@@lancealrayes2382 True. I mean I wasn't trying to apologize or anything for "clickbaiting". I just wanted to make it clear that there are plot twists out there that are way way way worse than this one
Homie doesn’t understand the show. Star and stripe didn’t just spawn out of nowhere n her death wasn’t random. She was saved by all might in the two hero movie, since then devoted herself to surpassing him in bringing peace. All might said it best, one of the most heroic actions is self sacrifice. Even hero killer stain would approve. About Aoyama, he’s honestly the perfect traitor. We weren’t aware of him being quirkless as a kid but we did always hear about his limit. How using his belly laser long enough caused him pain. Rewatching previous seasons now knowing Aoyama is the traitor gives a different perspective. One that we didn’t originally have, not because it wasn’t intended or because they needed story plot. The more you look the more notice he had always been there in the background. More importantly not interacting, everyone in class 1a has a kinda buddy system where certain characters are always hanging out like bakugo, kirishima, and kaminari. Aoyama doesn’t, originally thought because he was so full of himself but now I know. He wasn’t there to make friends, his goal n mission was helping all for one. He’s perfect because you simply wouldn’t think him to be. Videos like these always make me question if people actually pay attention or just criticize.
I think its rather poetic because his hero name is literally “I cant stop twinkling “ and his quirk is light based yet he was so unnoticed and pulled into the dark
Guess he really did mean it with his hero name "i can't stop twinkling" he can't stop using his given quirk, he can't stop helping AFO, he can't stop snitching or else he and his family will die
I think it was a good twist, just because it’s out of no where doesn’t mean it’s bad. I also like how he was a Mirror of Izuku in terms of also being born without a quirk, making him more sympathetic. Though yeah the whole forest overhearing thing wasn’t a great way to do it, could’ve been done more naturally with more foreshadowing. But it definitely wasn’t terrible
I do agree, that the traitor reveal was a big let down. I'm 99% sure Horikoshi forgot about the traitor side plot himself. Because again, it's never mentioned again...until now. And he just so happen to choose a character, NOBODY likes. Seriously, who actually thinks Aoyama is their second or third favorite character in the series? Yeah, didn't think so. And a master mind like AFO chooses a wimpy side character like Aoyama? But none of the more skilled ones like Kirishima, Bakugou, Shoto? Or as mention...invisible girl? I love Hero Academia. But I can't deny that this traitor revealed was horrible.
Star’s fight also plays a key role with Deku’s fight with shigaraki in the manga so saying she didn’t contribute to the story is a lie The only issue with it is that we should’ve seen her earlier in the story. We already know she was the girl all might saved in the first movie, but we should’ve seen more of her earlier on
That’s just contributing to the story plot wise tho. I thought she was going to get character development and contribute to the overall message of the story. Any character could have been brought in randomly to take away some of his quirks
Look back, the guy was pretty sus but only to the audience. In universe, he just seems a bit weird. Also there were some red herrings from other characters, that could've hinted to them being the traitor.
Yeah one of the lessons in writing you can use it. You build up something the audience may know or fogire out. Meanwhile the characters dont. Hells build more tnsion drama etc
This season is already better than any other season. Its already off to a great start and knowing the manga i cant wait dude. Bones has also perfected the animation so much too. They have even done it so well that some anime scenes are way better than the manga.
This is such a lie 😭 They didn’t perfect the animation and they constantly adapt the scenes wrong. Look at shoto vs dabi in the manga vs the anime for an example
@@Spidey_. oh god its one of these guys. Everyone laugh at this guy “OMGGG THE SKY IS BLUEEE OMGGG THEY FORGOT TO ADD A ATOM THAT WAS IN tHE MANGA 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭”
Yeahhhh, I gotta agree with OP here. The animation itself is really good, and expecting anything better is crazy. You can have criticism about the art style and stuff, but art and animation is at a really high level
@@YurokiHakugaisha you sound so corny. Are you 13? People are allowed to criticize anime. You want ppl to blindly like things and that’s mad pathetic. Grow up Outside of the blue sky (which is still bad and ruins the tone of the tone of the WAR and before you say sum stupid, MHA’s blue sky is the exact same and never changes. Other animes will change the blue tone of skies to match scenes. Learn what pathetic fallacy is. There’s an edit that changes the blue tone to make fit the war.) the anime still has issues The don’t properly adapt things such as the shoto vs dabi panel with the all might statue in the back looming over them while Shoto is rising above everyone including the statue. It’s important symbolism that’s stripped from the anime and doesn’t look good whatsoever Still frames are still present and will be present for future fights, but hopefully things improve The anime itself has been on the decline in quality which was shown with how they fumbled Deku vs shigaraki in the first war. Season 6 got saved thanks to the Rogue Deku arc being adapted well
I’m very critical of MHA, I love the series, but I recognize it’s many flaws. But the Aoyama plot line was solid. People were guessing at him being the traitor since season 3 and it was obvious to me in season 4 when he suddenly wanted to get close to Midoriya for “supposedly” no reason. Do I think MHA needs to flesh out its story? Hell yes. There are so many character and story arcs that could have been amazing with 100 more chapters slammed in the manga. However, the Author said he thought this shit was going to be 30 volumes (for reference, that means this series would have been 6 seasons) So I’m going to have to disagree with you on the Aoyama stuff, I thought it was foreshadowed just enough. Haven’t watched AoT, but I feel like the characters looking at the female titan and not realizing on the spot it was their friend who looks just like it, is kinda stupid. But there could be something I’m missing, idk.
for the female Titan, the second they saw her the either die, or just now its Annie. They just didn't want to believe it. A good example of foreshadowing and traitor is bertholdt and Reiner reveal.
