 health on hit weapon, also a predator bow that increases your damage if you are not detected. I hope I helped enough.

Fire also helps, since he will stop midbattle to scream from the pain of being burnt alive giving you an opning for atracks, specilly useful vs higher with 2 levels ones
The fire sword is Hebzeva's weapon you get it when you reach a certain point in the campaign (I'm not sure but I think I'm right)

I remember doing the Siwa Threat quest, where u gotta go to the Pissa Oros Citadel in Isolated Desert as a lvl 31. And ofc while i was riding i came by and saw The Galatian.
And as many others i can’t pass by a boss with legendary loot, without having to try attack them. Didn’t go well. I wasted alot of time on trying to kill him. When i reached lvl 35 i wanted to try again and see if i could kill him. I used the Imitation Siwan Kopesh. I came riding by a camp, while riding to his location, but there were a Help Rebel side activity and a crazy amount of rebels had spawned, maybe about 10. I assisted them in killing the egyptian soldiers and while fighting them i came up with an idea.
I would wait for The Galatian to pass by. But when he would notice me, the rest of the rebels would also attack him with me. Took some minutes but he got ganked so hard. The most of the rebels died because of his dmg, but about 3 survived.
I got the isu armor at level 28 so I don’t need any new outfits lol. The flickering daggers are AMAZING and they look even more so when paired with the armor

I found an easy way throw firebombs and when stunned putting out flames i used the flame scepter to keep adding damage allowing constant stunning lol

I love this game. I remember being confused af after being chased through Alexandria by a phylake lol
waiting til night time until a phylake gets off their mount and using the berserk poison on them works in like a minute and you don't have to get into a pesky fight with them. This also works with the shadows of Anubis and the others two in Sinai.
TIP : keep a track on your enemy when he get off his mount you get on yours and keep hitting him but be careful not to get hit or take any damage

I used the fire bombs and the bow and arrow to kill most. They scream and beat around when on fire which leaves them open for head shots with the arrows.
I killed 2 of this by killing first most of the soldiers of a fort, letting one lit the fire at the end, and killing the reinforcements when they came, that way, when the bosses came, I had the fort for me and him alone.
The fort that I used was close to Alexandria, and it has the Oxibeles (those huge crossbows) that are pointing to the inside.
After that I just had to lure them on front of the crossbows and deal more that 2,000 per hit.
I had a lot of fun doing it that way, and it is a good option if you are not good at dogging (just like me).

A tactic I've used is starting the fight with an assassination attack. Back off and lob fire bombs for damage then hit and run with smoke bombs til I get my adrenaline full then hit the boss with an overpower attack.
I remember trying to kill all the roaming bosses and found the level 40’s in the same place, so when I attacked them a CRAP ton of rebels came out of no where and conveys kept appearing...
It was a full on war dude...
I ran into the stranger at like level 16 cause I had just killed like 10 guards at a camp where the alarm had gone off, I literally didn’t see him coming before he charged up next to me on a horse and clubbed me. Instantly knocked down, almost no health left, I try to get up and see what hit me and as soon as I recognize him from seeing the cutscene earlier I was clubbed again and killed.

Nostalgia 2 I heard the horn but I was just getting out of a fight and I think this was either my first or second encounter with the phylakes so the fear of death hadn’t yet been set in me.
stitches1110 ahh yes i actually had the similar reaction haha i thought that the Phylakes wouldnt be so life-threatening. i was like lvl 16 foolishly charging towards Ptolemy's Fist whos like level 22 with my lvl 1 sickle sword(i hadnt even found out that i could upgrade my weapons at a blacksmith, believe it or not). BAAAMM one hit brought me to like 30% health. smacked me off my horse and gave the finishing blow, all in mere secs. gaaawd it was satisfying to kill him when i was more ready.
jack creed I fought them at that level difference only because I was using the cursed spear. It really helped even the odds.

Just a heads up. I waited to 40 to make the phylakes level up. The reward is still a level 20 sword on the usually lowest level one. He is a level 41 with auto level on. I was hoping to save the 6k weapon upgrade charge.
or you can hold the heavy attack, dodge their incoming attack and release. They will either fall r stagger allowing u to do quick attacks that does some good damage. Also you are able to pick where u fight them, so choose wisely, also save a smoke bomb so you can use it to get away hide and regen full health since it's takes like 3 secs to go back to full out of combat. Also just watch and learn their pattern it's really not even that hard. I mean im playing on hard atm, and it's my first playthrough

A tip
Use tamed animals. I used a hippo (level 13) on the fist of p-something(level 22). He had a blunt weapon and he didn't have any Time to react. So my hippo barely lost health and I didn't at all. He couldn't attack while my hippo and I could. I was level 20 and it was really easy. Hope it helps you

