1000000000000%. i have seen so many people talking bout how this remake is pointless because we already have toei's version, but that's nonsense. i feel like the pre-time skip pacing wasn't too bad at all, but my god the pacing post-time skip is fucking unbearable, ESPECIALLY in dressrosa and wano. don't get me wrong i love the current anime (maybe or maybe not because i'm an obsessive weeb who was going to slog through those hundreds of episodes no matter what, as well as having all the time in the world to binge it since i started it back in the 9th grade), but if people really think that it's a good way for newcomers to get into the series, they're just flat out lying. i really think it's not a bad shout to say that a one piece anime with good pacing that brings the entire runtime of the fully completed series to 400-500 episodes + completely modern animation + upgraded sound effects is automatically in contention for GOAT anime.
Also something that gets impacted by the anime presentation and pacing is that Luffy is kind of mischaracterised. In the manga he isn't as stupid as he initially seems per se, but he simply refuses to let his thoughts dictate his actions most of the time. He often does crazy things before you even know it. In the anime you literally see him thinking, only to make crazy and/or stupid decisions.
@zalgoat Yes and the anime completely misses this part of his character and misunderstand it for stupidity. They even add or change early on some things for the sake of funny haha Luffy idiot moments. Reading the manga for the first time I was really surprised with how differently he comes across when compared to the anime. I can only really believe manga Luffy coming up with Gear 2.
Lets compare the filler percentages of the Big 3 weekly animes. One Piece filler: 9% of the total anime Naruto and Naruto Shippuden filler: 41% of the total anime Bleach: 45% of the total anime And our results tend to show that One Piece has bad pacing, meanwhile the other 2 have decent pacing. So unless you dont animate your anime monthly or seasonaly, animating filler episodes is the best way to fix the pacing
i really wish toei cared more or at least op had a studio that cared more. they ruined one pieces reputation and now there’s sm people that would never bat an eye at a story that’s so amazing. and the mfs that try to defend the pacing are annoying asf cus they say that 9% stat but the only reason its so low compared to others is since filler is in every ep. there’s barely full filler eps bc the main ones are dragged out hella so that number is so low
Naruto's and Bleach's pacing still isn't ideal. Not as slow as One Piece's of course but even with them doing more filler, a lot of the canon content still felt tedious to get through.
@@KumoBear12 Nahh back when I watched it as a kid I thought they were good. But looking at it now. The Chunin exams arc had so many dragged out 1v1 fights, same with the Sasuke retrieval arc. Then in Shippuden there was the gaara retrieval arc and the final war arc. Both could’ve been adapted a lot quicker. Bleach’s tedious point was the Karakura battle arc in the arrancar saga.
It won’t be the same without the Straw Hat VA’s. Yeah, the VA’s Wit will choose will most likely be top notch, but the Straw Hat’s(especially Luffy) had legendary VA’s
Yeah I thought about this, but honestly your gonna get used to it immideatly if it's a good enough adaptation and the voices sound somewhat similar to the old ones
One piece was my first anime i watched, so when i watched other animes like attack on titan or jjk i was mindblown by how much it happened on each episode lol
I think the example with sabo is fair but the law one is less so, action scenes will always be longer in animation compared to in a comic or manga, and you can process the information a lot quicker in a manga because its all laid out in front of you
My point with the law example is more that it changes the perception of the attack along with making is slow. But yeah I know obviously its not just going to be still frames. But I still think it’s too dragged out
@@KumoBear12I think balance approach is the best way meaning some fight can be extended from time to time to elevate the source material. Take Naruto Shippuden for example, sure the pacing and filler can be REALLY annoying but the final fight between Naruto and Sasuke are just really well made despite the fight being longer than the manga version. I think Galaxy Impact scene is dragged out too much but Garp vs Aokiji is a good addition. In the manga (ignoring Garp confrontation with other BB pirate), their fight is basically just: Kuzan froze Garp > Garp get out and use Blue Hole > Kuzan cameback and they trade one strong blow > Garp blitz Kuzan > Kuzan froze Garp. Kinda expect more from the confrontation between Hero of the Marine and former Admiral. I really love the anime fight because it extend it in a good way. We can see Kuzan froze and immobilize Garp's feet without him realising it, Garp infusing haki to Kuzan's ice which make the latter have to avoid getting hit by his own element, Garp easily dodging Kuzan's attack and defrost his arm with his Haki, Kuzan try to maintain distance from Garp only for Garp to quickly shattered the ice pillar he standing on, and finally trick Kuzan and sneaking on him so he can use Blue Hole. Probably one of the fight I enjoyed which use those extended time to deliver satisfying fight.