All for One didn’t choose Aoyama as some special person when he gave him his quirk. He didn’t originally plan for him to be a UA spy, he was giving out quirks to anyone who asked. He did so to assemble an army of people who owed him. Aoyama getting into UA when All Might became a teacher is what made All for One finally ask for his “you owe me,” which ended up being the task of being a UA spy. He gives out useless quirks to disposable people like this since the useful ones go to his true henchmen and himself.
I agree that figuring it out became obvious, after narrowing it down to who it could not be. In spite of that, I still like it because it makes sense when you think about it in the mind of a teenage boy who wants to have power and fit in with this super powered world. And after getting his powers, it makes sense why he continues to use his power in spite of that. His family is in danger, and even though his family is rich, they can’t spend money to save him from getting kicked out. So he harms himself to save his family and keep up appearances
There was like very little to go off of. But there was some foreshadowing. The thing is, foreshadowing doesnt make a bad reveal not bad. It just was, out of nowhere. And not even like a cool way like aot where reiner reveals himself and then you’re like… WAIT A MINUTE… yeah horikoshi is angoat at art and occasionally hype, but storytelling isnt his strong suit
The thing is... who tf cared about Aoyama to care if he was a traitor? He had very little screentime (like most of 1-A) and didn't do anything to advance the plot. The only moment he had was during the provisional license exam when he distracted the other students or something, I forget... but can you really call that a moment? At least I cared more about Mechamaru's situation the guy was physically disabled. Irl, i think people can handle being quirkless, but being physically disabled is the worst.
@@angax100 He also saved their asses during training camp arc, he is also in more scenes compared to other minor 1-A characters. I can't say for everyone, but he was certainly a character people cared a bit. You gotta remember there is a certain disdain towards quirkless people in MHA's world, if you wanted to be a hero it is pretty much impossible without a quirk. The reason it's so tragic for Aoyama is that he essentially represents what Deku could've been if instead of having received One For All, he had fallen into an All For One's scheme. The real point of the twist isn't the betrayal itself, but how that ties so well with so many elements in the story, and Aoyama's character.
I mean it's fair and all, but like Aoyama wanted Izuku to know which is why the cheese message was there. Also, not sure if you knew or not, Aoyama was legit looking at us the viewers and at where the camera is. And also, he had the his hero name foreshadowed including the class president vote which he never voted. Izuku had noticed something was up but couldn't really do anything about that, as the situations with the villain etc. And Toru was actually looking out for him which explains WHY she was awake in the forest camp. While YES, it doesn't have the AOT traitor, but it was shown by other characters that they noticed him but couldn't do anything about it
Yeah, I know about those hints you mentioned, and it's certainly better than nothing. But like I said in the video, I don't really like most of the hints because of how vauge they are. For example when dabi sees him in the forest. It's not spesifically implied that dabi let him go, it's played more off like he got distracted by twice and just thought it was nothing
@@KumoBear12 actually it kinda does as he legit looked at where Aoyama was but decided to let go. You know that Dabi wouldn't have just kill Aoyama right there
@@KumoBear12that is for the intense effect. On top of that, he DID want expose or knowing Dabi's character to likely say: "why are you here?" Type of thing I can see Dabi do, cause he should have been with Tokoyami etc, not alone
If the plot twist happened with a main character that we had more time with, that we actually care about, it would be more impactful instead of a character that no one cared about from the very beginning. I literally felt nothing and it felt like the creator was trying to make somebody reverent. 😂
Neito Monoma would have made such a better traitor. Imagine if the Copy quirk was a failed reproduction of All For One. I mean the story basically writes itself. Or maybe All For One tempts him with a way to hold copied quirks indefinitely.
I think similarly to the Dabi = Touya twist, the point here wasn't WHO was the traitor, but rather HOW that person being the traitor tied to both the story as a whole and the moment at which it took place, and how it changes the dinamic of said character. And I gotta say it was done well. Not only pretty much EVERYTHING about Aoyama's character makes sense with it, but it also creates a neat parallel with Midoriya, about how he received One For All from Toshinori and Aoyama received his from All For One. It also presented a situation similar to Gentle's, how because of this bad deed, his future as a hero would be sullied, but he still had the chance to be a hero and do his part. I won't deny that as far a the "surprise!" aspect of plottwists go, Horikoshi is quite bad at it, but he's really good at writting the overall consequences and developments of his twists.
MHA got really bad after My Villian Academia which is weird because that’s like top 3 arcs but after that Horikoshi got sick and the writing of the manga took a huge hit. It’s crazy because current MHA’s art is top 3 manga OAT in terms of details, shading, and line art imo but the writing is just… bad.
"theres nothing that would indicate this" really? He's the only person who's quirk hurts him from using it even slightly, he is extremely distant to the rest of his class, he's the only one who acts like he can understand deku's quirk, ie the only other character we knew who had been quirkless before being given a quirk, he's constantly been shady, he's the only character in the anime who looks at the audience directly likes hes on some FNaF shit, he disappeared during the villain attack in the USJ, and he tries to sabotage himself multiple times throughout the manga. Hell people have been saying its Aoyama ever since Dabi looked him square in the face and ignored him. Also it's covered more in the manga I think, but its said that Hagakurei told Deku about Aoyama because she'd been watching him since he was being sketchy, thats how they found him out.
