I just finished chapter four and haven't yet been in a spot where I needed to grind money. It seems like the game does a pretty good job at rewarding you. And the parts shop doesn't punish you for trying different things by giving you a 100% refund on anything you sell.

It does, but I don't have interest in s-ranking the missions and when I was done with the 3rd ending, I still needed a few million to finish buying out the shop.

This is an endgame farm for the most part. Mission is in the last 3rd of missions. You can farm it before the end game but you might be doing it a bit slower.
