I am now fully carnivore - after a renal transplant. The FIRST TIME I checked my creatinine it terrified me because it went up noticeably. So I ate "crap" for two weeks (mostly vegetarian) and did the test again and it was back to my baseline. Since then, I have simply re-baselined to the new carnivore eGFR (creatinine clearance based) and it is rock-solid.
After the transplant, I was almost ready to give up and call myself permanently disabled, then I tried carnivore. As a carnivore, I have my life back.

@@labradormom3656 Without being too optimistic, I can say that whenever I hear the term "sclerotic", I think "systemic inflammation". And I am convinced that most (if not all) "systemic inflammation" is caused by the consumption of plants by those with a genetic predisposition against it. Maybe that means all humans, maybe only "northern" humans, but if you have systemic inflammation, and it is threatening your health, I would strongly consider doing a 120-day 100% carnivore diet. In 120 days, you'll know if it is helping or not.
I FOUGHT with my doctors before my kidneys failed:
Me: "Why are my kidneys failing?"
Dr.: "Because you have hypertension and renal scarring"
Me: "Why do I have hypertension?"
Dr.: "Because you have failing kidneys"
Me: "But WHY are my kidneys failing?"
Dr. "Well, if you get right down to it, Focal-Segmental Gromerulo Schlerosis is basically caused by inflammation"
Me" "GREAT! How do I fix systemic inflammation before my kidneys fail fully?"
Dr. "Well, there isn't really much you can do, we'll limit protein intake and monitor you until you kidneys fail"
Dr. "Oh, and you really need to take ANOTHER hypertension medication as well - you seem to be ignoring the other three"
Me: "What if my body is saying that I need MORE blood and nutrients and so is overriding the hypertension meds?"
Dr. "Just take another one - once we give you enough meds it might keep your blood pressure low"
Me: "But can't we focus on the root cause - the systemic inflammation? Do I have Lyme Disease or something?"
Dr.: "chuckle... you need to stop using the internet".
Me: "Listen, something is not adding up here... and I no longer trust your hypertension medication...."
Dr.: "I can no longer treat you if you refuse my help"
Me.: "Fine I'll take the medication..."
Then my kidneys failed completely. I was transplanted with a live donor about half my size, but it was enough. Oddly, my hypertension did not subside....
Me: "Dr., WHY didn't my hypertension subside? Won't this destroy my new kidney like it did my original kidneys?"
Dr." "Well, you have to take the medications, this is often the case after a transplant"
Me: "But you said that the scarred kidneys caused the hypertension...?"
Dr.: "We just don't know why you have hypertension, let's keep taking even more medication"
Me: "Now I have horrible gastric reflux and am being treated regularly by a rheumatologist - I am MUCH WORSE"
Dr.: "Take ibuprofen and a proton-pump inhibitor"
Me: "Didn't you say that ibuprofen damages the kidneys?"
Dr: "Yes, but we have no real options"
Me: "Why do I have this unbearable gastric reflux now?
Dr: "Because you now make too much stomach acid"
Me: "But my stomach seems too FULL when it happens - doesn't that imply that my stomach acid isn't breaking down the food and so preventing emptying which causes the reflux"
Dr." "You REALLY need to stop using the internet"
Then I abandoned the doctors entirely. I tried a variety of ever more hopeful solutions: Vegetarian, then Vegan, then Keto.... each helped considerably but only partially. I now realize that they were ALL better than the SAD (Standard American Diet). Raw hand-made sauerkraut was an incredible help with the reflux - but not a cure.

Because according to my sister in the icu, that's who it's killing for the most part. And when you do the statistics how do you figure that in? It's like saying people that don't drive anywhere but in their front yard need to wear seat belts the same as people going 90 down the highway need to wear seatbelts. Thank you Paul, you are quite the warrior, and you are doing great work. I found carnivore before I found you, and after a couple years I had gradually added a fair amount of fruit, but when you eat carnivore, you don't crave the sweet fruit, so it's easy. I listened to some of your long podcasts, and never tried to say that all carnivore was the way to go, but I'm glad to see you having adopted fruit, and for the same logic I did. I also got to the same point with Keto as you. One interesting point is that I have Type-1 diabetes, but no main-stream doctor would agree since I had enough insulin as far as they were concerned. After studying Joseph Kraft and others, I finally found a Functional Med Doctor who agreed with my data, and got insulin, and it saved my life from pretty rapid decline from metabolic starvation. I mention all this stuff because you can have everyone telling you you are crazy, even when they are totally missing the boat, and your work and education are more important than most realize. Natural bodybuilders consume copious amounts of meat to maximize muscle protein synthesis. If large amounts of meat consumption were compromising kidney function, you should see an epidemic of renal failure among bodybuilders. The only time you see bodybuilders who succumb to renal failure is when they DO NOT pursue their physiques through natural means, but instead use performance enhancing drugs. Most natural bodybuilders reach normal life expectancy or exceed it without impaired kidney function. If large quantities of meat were so clearly connected in kidney failure, it should be rampant in bodybuilding, powerlifting, football and any sport that requires a high degree of muscle accrual.

All seafood is ancestrally consistent with a carnivore diet. Unfortunately, as Paul points out, most fish have become polluted with heavy metals, namely mercury. So limit those types of fish. Tuna usually has a lot of mercury. I have heard cod is low as well as wild caught pacific salmon.

    • @cezar3977
      @cezar3977 3 года назад

Except that vaccines in general are made with attenuated or inactivated virus. When a host is infected with active virus the immune reaction is stronger and therefore, logically, the organism should build more antibodies. Attenuated or inactivated virus can't trigger the same level of immune reaction. It's not logical that this would create a stronger immune response
In case of the covid vaccines it is a complete another story, but to their disadvantage.

Yes, due to our condition too much protein, especially animal, will further damage the cells of the kidneys according to my nephrologist. In the last year mine have failed. My moms still at 17% function and holding. I eat red meat 2x a week to build up my hemoglobin, and I take iron supplements as well. Kidney failure is not fun. It’s a balancing act all the time especially with phosphorus.
The preservative phosphorus that they use in boxed foods is literally poison for everyone’s kidneys. I honestly think they put it in the food here on purpose so “they” can have customers for life.

I want to go back to Carnivore but it hasn't worked out well for me. Could it be that I'm doing something wrong Dr Paul? I buy from a local farm that has nothing but pasture raised beef. When I was fully carnivore I was on it for 7-8 months and I was strict as can be. I drank water had Redmond's salt and beef. That's literally all I had. Included in that was also beef suet from the same farm. I know that I was getting more than enough fat and protein. The bad thing I had was I had tons of anxiety and didn't feel fully there. I felt depressed from time to time like if I just didn't have any joy in doing anything. My hypertension stayed the same. There's been a ton of issues that I've had that I thought carnivore would help me in but didn't help me much at all. I been following you for years Dr Paul and even own your books but could it be that some people simply can't do full carnivore? or am I doing something wrong.