I think it might come down to execution. If I had liked how they handled the reveal, it might have made more sense, but looking at the “hints” we were given, they all seemed way too vague, to the point where they felt like they were retroactively changed to fit the narrative
@@KumoBear12 I mean people have been saying he’s the traitor since season one, vocal pineapples been saying it for years now. Yah there are things like him sacrificing himself that are vague hints but the USJ, Dabi, and his quirk hurting him have been telling people since the beginning of the show. Genuinely no offense, but just because YOU couldn’t see the foreshadowing doesn’t mean it wasn’t there.
…I did see the foreshadowing. Like I said, I thought it was bad. And just because people were able to figure it out doesn’t really matter? Like there has never been a twist in fiction that no one has been able to predict.
@@KumoBear12 I mean you say that the audience gets no indication but then also say that the hints were there they were just small so it’s hard to tell what your actual take is. Someone else commented about how you contradict yourself too. But the reason I said people have been guessing its Aoyoma isn’t as a way to justify him as being a good traitor but to say you’re wrong about the hints given being too minuscule to pick up on and the audience not getting a chance to work it out themselves. As I said, a majority of the audience did work it out themselves and has been for years. Plus your point on any of the side characters being able to be the trader doesn’t make much sense. Most of the classmates have some form of back story that makes them unable to be the trader, yah they aren’t as fledged out as other anime’s side characters but mha wasn’t supposed to be this long and most of the side characters weren’t supposed to be as fledged out as they currently are and yet most of class 1.A. has more character development than the Konoha 12. The only people who the trader could have easily switched roles with due to them having no story and compatible quirks is literally just Ojiro, sero and seto, but they would be even more obvious that their quirks aren’t their own due to the nature of their quirks. Hagakure can’t be switched as her quirk is the reason they found out Aoyoma was the traitor.
When I say that the audience gets no indication, I am basically that the indication we do get is so bad that it shouldn’t even count, and I go on to explain why. Again your point about people guessing it and figuring it out doesn’t matter. There could have been literally 0 hints or clues and at least one person would have figured it out. The traitor could have been some random side character who’s only had one line of dialogue, and there would have been at least one person who would have guessed him
Ayama is the only one from his class whose kwerk (i forgot how to white cwerk the right way im sorry) who needs a Devise to SURVIVE his qwerk. His qwerk literally KILLS HIM. Every Charakter Has a drawback from his qwirk but they its not deadly.
Saw this getting dunked on twitter so had to see for myself. I agree the execution couldve been handled way better As per usual twitter is filled with drooling morons that only react to the title without watching the vid
Dude, that’s kind of the point of secret reveals you don’t see it coming if I got 1 million hands of who it could’ve been that wouldn’t be shocking anymore. That’s like dabi being endeavor son being shocking it wasn’t shocking I honestly thought they made that relatively clear from the minute we saw him. Yama being the traitor is something no one sees coming you’re not supposed to get hints on it then that wouldn’t be shocking just plain obvious in the face. Reveal wasn’t shocking it was obvious as fuck that it was his kid for fuck sake. They had the same fucking power the only one fire in the shit
Yeah so there can be a happy medium. For a good reveal to happen, the audience needs to be able to work it out on their own if they really try, by getting subtle hints.
@@KumoBear12 No, they don't need that. Theres been plenty of stories where they made insane reveals that came out of no where, but then when revealed were actually explainable. Genuienly just think you're bitching for the sake of bitching 💀
Yeah there were plenty of hints to work that one out for both the audience and the characters in the show. Reiner escaping the female titans hand, the female Titan looking at her hand right after and then suddenly running away. Reiner constantly asking where eren is. All the weird conversations Reiner bertolt and Annie had. Reiner seeing Ymir be able to read a different language. Bertolt almost biting his hand and transforming into a Titan when they are surrounded by titans. Reiner looks like the armoured Titan. Other than that there’s a lot of more subtle hints, like Reiner trying to convince connie titans can’t speak. Or the two of them being really scared when they see the beast Titan. At the very start of the story they talk about their homeland. Some more stuff too, but yeah there’s definitely a lot of hints, and this is all accomplished like 7 episodes into its second season, unlike mha’s 7 seasons.
I just love the way everyone was sure Denki or Hagakure were the traitors and when people just started to forget there was a traitor at all. Bum. There is a traitor, they are Aoyama, the one NO ONE had suspected on. (I litterally remember a video eassey discarding him THE FIRST). And suddenly it all makes sense, him being quirkless, the cheese, him going to Deku. If one thing it was, was unexpected. And that's just how I would have wanted the reveal to be. The author took one sentence in season one and completely ignored it until they accidentanly discover him. And if they hadn't they just would have all died at war. I don't care if aot had this huge arc were they discarded the traitors one for one. I'm not looking for a aot academia. I'm watching a different series and that reveal was beautifull
Every complaint is valid EXCEPT from the fact that the viewer couldn't figure it out. Aoyama was by far the number 1 contender for being the traitor for years in the community.
Just because people figured it out doesn’t really make it a good reveal. Like if you use process of elimination and look at every scene he has ever had, it’s not a weird conclusion to come to that he is the traitor. However, the question is whether or not him being the traitor actually makes sense based on the scenes and hints he has had previously, and to me it doesn’t
he was definitely foreshadowed quite a bit. in the USJ thing he wasn't even teleported in the usj like all the students. in the training camp forest bro locked eyes with Dabi, and still did basically nothing. that one time i forgot where he kept telling Deku that their quirk situation is similar. like damn Deku literally got his quirk from someone else. it was such obvious foreshadowing, no way any author would include that for no reason. but you pretty much right its reveal was so trash i physically recoiled into the wall behind me.