@@Villagerwarrior I don’t mind if they add attacks and parts to fights if it makes sense. Although the Law fight didn’t have anything new, the attacks just took a long time to happen unlike naruto vs sasuke
At least one piece is getting a remake. Imagine how berserk fans must feel if we have good adaptation of one arc only. We need fan studios to create their own seasons to watch something with good quality
@@xandex69 On one hand true. I read the whole manga and then watched 1997 anime. And bought the first deluxe volume with 2nd on the way but let's get serious and admit that good anime adaptation would be amazing. I mean just look at fan animations of Guts vs Rosine. It's god damn amazing so imagine the whole studio
I agree with everything you’ve said except for your take on the new egghead episodes. Sure the pacing is still slow, but the beautiful animation makes up for it in my opinion. It’s a much better alternative to the closeup shots, the shots where nothing is happening, the shots of fodder running, screaming, etc. Toei has improved lately and I find the new episodes much more enjoyable compared to even what we got in Wano
@@DragonBallfan3982 bro read the manga instead. I also started out as watching anime. But when i read the whole series after watching it, i came to know that anime is nothing compared to the manga. I'm still warning you. Read the manga
I don't think the pacing is that problematic until the post-timeskip. Also weekly anime are simply a thing of the past and it is impossible to create episodes of such high quality as epi 1015 on a regular basis. Hell even seasonal shows rarely reach that level. And even if they do it comes at the cost of the animators on horrible schedules. I disagree that early One Piece doesn't look good, especially on a weekly schedule. And there is no way you only enjoyed 1015. Episode 982, 1033, 1074, 1061, 1062 and so on. But Egghead especially. Since it's start there genuenely hasn't been one bad episode. Maybe only one episode that only had one slow scene. They brought in a couple of new directors and they have done a great job despite only the 1 chapter per episode situation. The animators put in a lot of work to add new original scenes to iron out scenes. The panels in the manga only show the key moments. Things happen in between that the manga doesn't show because Oda is limited with the amount of pages. I do agree the manga is of course superior.
The main problems with the anime are pacing and consistency in the animation, but i LOW KEY don't care about those things (They weren't what caught my attention) The anime was my gateway and the lore + songs were fundamental for me to fall in love with One Piece.
Yea it’s funny because they actually have the audacity to cut out a lot of scenes as well, they need all the scraps they can and decided to put padding in instead. There’s also the cover stories they cut out and for some reason there’s no endings lol.
Honestly, for me the voice actors are the reason why I am still watching the anime, they play their characters so well that it makes me forget about the problems in anime sometime. It's a shame they have to work with such a mediocre production.
ihope that in the new remake every episode would have a mini-story after the episode and it will cover the cover stories in the manga. So we can see Enel went to the moon in the anime. It kinda nice if that happens.
fyi, The reason why Nami appears in the anime first and meets Luffy is because that's how Oda always wanted. Nami was supposed to be Luffy's first mate, not Zoro. Oda's editor at the time changed it to Zoro. if you look at the manga Nami is also the one featured in the colorspread and not Zoro. The first episode of the anime is basically a love letter to Oda by Toei and Oda till this day appreciates them for doing that. It might not be accurate to the manga but that was a special episode made to make Oda happy bc he really wanted Nami to be the first one to meet Luffy.
I'm an animation nut and I wanted to see all the cool animation that modern One Piece has to offer. So I just read the manga from Fish Man until I got to Wano. It has been rough, so far. I thought more things would improve since they got a new director since Wano. The new art style is nice, and I think the art and animation is generally better, but they still stretch out scenes for too long.
5:20 ok bro absolute abysmal take. The anime fight is a massive improvement to the manga, The slow-motion shots are very well paced and the stuff that takes up screen time is impressive and beautiful animation. You chose the worst example just to hate for no reason. Also all anime add content to their fight, if sukuna vs mahoraga was manga accurate it would be 30 seconds long.
One thing is adding stuff to a fight to make it better, another is stretching everything out to make it as long as possible. I wish sukuna vs mahoraga was 30 seconds long, but that's a different conversation
@@KumoBear12 As I said, You got the point right but the example is completely wrong. even if the intent was to make the fight longer, the matter of fact is it was made better. "I wish sukuna vs mahoraga was 30 seconds long" Nvm bro is beyond saving 😭
I know it's not the definitive way but One Pace has elevated my watching experience for One Piece SO much. I started it in Thriller Bark and already made it towards the end of Impel Down in a matter of just two weeks. If I had stayed in the Original Anime I genuinely would have dropped the show.