Sooo many weapons.. How about some tips on what to keep, sell, and/or upgrade?
I already killed 5 phylakes using the same tactic almost every time except for once i think. What I did was attack them on the horse with possibly a heavy weapon. After i hit them I would then create some distance between me and them, then as soon as I saw they would equip the bow, I would go near them, charge em with a heavy attack either knocking them down or taking away quite some of their health. I would repeat this until I killed them
Just fire with fire arrows if you sit on your horse. Than fire with other arrows for make the fire hard, then smash with a legendary stick if you sit on your horse. Best power for kill all the phylake and the 2 shadows.
i killed my first level 20 phylake i am so so happy right now
i cheesed some of the phylakes by stealth and hiding then stealth then hide etc
I just used the cursed spear. I have to say if you can control all aspects of compact, including these bosses, cursed weapons are stupidly overpowered.
When I meet them in the city, I use predator Bow to shoot them in the head and run, wait for a chance to assassinate then run again. Then assassinate them again.
Sometimes I mix it with fire bombs and adrenaline.
Assassinate is a huge damage dealer.
Say if u are a level 40 and u kill a level 20 phylake will u still get the weapon at level 20 or will it become level 40
I’m level 17 and attacked a fort with 2 captains and a commander, I killed everyone except for one of the captains . He’s the same level as me but can not be stealth assassinated also every hit does minimal damage. I also tried those stationary powerful bows but they do minimal damage also. It’s like he’s got some really good amour on. I’ve been dodging his attacks then do some damage but just a few hits and I’m dead. Anyone got any tips.
Also, super easy way to kill them is to attack from horse/camel back, if you get a good speed on your mount, you can do MASSIVE damage, also you can use an overpower attack when riding a mount, it just slows down time for a bit, and doesn't do a cool animation
Just use berserk poison on them and survive max 30 sec till poison kill them
My favorite weapons is you’re fist so much fun drop kicking someone and then you just lay their unless you move it feels like gokus dragon kick and then you’re of energy laying next to them lmao

all it took was for me to use my hunter bow which had a fire effect and after breaking shield defense, used a Light bow that had poison on hit. Just keeping distance and shooting him whenever hes abt to shoot as itll interrupt the shot. Theres no need to even use melee weapons lol

Quick question to everyone if your a higher level then the roaming boss do they disappear or is it just my game doing that. There's a quest called forging siwa, that rewards you a cursed sword that deals 200% more damage but lowers your health to one bar(33%) while it's equipped. Requires level 25 to use.
So if you get to lv 30 and you fight the lv 20 boss will the boss change to the lv you are or will it stay the same, I don't have origins
the boss will still be lvl 20
I killed the 5 hardest ones and levels 28-32. With sleep darts and fire bombs also smoke and mirrors with the fire sord
Those big savages are hard to take dow.. Killed 3 so far.. I hit and run away.. Hide then sneak in for another big hit.. It is slow but effective
I killed a Level 38 Phylake when I was Level 28. I just run around and assassinate him. even though I only deal 160++ damage on assassinate. Just need to find an elevated area where he can't reach you or you can hide while running around it. I completed the Phylake quest when I was Level 37.
EDIT: I maxed out my Hidden Dagger when I reached level 22.
I literally just did that to each one them five hours ago. It felt game breaking... It felt good.
I threw fire balls at them and then arrowed them down with fiery arrows, worked like a charm :)

I killed the phylake with the light bow when i was six levels below by using my instant charge sword and knocking him to the ground nere a wall so he couldnt get up and then i just kept hitting him and after like ten minutes i killed him
My method is assassination steal horse runaway snipe with predator bow and light bow end with fire bombs and sword attacks

can you do tips on how to kill those hulking brute captains in forts? The ones where it is impossible to assassinate them regardless of how many levels you outrank them.

if you know what type of enemies I'm talking about then you would know that doesn't matter, I have every upgrade done already, but in the time since I've posted that comment I have learned some different techniques, like a shield charge, or charging my heavy attack, or using those stationary crossbows.
Fight EVERY Phylake from a raised position that they cannot or will not climb.... make sure you have advanced pyrotechnics and flame arrows... select a high place that you can get to and from easily by fast travel if you need to restock.... Go get 'em Floyd!
Is the ISS armor like the Aegis armor in Syndicate? Not because of the stats because there isn't any, but rarity wise?

I killed my first phylakes at level 14 on ACCIDENT but now i know they are bosses it got in my head and i try harder which gets me dead
I was hating on Assassin’s Creed since after Brotherhood (I have Black Flag but haven’t played it yet, heard positive things about it though). But Origins is really a great AC! Will be continuing the series from now.

It’s weird my first phylake wasn’t the outsiders it was the second one so I don’t know what to do to fight the outsider
I used cursed weapons at level 36 and fire bows with smoke bombs
I found a tactic that works even easier. Fight them in a town with a building you can get on and they can climb on a ladder, lure them up, hang of side just out of reach and whistle, make sure to keep tapping the stealth button to bash them against ledge, after the drop off to attack wth a bow, get on roof, as he comes back up, repeat the process of ledge stealth attack. it takes a slow time but its almost guaranteed if done correctly. I killed the level 40 at level 20 with this tactic.
I attacked all of them from horseback and had zero problems. I did level up to where I was equal to those bosses tho.