I think the reveal would have been better if there was atleast a TINY bit more clues. Like enough to know the something was up with Mr.Naval Lazer. Also, that cheese episode was so weird and the excuse that Aoyama was asking for help does NOT help. Honestly, if the traitor was someone who was more important in the class then the reveal would have been waaaaay better.
It would've made more sense if it was a pro hero, but they had to make it a student at UA, like most of class 1-A didn't even barely get a single ounce of screen time each season, like I would've been more happy if the traitor was a teacher at UA, cause it's not like pros haven't been shown to be traitors before, I mean look at Nagant, even though she wasn't technically a hero, she still did good for her country and got wrapped up with AFO, so it's not like they could've not made a pro the traitor, like at first, I was thinking it would be Aizawa, like he expelled multiple students first day, was just an all around menacing character, and was confirmed to be an underground hero
@@KumoBear12 your videos mostly consists of jjk, i don’t have a problem with that but saying the traitor’s plot line is even bad is kinda crazy since it was foreshadowed hundreds of chapters ago and it played a role on Deku’s and Aoyama’s character.
@Kevin-jg5gu The thing is that the Traitor plotline is more developed than most things Jjk gives, the plot is not anything crazy but it’s simply not bad or something that doesn’t makes sense. The plot was interesting and essential even tho not the best executed.
@Kevin-jg5gu Jjk is MID, it does NOT take storytelling to any level, it consists in cool and well choreographed fights and meaningless characters deaths to captivate the viewer, and the animation in season 2 had people saying it was peak anime when it’s simply another anime with an interesting plot but was fumbled because of the author’s flawed writing. Both Mha and Jjk are still good but saying Jjk’s writing is even better than Mha’s is a complete insult. Mha does everything better than Jjk other than fight choreography and consequences.
@Kevin-jg5gu Mha takes time to develop the plot and has one of the best characters specially villains in current shounen, Sukuna is 1% of what Shigaraki, Dabi or Toga are in terms of writing and development. Im not even gonna mention the terrible traitor plot with Mechamaru.
The problem for me isn't even the foreshadowing of him being the traitor, but that fact the traitor was someone we didn't even really care about. Had Aoyama gotten close to Deku and gotten development early on for us to care about him before the reveal, it would've hit harder. Thy easily could've too since back in season 1 and 2 is when Deku struggled the most with his quirk(which Aoyama only notices in like Season 5 I think). There's also the fact that during the entrance exam, Deku meets Ochaco, Iida, AND Aoyama, however only Ochaco and Iida become close friends with Deku and NOT Aoyama which is also weird because 1. Aoyama was seen standing around the trio like he was also Deku's close friend and 2. Because of Aoyama's mission, it would've made sense to befriend Deku early on(not cuz he would know Deku is the user of OFA, but because he DOESN'T. The way I would've done it is have Aoyama befriend Deku and slowly piece together and realize that the user of OFA is his closest friend and in the time before the reveal, give the viewers more Aoyama screentime/development so that the reveal hits different)
Yeah I think that could have been a solid solution. Would have to flesh out his character a bit more, and that would have been a good opportunity to do so
True If Aoyama would've been at least closed supportive and friend of Izuku then it would it have hit super hard [Kinda like how in GTA 5 same for the Protagonists and You it's hard to killed the main protagonist friends]
@@Blue-mp5mh yeah, it's not just Aoyama who had potential too, Horikoshi really waste the potential of some of the characters. I'll give you an example of what I would've done with a character like Sato...the most background character of 1A. What I would've done is have Sato be the first person to help Deku(and maybe even know the secret of OFA) at the beginning of the story. At the beginning when Deku only used hands and fingers to fight. At this part of the story, you could say Sato had the most similar quirk and could've given Deku tips like how to box and shit. Iida helped Deku with Shootstyle, Tsuyu and Sero helped him with Blackwhip, Uraraka with float, you get the point. It would've been a cool way to incorporate him and have not only Deku but us the audience learn more of these characters as they helped Deku(also would've been nice for Sato to actually have something to say instead of the green food dye which was off screen 💀)
@@DopeyTidepod Sato, Kirishima, and Ojiro would've been mostly an sparring match to give Izuku a progress ....and Aoyama perhaps would've been the Reflexes Styles [But yeah Sato and also Ojiro are the most background characters](Sero a little)
@@Blue-mp5mh yeah, I only say Sato(the Ojiro too but his quirk is limited. He was fucked from the get go unlike Sato who could at least maybe decrease the sugar intake and last longer) as an example but yeah he, Ojiro, and Kirishima(tho I'd leave him with Bakugo) could've helped him learn to fight more. I mean during his match against Todoroki all he could do was flick his fingers...but imagine if he actually through hands after learning from his classmates? That would've made the fight a lot better, add depth to more characters, and make Deku's loss hit harder...it literally writes itself
Alot of commenters already said this but youre contradicting yourself many times in this video and the comments. It just sounds like someone trying to hate
@@KumoBear12 Im looking at the title and what youre trying to argue in the video about foreshadowing and a lot of it is contradictory like even when youre arguing in the comments I saw someone point it out
I came from twt but I wasn’t tryna say anything about this video before I watched it so I’m watching now and cmon bruh, 0:37 no clues or indication? But then you say there is but it’s just bad and then you say there’s no buildup? Even tho Ig I can see your points of there not being too strong off hints, I still think the hints we got were pretty solid and it shows they were due to aoyama being the most theorised about most likely being the traitor. You are right about it being kinda sudden ngl. I don’t agree that it was bad tho, I think it was good for what it was. I fw ur editing tho, you seem cool but I just don’t agree with this, hope you enjoy the rest of the season atleast.
