Thank you Paul, you are quite the warrior, and you are doing great work. I found carnivore before I found you, and after a couple years I had gradually added a fair amount of fruit, but when you eat carnivore, you don't crave the sweet fruit, so it's easy. I listened to some of your long podcasts, and never tried to say that all carnivore was the way to go, but I'm glad to see you having adopted fruit, and for the same logic I did. I also got to the same point with Keto as you. One interesting point is that I have Type-1 diabetes, but no main-stream doctor would agree since I had enough insulin as far as they were concerned. After studying Joseph Kraft and others, I finally found a Functional Med Doctor who agreed with my data, and got insulin, and it saved my life from pretty rapid decline from metabolic starvation. I even heard Dr Paul Mason explain that increased urea in urine decreases UTI's. This makes sense when you think about how so many women are scared to eat meat, end up with UTI's and osteoporosis... plus high carb diets encourage all types of infections to develop more easily.... just look at diabetics.... perfect example of extreme "carb-ism"
Natural bodybuilders consume copious amounts of meat to maximize muscle protein synthesis. If large amounts of meat consumption were compromising kidney function, you should see an epidemic of renal failure among bodybuilders. The only time you see bodybuilders who succumb to renal failure is when they DO NOT pursue their physiques through natural means, but instead use performance enhancing drugs. Most natural bodybuilders reach normal life expectancy or exceed it without impaired kidney function. If large quantities of meat were so clearly connected in kidney failure, it should be rampant in bodybuilding, powerlifting, football and any sport that requires a high degree of muscle accrual.
Thank you Dr. Saladino, I was just hearing how excessive protein would be hard on the kidneys. I knew that was BS. Thank you so much for sharing this important information.

I love eating meat and mostly protein/fats. I do ultra running and quite frankly feel my best eating mostly protein/fats. Quick recovery and increased fat burning for my races. Love your insights Dr. Saladino!
Where does the myth that meat harms your kidney function come From? Is it just a correlation based on increased GFR levels and base kidney function? Or is just a part of the narrative that meat is “bad” for you? Great video thank you!

There's a channel called 'Kathrine' kidney that says carnivore is bad for people with CKD. She has a negative opinion of Dr Berry and Dr Fung in her latest video regarding the carnivore diet and its negative effects on the kidney. Would you be willing to debate her? Or, is she correct in regards to people with CKD?
Dr Saladino, Does the studies about kidney function on the high protein diets mention kidney stones? I've been on a high protein diet, sub 100 gram daily carb diet for about 18 months and I had one kidney stone some months back. Friends are convinced it's my diet but I'm not, does the studies make any reference to stones?
Same with me. I had never had a kidney stone in my life (I'm 63). Six months into my carnivore diet, and I got them. Increasing my fluid intake got rid of them, but no diet is perfect and I'm pretty sure there was a correlation. Edited to say, I'm still on the carnivore diet and still loving it!
When fat is not absorbed the right way, the fat binds to calcium and leaves oxalate behind. The oxalate is then absorbed and taken to the kidney, where it can form stones

What about people who already have CKD? The articles site healthy people. I want to know if a strictly carnivore diet would be dangerous for me since I have one kidney, and it's stage 3 CKD. My kidney specialist says for me to lower sodium but that is all the dietary advice he will give me.
All seafood is ancestrally consistent with a carnivore diet. Unfortunately, as Paul points out, most fish have become polluted with heavy metals, namely mercury. So limit those types of fish. Tuna usually has a lot of mercury. I have heard cod is low as well as wild caught pacific salmon.
It makes perfect sense that having survived a live virus provides you with at least as much immunity as being injected with a live virus. Can't understand why anyone would want to suppress such information.
Except that vaccines in general are made with attenuated or inactivated virus. When a host is infected with active virus the immune reaction is stronger and therefore, logically, the organism should build more antibodies. Attenuated or inactivated virus can't trigger the same level of immune reaction. It's not logical that this would create a stronger immune response In case of the covid vaccines it is a complete another story, but to their disadvantage.

I wish someone would've answered your question a year ago.....I still am trying to find the answer.....did protein hurt your kidneys?....your mom's kidneys?

I want to go back to Carnivore but it hasn't worked out well for me. Could it be that I'm doing something wrong Dr Paul? I buy from a local farm that has nothing but pasture raised beef. When I was fully carnivore I was on it for 7-8 months and I was strict as can be. I drank water had Redmond's salt and beef. That's literally all I had. Included in that was also beef suet from the same farm. I know that I was getting more than enough fat and protein. The bad thing I had was I had tons of anxiety and didn't feel fully there. I felt depressed from time to time like if I just didn't have any joy in doing anything. My hypertension stayed the same. There's been a ton of issues that I've had that I thought carnivore would help me in but didn't help me much at all. I been following you for years Dr Paul and even own your books but could it be that some people simply can't do full carnivore? or am I doing something wrong.
I’m 10 days into high fat carnivore. Ate a pound of beef yesterday snd got terrible kidney pain for 3-4 hours. Oxilates? Makes me worried about eating high amounts of red meat.

