@@melissacharleston nope, I didn’t get a warning. The car ran fine earlier that day. I parked it, went inside for a few hours, then it just randomly died 🥲
@@alanoliver1816 ugh that sucks! Tesla confirmed the 12v battery died, which is why the windows, locks, screen etc were acting strange. It’s so annoying that the system didn’t warn me or anything of a low battery. It just randomly died 💀
I just watched this video after experiencing this problem now and my window is completed broken. It was scary the way it crashed and am still here not able to start the Tesla model y
I used the normal button on the trunk to open it. For some reason, that was the only door that would open. There must've been just enough battery left in the 12V to open it? Not sure tbh
Hi Ben, you are always good for information and experiences. It actually is more common than you think for the 12 volt starter battery to go out on vehicles and cause some inconvenience, not just ev. If you like, you can install a connector that can be reached from outside of the car but attaches to the battery. This way an external 12 volt source can bring it back to life, at least enough to operate some basics. I don't know how to do the skull and cross bones but I can deal with cars, old school I guess 😂
Ben, My mother for some reason wants to make my tesla into the confusing car.. I have told her over and over that you just hit the button but she seems to even thing the seat belts are confusing and she freaks out about the big screen and how do you drive that thing... etc.. she has more than once pulled up on the handel instead of pushing the button.. my battery was good, so I pushed the button and the window went down a little
Ahhhh that sucks & sounds frustrating! The button to open/close the door is prob the no. 1 thing other people ask about & struggle to figure out on a Tesla in my experience as well. These cars def come with a steep learning curve.
Yes! Even with their flaws, I still love my Y. The benefits of a fully electric car + home charging + incredible acceleration/performance/software totally outweigh the cons imo

Did you figure out how this happened? Car is only 3 yrs old. No warning the battery was needing replacement?

☠️ does owning a Tesla really out weight the cons of just getting a hybrid or even a plug in hybrid

Yeah it was horrific 💀 thanks bb!
I hate frameless windows for many reasons, and this being one of them. I didn't like it on my Mustang and I don't like it now on my model 3...
yeah they look cool but they can def be a huge pain in the azz
it's crazy. I don't even own a Tesla and I already know exactly what to do if this happens.