Im absolutely gonna see the rest of the season dude, I legit love my hero it's one of my favorite anime. Basically what I meant when I said there were no clues, was that the clues that we did get were so bad that I didn't even consider them as clues. Maybe what I should have said was "there were no good clues", but I don't think it's that deep tbh
I actually kinda knew that Aoyama would be a traitor. He did mention that he is the same as Deku, meaning that his quirk isn't made for his body. He was notable in UA entrance exam but then forgotten, scene during villains raid on UA camp, where he seemed scared but also guilty. For me it was opposite, too obvious that it was him, I guessed it immediately after the first mentioning of UA traitor and was getting more sure each episode that that's him
Well to be fair starting with the fact that him and midoria are the only people in the show to have quirks that aren't compatible with their bodies showing that they were given quirks and the fact that him and Dabi made eye contact in the forest and Dabi just left shows that there was thought before hand. That being said it was still pretty lame.
I can kinda agree with those two, but not really because again, I feel like they’re to vauge. I feel like we’ve seen a lot of characters struggling with their quirks. Maybe not incompatible, but for example todoroki can’t use ice too long without getting frozen himself, just like how aoyama can’t use the laser for too long without his stomach hurting (which is a lot less serious than todoroki freezing himself). Denki also can’t use his quirk very much without frying himself. There are some other example too like aizawa or the gas dude from the forest in season 3, who needed a gas mask to avoid getting hit with his own quirk. And the Dabi one is a bit weird to me, because Dabi continues to walk towards him, and only stops because Twice distracts him, so it’s unclear why he was going there in the first place, and why he stopped walking. Both of these are points that I’m sure the author did purposefully, but ends up falling a bit flat imo
Bro, i somehow knew he was the traitor THREE YEARS AGO, AND I HAVENT READ THE MANGA NOT ANIME, I only watched four seasons and one movie, but js this year.
The Aoyama traitor reveal in My Hero Academia may initially appear sudden to some viewers, but it's essential to consider the narrative and character development that lead up to this moment. While some argue that there were no clues or buildup, the series subtly foreshadowed Aoyama's struggles and internal conflicts throughout several arcs. Throughout the series, there have been subtle hints and foreshadowing regarding the traitor among Class 1-A. For instance, Aoyama's character has been portrayed as somewhat enigmatic and mysterious from the beginning. His behavior, such as his frequent stomachaches and moments of solitude, hinted at inner conflicts or secrets he was struggling with. These clues, while not overtly pointing to betrayal, created a foundation for later revelations. Gradual Build-up of Suspicion: The reveal of Aoyama as the traitor wasn't entirely out of the blue. The narrative built up a gradual sense of suspicion around various characters, including Aoyama, through small but significant moments. This buildup allowed the audience to speculate and theorize about potential traitors within Class 1-A, thus engaging them in the mystery surrounding Aoyama's true allegiance. Narrative Timing and Impact: The timing of the reveal was strategic in terms of narrative impact. It occurred during a critical moment in the story where tensions were high and stakes were escalating. This timing not only heightened the dramatic tension but also underscored the significance of Aoyama's role in the broader plot, particularly in relation to the League of Villains and their schemes. Character Development and Internal Conflict: Aoyama's reveal as the traitor provided a deep exploration of his character, delving into his internal conflicts and motivations. It showcased his vulnerability and the moral dilemmas he faced, which added layers to his character development. This approach not only humanized Aoyama but also made his betrayal more nuanced and understandable within the context of his personal struggles. Realistic Imperfections in Espionage: In espionage narratives, characters are often portrayed as imperfect and prone to mistakes, which humanizes them and adds realism to their actions. Aoyama inadvertently revealing his secret due to a moment of vulnerability aligns with this narrative trope. It highlights the complexities of maintaining a double life and the risks associated with espionage, even for a character like Aoyama who had been careful until that point. Narrative Impact and Audience Engagement: While some may argue that characters should deduce the traitor's identity themselves, the narrative choice to have Aoyama's secret overheard serves a purpose. It shifts the focus from a purely deductive approach to one that emphasizes the impact of betrayal on relationships and trust within the class. This narrative decision enhances the emotional stakes and engages the audience on a deeper level. Moreover, the way in which the reveal unfolds underscores the unpredictability of espionage and betrayal. In real-life espionage, traitors often maintain a facade of normalcy until a critical moment exposes their true allegiance. Aoyama's inadvertent reveal during a vulnerable moment reflects this realism, where characters sometimes inadvertently disclose their secrets under pressure or emotional duress. Furthermore, the reaction of characters like Deku and his classmates to the reveal adds depth to the storyline. Instead of simply overhearing Aoyama's confession, they had to grapple with the shock and betrayal from someone they trusted. In conclusion, the Aoyama traitor reveal was not merely a comedic or contrived moment but rather a culmination of subtle clues, character development, and narrative timing designed to enrich the story and deepen the themes of trust and deception. And you can argue that the clues were too subtle; however, the hints and clues leading to Aoyama being the traitor were intentionally subtle to reflect the realism of espionage and undercover operations. In real life, traitors often go unnoticed until a critical moment reveals their true allegiance. The series aimed to portray this authenticity by not telegraphing obvious signs of betrayal, which adds a layer of complexity and unpredictability to the storyline.