Brilliant! I am 11 months carnivore. Many health benefits but the most important to me is my PTSD symptoms are finally subsiding. It’s changed my life ❤️☀️
❤️❤️❤️❤️ I'm born with week kidneys. I never felt better than since I'm on a high protein carnivore diet. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Diana, are you still on a carnivore diet?...... Are your kidneys still healthy?
I mention all this stuff because you can have everyone telling you you are crazy, even when they are totally missing the boat, and your work and education are more important than most realize. Thanks again.
Thanks for sharing this info. I think I'll look into this, too. My blood work all looks fine, but I keep losing weight (no matter what diet I do, from vegan to paleo to carnivore), and I urinate excessively.
I like it how you kept the promotion for Animal Based 30 & Her Package in this video even though it was gonna get censored for chocolate cake; we can feel your frustration around it but it just shows you know fan power still trumps the algorithm, and it makes me happy you don't really prioritize self promotion, you just want people to feel better
Thank you for talking about the vaccine BS. It takes courage.
Paul is taking the gloves off. I love it.
@@s7r49 I always thought carbs were important tho?
Bodybuilders abuse diuretics and fluid restrict when competing, then go into acute kidney failure. Likely nothing to do with diet

dieticians only know what they have been told. I know how I FEEL. I KNOW my blood numbers and blood pressure are now excellent. The only difference? Carnivore diet with very few non animal products like avocadoes and water and coffee. That's it.
My GFR has improved steadily on my blood work since starting #liondiet, liver function has improved as well. I covered this in last week’s video on my channel if you need another case study for evidence. Thanks Dr. S!
I love eating meat and mostly protein/fats. I do ultra running and quite frankly feel my best eating mostly protein/fats. Quick recovery and increased fat burning for my races. Love your insights Dr. Saladino!
Same, and identical diet for ultra running. Carry on!
You're such an inspiration, mate. Keep enlightening us!
Great video very informative. Thank you.
Where does the myth that meat harms your kidney function come
From? Is it just a correlation based on increased GFR levels and base kidney function? Or is just a part of the narrative that meat is “bad” for you?
Great video thank you!
Excellent video paul. I am staying radical 👍
There is very little money to be made from healthy people.

Hi. It's been a year...do you still have kidney issues? I'm sitting here not knowing whether I should continue carnivore or not. 😟
Still doing it and I also have been fasting for 6 years from 9pm to 4pm. Both my husband and I have never been healthier. His kidneys improved after only 6 months. He also has type1 childhood diabetes. He's doing extremely well. Don't give up and make sure to change more than diet. We started walking, riding electric bikes(hubby has right leg amputation) these bikes rock! Paul has been such an incredible wealth of information. He loves people. This works.

What about acid building in the kidney.
Love the refreshers! 👍👍🙏
links to the studies would be nice.

I heard something about eating enough fats with your protein fixes this.
When fat is not absorbed the right way, the fat binds to calcium and leaves oxalate behind. The oxalate is then absorbed and taken to the kidney, where it can form stones

Hi. May I ask how your kidney is doing today?....did you stay carnivore?
Hello Paul, what are your thoughts about eating seafood? Which ones are beneficial and which ones should be avoided?
All seafood is ancestrally consistent with a carnivore diet. Unfortunately, as Paul points out, most fish have become polluted with heavy metals, namely mercury. So limit those types of fish. Tuna usually has a lot of mercury. I have heard cod is low as well as wild caught pacific salmon.
Sardines is the way to go! 😉
It's not logical that this would create a stronger immune response
In case of the covid vaccines it is a complete another story, but to their disadvantage.
Just a video suggestion.. you got your degree

I have pkd and so does my mother... both our nephrologists say limit protein because it damages your kidneys. I’m so confused... Can you possibly explain this?
Also, her function is declining over the past year from 29% to 23%. How can you improve this function? Thank you very much.
I wish someone would've answered your question a year ago.....I still am trying to find the answer.....did protein hurt your kidneys?....your mom's kidneys?
@@cindyhesse5196 I wish I received a response too.
Yes, due to our condition too much protein, especially animal, will further damage the cells of the kidneys according to my nephrologist. In the last year mine have failed. My moms still at 17% function and holding. I eat red meat 2x a week to build up my hemoglobin, and I take iron supplements as well. Kidney failure is not fun. It’s a balancing act all the time especially with phosphorus.
The preservative phosphorus that they use in boxed foods is literally poison for everyone’s kidneys. I honestly think they put it in the food here on purpose so “they” can have customers for life.
Hope you’re doing well!
@@herekittykittykitty6637I think I agree with you about what they put in boxed food and why.
Had partial nephrectomy in Jan 2015. (Renal cell carcinoma). It healed beautifully and I've had great checkups these past 8 years. Until now. I went carnivore a year and a half ago...now I have protein in my urine, hydrophrenosis on my left ureter, and they tell me I'm stage 3a. I have no clue what to eat now.
Really want to do this 30. But I have low Alkaline Phosphatase. My doc said in her 40 years, I’m her first, and it’s not to worry, as I’d be dead by now if it was worth wonder. Anyhow, would it be safe for me, to pursue this, with my situation?

I was doing 3 days strict carnivore, I got massive kidney pain, and started to smell EXTREME. Can someone tell me why that happend?
Fantastic video packed with hard data!
Send him an email.. He should respond with what you might be missing.