The points made here are quite fair and yes one piece anime isn't perfect, but saying the one piece anime is absolutely garbage...? It has a lot of things that people like me really appreciate. Like the animation! Its absolutely amazing. One piece is an amazing story that people across the world love. You can watch and consume it any form as you like. Manga or the anime one piece is truly beautiful ❤🏴☠
It's absolutely garbage to me. Let's put it this way. If I got a chocolate cake that looked delicious, and had perfect presentation, and the middle part had some really good tasting whipped cream, but, the chocolate itself was made of poo. That would be a garbage cake, despite all the good qualities it had
@@KumoBear12 that's your opinion. while the pacing is a big problem, lotta other things are done right in the anime, mainly the voice acting, prolly some of the best ever. also one piece as a franchise would not be anywhere as big as it is right now without toei, not a lotta people would've cared if it was manga only, that's the truth, one piece is not berserk
@@Yaseen_Arafath This is true. Although I think it would have been even bigger if the anime was actually good and had good pacing. A lot of people can't be bothered to watch it because it's so long. Yes the pacing is bad. Honestly the show needs to be cut in half. But the way you’re comparing the manga to the anime is like you want the anime to be a colored manga slideshow lmao. With no animation between. But yeah I agree with the main point being made.
7:51 I can accept slow scenes especially if they are well done scenes like the one of Sabo who learns of about( )but that's too long fights unless there is good animation like Law vs BB just look at shanks vs kidd the fight dont take that long in manga but with good animation is perfect better episodes of one piece for me better than the manga too for me
I watched normal one piece up until fishman island then dropped it for like 2 years then i started watching it again this september with one pace and at 2x speed (unless its a hype moment) and i finished all of dressrossa in like 4 days while doing other stuff , im currently like 30% into wano and i cant beleive that in 1 month i watched almost the same amount of episodes casually as i did throughout all of 2022 while binge watching a lot also whenever i turn the speed down to normal i feel like im watching it in slow mo so even for hype fights i play it at 1.25 or 1.5x
One piece anime episode from my understanding from long ago (gecko moria arc and just read manga now) is each episode can be divide by three section. Preview from last episode, the new episode and preview for next episode.
honestly the biggest problem with the anime (but which wasn't one initially) is that it began broadcasting only 2 years after the manga which meant that the pace slowed down I think that when adapting the manga into an anime, Toei thought that the manga didn't last that long (I mean at the time the only other jumps series that had lasted more than 500 chapters was DB, Koshikamer and Jojo) another factor that was added is that Oda took a huge break over the years for health reasons, which means that the anime gradually catches up with the manga, this could have been resolved if they had decided to adapt the manga between 2000 and 2002, however as I said he could not have known that the manga would last 27 years, 1124 chapters and 109 volumes, in fact no one knew that the manga would last that long (including Oda) . another point that could have been proposed would have been to increase the number of filler episodes (on condition of not being in exaggerations like in detective conan) it would have allowed for a better rhythm if it had had more arc fillers I will even say I would have even preferred that it is an arc filler between those of Wano and egghead
Hope they do Justice in Sanji fighting scene like in OP Movies and Current eps like He VS Queen,I remember Animation of Sanji VS Gin...the pacing even they dragging his simp😭,
I feel like they are forced to do that since if they adapt the manga without the extended scenes, they would catch up to the manga very quickly. Since they are a weekly anime making tons of money they just gotta do this. Im just happy there arent much filler episodes lately, id rather have extended scenes i can fast forward than waiting a week or two just for an episode
as an anime watcher that would always spoil himself on major fight events of the manga i would always get dissapointed to find out toei doesnt give a sht about making the episode scene like the manga, the level of cool and seriousness of fights in the manga is just diffferent compared to the anime (at leastr before egghead) just think about luffy vs doflamingo for example, if you know you know bra, manga art style just looks and feels dope anime makes it look like we back at east blue fighting don krieg just with coller powers art style still not as serious as the manga, tbh not serious AT ALL! (13:48) This video made me realize, Im never arguing with one piece haters again its their opinion and i gotta respect it.
I started one piece about 9 months ago and I'm finally all caught up, even though I've been told the anime is not worth watching over reading, I still decided to watch it for lots of reasons. When it comes to shounen for some reason action scenes and emotional bits just don't hit as hard when I'm reading it compared to watching it, cuz even though the anime does ruin certain bits a lot by its horrible pacing, I still prefer it over the manga cuz the animation is at the very worst good enough but the voice acting and general soundtrack are all fantastic. As an example on why I would prefer the anime is because once I caught up, I started to read the rest of the manga, and it's at 1133, if you're caught up you KNOW what happens and I've heard countless people saying they've cried for a good 5 minutes after finishing that chapter, but once I got there I didn't shed a single tear for some reason and I couldn't stop thinking that if I watched this animated like "I want to live" it would have hit way harder, that scene btw probably being the scene in any single piece of media that has made me cry that much, Robin's voice actress fucking nails that performance and I can't think of that scene without crying
I don't mind the anime but I desperately want a remake lol. More for the fact that even though I don't mind the pacing/animation problems, I know a lotttt of people do and the fact one piece is still loved despite that shows how insane the story actually is Also I agree about the panelling in post timeskip, it's not even the text bubbles for me it's the amount of stuff actually drawn. I honestly wouldn't mind if there was not much background drawn besides the grand and massive scenes, like Luffy's shadow in Skypiea
@@KumoBear12 that Blackbeard speech is one of my favorite panels of the series, and the fully white background makes it. I know Oda's editors can't really say shit to him at this stage but that is the only thing I genuinely think is a reoccurring issue in the manga
Agreed, I didn’t really notice the panelling issue until someone pointed it out to me, and I compared it to the earlier volumes. Clarity and how easy it is to read is really underrated
I started my One Piece journey with the manga and have only recently decided to switch over to the anime because the manga has gotten so cluttered it’s hard for me to follow and I’ve seen the hype anime clips so I thought I’d give it a try. Started watching at Zou and just reached Whole Cake Island.