@AntFr-ok4fy This is my opinion . I only used AI, paraphrase, and grammar checkers to modify words to make them flow better. Since if I used the original essay you wouldn’t understand anything that was written. Not to insult you. Maybe consider that first before talking next time.
@AntFr-ok4fy I did, though. Of course, it feels like a book. The entire argument is long. When I say I modified it to flow better, I mean that I summarized, organized the ideas, and used better words to make the argument flow better and more efficiently, making it easier to understand for those who’d bother to read it. Seriously, I don’t even get what you’re trying to say, “it feels like reading a book.” So what? Like, what exactly are you trying to say? Get to the point, like first you say, “Write your own argument,” and when I explain what I did, you say, “This proves it,” like proves what? What is being proven? How is my use of AI to modify my essay bad? Answer my questions, and while you’re at it, do you mind making your point clear? So I can understand why you’re getting angry over me trying to make my argument flow better. I’m sorry if I’m sounding rude here, but I really don’t understand what you’re trying to say, so do you mind getting to the point you’re trying to make?
@AntFr-ok4fy You using the AI test doesn’t really prove anything. I once used AI to modify a program I was working on and still said it was created by AI even when I changed a few things it still gave the same thing even to the things I modified. For it to not show 90%, I’d have to change the entire thing, and if I changed the entire thing, that would defy the point of me using AI to modify the argument. And for the record, I don’t just copy and paste whatever AI gives me; I made sure to read the modified version to see if it fits well, and flows better so you don’t have to worry about that. Still, thanks for the advice.
@@greenster906 that within itself makes zero sense as a conception. Because AFO actively tells them everything and U.A had the capacity to deduce that there was a traitor in the first place???
Just because a plot twist happens out of nowhere, it doesn’t make it bad. Could they have done a better job of explaining away WHY he was the traitor? Absolutely, but I wouldn’t go as far as to say it was the worst plot twist in all of anime. The OG Full Metal Alchemist series ended with one of the strangest plot twists because it ran out of manga to adapt, not that this is a defense, it’s still bad, but there was a way to make it better than what it was and it just ended up leading to a very, while interesting, very odd & out of place movie to end off the original run of FMA until Brotherhood came out.
Read pinned. Also I agree, plot twists can sometimes happen out of nowhere and still be very good, because every story is different. But this story I think needed better setup
Just asked AI, here is the answer: “The average view-to-like ratio on RUclips can vary widely depending on the type of content and the engagement level of the audience. However, a common benchmark is around 4-5% (i.e., 4-5 likes per 100 views).” I’m sure your smart enough to do the math on this video, to see if the percentage is similar. The ratio is also typically lower for smaller channels such as mine due to a lack of an established audience, so I’d say I’m doing pretty good👍
The traitor was supposed to be revealed during the Forest Training Camp arc but the entire arc had to be cut short because of Japanese fan reception. This was way before MHA was super popular like it is now. The reason it seems poorly planned is because it was a change from the original plan that Horikoshi had, it just wasn't ever meant to be this long spanning mystery.
@@KumoBear12 Real. I'm pretty sure that's the way it is now since MHA is insanely popular but Forest Training was either before the anime started or very early on into it. Maybe it's first season. Poor Horikoshi has had multiple works of his prematurely canceled in the past too so he was probably pretty jumpy about any number drops
I seen only the anime and this was not out of nowhere there are multiple scenes of his interaction ootential with the big bad guy all for one and beingjng to attention his mind about doibting them and stuff. I havent seen the nee season i prefer to wait for things to come out. I already knew hebwas traitor cause i watched the show.
I knew that Aoyama was the traitor from manga spoilers, what I did not know was how it was gonna be revealed. When I saw that scene start I was just like "wait its just like that?"
I disagree with your AoT take, you can undoubtedly switch all of those characters and it would make sense. I say this simply off the basis that we don’t actually learn almost anything about Reiner, Annie, or Bertholdht until AFTER their traitor reveal, so literally any of them could play the role Annie did at the point in the story and Annie could’ve swapped with any of them too. It’s a poor comparison considering the story structure
Im talking about the hints of those characters being titans. Like the example with reiner and the hand. If reiner wasn't on annies side, it wouldn't have made any sense for annie to suddenly look at her hand and change course. Therefore reiner had to be a titan
i remember i read somewhere that aoyama’s reveal supposed to happen sooner like around the camp arc, maybe the editor or who told horikoshi to reveal it a bit later
Even tho Horikoshi kind of teased aoyama being the traitor when we saw him spying on deku while he was sleeping, aoyama being the traitor was indeed really random and sudden
JJK they had a similar thing go down in season 2 where the ADULTS of the show used deductive reasoning along with the process of elimination to identify who would of most likely been the traitor ASAP! therefore Jujutsu Kaisen makes MHA look like a Saturday morning cartoon.
What yall mad about 💀 Aoyama wasnt very noticeable for a reason making him a character close to deku it wouldve been obvius he a traitor is crazy how yall will search for any way to hate on mha plot yet if another anime does this is fine
I can agree with the fact that it was revealed at the most random moment. I was literally watching the episode and then boom Aoyama is the traitor. I seriously checked a couple of times to make sure I wasn’t missing something. But I also feel like it was kinda foreshadowed when Aoyama started trying to get closer to Deku due to their similarities when it comes to them being quirkless. Then again that was just it for me. It’s not like the dots were connected when it came to Aoyama. I honestly expected it to be Hakagure for these exact reasons you mentioned. I honestly love MHA, but it certainly does have its flaws. Like I mentioned before, just hearing the random conversation between Aoyama and his parents out of the blue to say that he is the traitor, to me, kinda seemed like Horikoshi forgot about the UA traitor? Honestly idk. But the execution needed to be done a bit better in my opinion. And I was not joking when I said I had to double check that episode to see if I had missed something. I was like”…Wait what?”😂😂
Why Demon Slayer? Because of the bad anime adaptation? But that doesn't matter since the manga and other content is so peak and fans are relatively good too.
