Great to see you back and hope all is well. Love EW&F - grew up listening to them. This particular song was never one of my favorites, but it’s a great tune. Lots of good insight into it I never considered.
Love His Bass Guitar But "Kalimba Story" , My Goodness Grace 😮😮😮
My dad was a big EW&F fan and they were playing in the house all the time while I was growing up. By osmosis Verdine was a huge influence on my bass playing. His stage outfits were flashier than his playing, but his playing was always rock solid, funky, deceptively slick and always served the song. Love him!
👊👊
I remember watching them un the 74 calijam on vhs video that my dad had and in one of their song they started dancing in slow motion i was blown away i was 10 years old back in 1982!! Great memories
Amazing stuff! Sorry you’ve been down. Feel better 🙏
You were missed. I’m glad your back!
Such a great vid! Such a great song and never listened to the bass line until today. Amazing! Love it Fran!
Thanx for this review!!! My gal and I saw them at the Inglewood Forum in 1977. They were a force to reckon with. Saw Led Zeppelin a few months earlier at this same venue. The crowds and performances for these two groups were quite a contrast to witness for a young 16 year version of myself. 😸 Be Well Brotha ❤🩹
Hope you're doing good buddy. Good to have you back.
Good job love you work
He was a beast on those records and EWF was a truly unique phenomenon!!!
Uplifting & Brilliant tribute.. 💃🏻🌬️🔥
I hear what you're saying about dealing with life to keep it going. I always tell a friend of mine to be patient with her husband because musicians have a pretty deep view of life that I sometimes feel non-musicians can't truly understand. As for Verdine White, you just featured one of my top 5 influences on the bass. That "D A D Slide to E Back to D" fill is the main thing I took from him. Great video, man! Keep 'em coming!
👊👊
Hey Fran I’ve watched all your videos since day 1 keep it up man your so good at this !
Thank you
Yo Bru, I don’t know how you can not mention the great Al McKay on guitar with those driving riffs and fun fact, this song co written by Maurice White, Al McKay after Maurice heard Al riff in a rehearsal room one day.
My bad

Hey! I have a question for Verdine and it’s why did he stop singing? He used to sing in the 1970’s but stopping In the year 1980. Does anyone know why he stopped singing?