@@natalimoina No, anime is great actually and on the surface level it looks amazing. But when you start thinking about various plot points and characters - it gets real sad. And then you're truly left with good animation.
I agree that the way the traitor was portrayed was weak because the only time, or at least the last time something about the traitor was mentioned was when the present mic said it suspected the teachers and that was in season 3 I think after the training camp. And as someone already mentioned in the comments, the thread with the traitor was supposed to be resolved at that time. Dragging it to arc war wouldn't have been a bad idea, if the thread didn't abruptly break off like that, and someone would have mentioned it, and it would have been apparent that at least the teachers were trying to resolve it, because I can understand that the students, even the very intelligent ones, had grown close to each other and didn't want to suspect each other, and the teachers as pro hero are out of suspicion on their part. And someone also mentioned that the reveal of the traitor would have generated more excitement if Aoyama had appeared more often, being closer to Deku or Bakugo, as it was through Aoyame that Katsuki was kidnapped. But one thing from the film I disagree with is that there were no hints as to the traitor's identity. They may have been too small things and not touched on enough times, but some hints were there. For example, that in the attack on USJ, only Aoyama's whereabouts were not given, because the rest of the people we either saw in the flashbacks or later talked about it like Hagakure, who was in the landslide area where Todoroki was. Just how did LOV know when 1A would be in USJ, but more importantly how did they know the location of the training camp when it was changed after Deku and Shigaraki met. Watching the anime myself, I had forgotten about the traitor theme by the fact that it was only brought up once or twice after the camp. And maybe it was because the traitor had already been revealed, but I can see that there was another clue that could point to a possible traitor, namely the conversation between Aoyama and Deku regarding the fact that Deku's gift just like Yugi's gift was not compatible with their bodies. It was quick to point out that Aoyama was the only one (other than Izuku) who needed an object to support him when using the gift (as seen at the sports festival, where he was the only one to ask to be able to use the belt), and was quick to overload the gift, which caused him stomach problems. So did Deku, who until the middle of season 2 was breaking his bones every time he used the gift, because his body wasn't equipped for it at the time. A bit long it came out but in conclusion I agree that the motif of betrayal was crappily carried out, but some small hints were there
The starts and strips and ayoma was rushed due to fan reception in japan and the horokoshi editor decision also the training arc is anime orginal content
I disagree with you. There were definitely hints at Aoyama being the traitor even back in season 1. Plus your acting like Aoyama and his parents were shouting out that they were working for AFO in a public place. They were in private being spied on by a character whose only thing is being stealthy. Also them having that conversation and his change in behavior in general makes sense because the conversation is about what to do now that Deku returned to UA.
@@KumoBear12 regardless of how far she was away when you hear Aoyama’s parents speaking they clearly aren’t yelling. And what’s the problem with Deku sneaking up on them? They are just regular people after all and he does it quickly and he’s implied to have heard little if any of their conversation.
It had to be Aoyama he’s a character literally none of us care about for the most part and he is just a character not much special about his personality or anything other than he’s fancy and weird
Imagine if Uraraka was the traitor, she always said that she wanted to become a hero just because of money, plus she's always close to Deku. That would've been a real plot twist, such a missed opportunity to make the story interesting

That's kinda cool ig
Guess he really did mean it with his hero name "i can't stop twinkling" he can't stop using his given quirk, he can't stop helping AFO, he can't stop snitching or else he and his family will die
Cringe

@@FinalJinchuurikiare you braindead
I think it was a good twist, just because it’s out of no where doesn’t mean it’s bad. I also like how he was a Mirror of Izuku in terms of also being born without a quirk, making him more sympathetic. Though yeah the whole forest overhearing thing wasn’t a great way to do it, could’ve been done more naturally with more foreshadowing. But it definitely wasn’t terrible
yeah
The traitor plot was way better received in the anime by people than in the manga, and the plot does works tbh
@AntFr-ok4fyit was better received in the anime mostly because of the voice acting, it just better enhances the scene
plus the pacing
Star’s fight also plays a key role with Deku’s fight with shigaraki in the manga so saying she didn’t contribute to the story is a lie
The only issue with it is that we should’ve seen her earlier in the story. We already know she was the girl all might saved in the first movie, but we should’ve seen more of her earlier on
That’s just contributing to the story plot wise tho. I thought she was going to get character development and contribute to the overall message of the story. Any character could have been brought in randomly to take away some of his quirks
@@KumoBear12 yeah, she should’ve been shown more. That’s the only issue I have with it
Look back, the guy was pretty sus but only to the audience.

Bones has also perfected the animation so much too.
They have even done it so well that some anime scenes are way better than the manga.
Animation has been pretty solid as usual
This is such a lie 😭
They didn’t perfect the animation and they constantly adapt the scenes wrong. Look at shoto vs dabi in the manga vs the anime for an example

@@YurokiHakugaisha you sound so corny. Are you 13?
People are allowed to criticize anime. You want ppl to blindly like things and that’s mad pathetic. Grow up
Outside of the blue sky (which is still bad and ruins the tone of the tone of the WAR and before you say sum stupid, MHA’s blue sky is the exact same and never changes. Other animes will change the blue tone of skies to match scenes. Learn what pathetic fallacy is. There’s an edit that changes the blue tone to make fit the war.) the anime still has issues
The don’t properly adapt things such as the shoto vs dabi panel with the all might statue in the back looming over them while Shoto is rising above everyone including the statue. It’s important symbolism that’s stripped from the anime and doesn’t look good whatsoever
Still frames are still present and will be present for future fights, but hopefully things improve
The anime itself has been on the decline in quality which was shown with how they fumbled Deku vs shigaraki in the first war.
However, the Author said he thought this shit was going to be 30 volumes (for reference, that means this series would have been 6 seasons)
So I’m going to have to disagree with you on the Aoyama stuff, I thought it was foreshadowed just enough.
@@arcticflames6932 REAL
All for One didn’t choose Aoyama as some special person when he gave him his quirk. He didn’t originally plan for him to be a UA spy, he was giving out quirks to anyone who asked. He did so to assemble an army of people who owed him. Aoyama getting into UA when All Might became a teacher is what made All for One finally ask for his “you owe me,” which ended up being the task of being a UA spy. He gives out useless quirks to disposable people like this since the useful ones go to his true henchmen and himself.
Ah yeah u right
I agree that figuring it out became obvious, after narrowing it down to who it could not be.
No way you said there was NO indication that aoyama was a traitor....
I say later in the video that the indications that were there, were really bad
Its also lne oof the writing techniques. You have something the audience knows or figures out the other characters done yet. Builds suspence drama etc
actually I think there were a few clues but that may just be me reading into small details
You know that Dabi wouldn't have just kill Aoyama right there
So why was he walking towards him in the first place?
@@KumoBear12that is for the intense effect. On top of that, he DID want expose or knowing Dabi's character to likely say: "why are you here?" Type of thing I can see Dabi do, cause he should have been with Tokoyami etc, not alone

Mechameru traitor plot was not bad tho.
Right !
this is the only good thing to come out of this video, great comment!

I’m not against Aoyama being the traitor, but I was more lenient on Kaminari
The traitor could have been some random side character who’s only had one line of dialogue, and there would have been at least one person who would have guessed him
I’m starting to see why ppl hate mha stans, some of yall actin crazy😭

Dude, that’s kind of the point of secret reveals you don’t see it coming if I got 1 million hands of who it could’ve been that wouldn’t be shocking anymore. That’s like dabi being endeavor son being shocking it wasn’t shocking I honestly thought they made that relatively clear from the minute we saw him.

Exactly. I love your comment. If only they executed the reveal a bit better cuz golly I was shocked for a bit before it then just vanished.
The cheese scene is actually just laughable💀like there is no way they expected us to take that serious
@@KumoBear12 The force-feeding cheese thing 💀
Bro death-stares us in every scene he’s in prior to this season, that alone should of made everyone suspicious.
If nagant was a teacher from the start and turned into a traitor that would have been cool
Man you’re really downplaying mha but gassing jjk, makes no sense
I didn’t talk about jjk in this video?
Would have to flesh out his character a bit more, and that would have been a good opportunity to do so
True
If Aoyama would've been at least closed supportive and friend of Izuku then it would it have hit super hard
[Kinda like how in GTA 5 same for the Protagonists and You it's hard to killed the main protagonist friends]

For me it was opposite, too obvious that it was him, I guessed it immediately after the first mentioning of UA traitor and was getting more sure each episode that that's him
I actually didn't mind it
Well to be fair starting with the fact that him and midoria are the only people in the show to have quirks that aren't compatible with their bodies showing that they were given quirks and the fact that him and Dabi made eye contact in the forest and Dabi just left shows that there was thought before hand.
Gradual Build-up of Suspicion:
The reveal of Aoyama as the traitor wasn't entirely out of the blue. The narrative built up a gradual sense of suspicion around various characters, including Aoyama, through small but significant moments. This buildup allowed the audience to speculate and theorize about potential traitors within Class 1-A, thus engaging them in the mystery surrounding Aoyama's true allegiance.
Narrative Timing and Impact:
The timing of the reveal was strategic in terms of narrative impact. It occurred during a critical moment in the story where tensions were high and stakes were escalating. This timing not only heightened the dramatic tension but also underscored the significance of Aoyama's role in the broader plot, particularly in relation to the League of Villains and their schemes.
Character Development and Internal Conflict:
Aoyama's reveal as the traitor provided a deep exploration of his character, delving into his internal conflicts and motivations. It showcased his vulnerability and the moral dilemmas he faced, which added layers to his character development. This approach not only humanized Aoyama but also made his betrayal more nuanced and understandable within the context of his personal struggles.
Realistic Imperfections in Espionage:
In espionage narratives, characters are often portrayed as imperfect and prone to mistakes, which humanizes them and adds realism to their actions. Aoyama inadvertently revealing his secret due to a moment of vulnerability aligns with this narrative trope. It highlights the complexities of maintaining a double life and the risks associated with espionage, even for a character like Aoyama who had been careful until that point.
Narrative Impact and Audience Engagement:
While some may argue that characters should deduce the traitor's identity themselves, the narrative choice to have Aoyama's secret overheard serves a purpose.
@AntFr-ok4fy Whats proof to what? How is me modifying my essay to make it flow better bad exactly?
I love that twist, I don't get the hate!

It’s a poor comparison considering the story structure