@ I can certainly understand why ppl say pacing is a big problem. Even just the recap and reintroduction of the crew adding up to 6min. (including the opening) is extremely unnecessary for those of us who have been watching almost 1k episodes. That’s not even taking into account how much they stretch the chapters as you pointed out in your video. I’m actually considering skipping straight to the Raid of Onigaishima to see gear 5 animated and get to Egghead.
I gave up watching one piece when I finished skypiea around 3 years ago. Ever since then I’ve been shitting on one piece until I met this one dude who kept glazing it. Finally I started reading again this week, after 4 days of reading I’ve started the skypiea arc, and I’ve enjoyed the whole manga so far. 4 days for what previously took me a whole year of watching. Imma slow down after I catch up to where I was cause I’d like to finish closer to the actual time the mangas over tho since I think it’ll be in the next couple years.
Holy crap... I have never read the manga so I had nothing to compare the anime to but watching your video made me realize something... I should probably read the manga instead. Edit: Ok so I get that the anime is not as good as the manga but you just crossed a line here. For those of you who have not seen the anime yet... Is not as bad as this guy says. The anime is the reason I love One Piece and it has PLENTY of great moments so I'm sorry, but saying that the anime is ass is just not true. Could be better? Sure. The pacing sucks? Most of the times, yes. But saying its ass or not worth watching it? No. Completely disagree.
i had just reached the weekly episodes on the anime and for curiosity wanted to see what's was next on the manga (was on that part where blackbeard and aokiji encounter each other and then drink together later), and I was surprised by how quickly I could read all of that. And the most funny part to me is that when the episode for this chapter came on anime that part where I had read it in like 1 minute took 10 minutes on the anime. It's insane how much they extended the scenes.
But the seiyus are the best, they have a lot emotional scenes and well delivered dialogues. Oda even invite each one of the strawhats in a a little corner of the sbs to interview them, all of them are good friends and understand the characters so perfect. For me that would be the biggest lost in the new remake. Also the anime make the skin color of the characters different and in a way it make the story feel more diverse, Oda also said that he changed the color of kumas outfit because he prefered the one from the anime. There are scenes that ae iconic for the animation, soundtrack and acting. People forget this becaue they only focus on the bad pacing. I still want a remake because i want to watch this new aproach ,but i think people are being too unfair with toei
most seyuu are quite old and what's more, this is often the case in remakes, I've never seen anyone complain about the change of seyuu in HXH 2011 and Berserk 2012 and I doubt, for example, that he's keeping the seyuu from the fruit basket remake and then nothing stops them from hiring the old seyuu so that he can interpret old characters like yassop, bell mere, DR kureha
I get why the pacing horrible and this is because if your so caught up to the manga (like 40 chapters behind) and your going at like 3 or 4 chapters an episode then you’re going to catch up to the manga, and you’ll have nothing to animate, so this is where filler comes in but you can’t really make filler in the middle of the arc it would feel weird and look weird so the only thing to do is make filler in between arcs but this would make people bored and mad with the anime, this is also why I stopped Naruto towards the end it got like super boring and I dropped it, so that’s why Toei can’t really do anything.
Pacing is a problem sure but its unfair that you havent adressed the good stretch of nowadays. In Egghead, We're receiving quite good paced episodes with extra anime content that is of course, Allowed by Oda. Who even advised the Wit Studio to remake One piece in their own style, Rather than being consistent to the manga.
The One piece anime should be 500-600 episodes max the fact that there are going to be more episodes than chapters soon is absolutely crazy 1117 episodes to 1124 chapters is just horrible
definitely especially as for the reason for the number of episodes are not the filler episodes but just the canon episodes which have a slow pace even by removing the episode fillers we always arrive at 1020 episodes where in the case of detective conan by removing the episode fillers we arrive at 600 canon episodes
@bafenada1141 i dont think the amount of episodes is such a big problem. Yes it is too much and could easily be slimmed down to 700 to 800 eps but the main issue is the pacing, not the amount of eps
I understand that the pacing problems are bad and fight scenes are stretched out, but using law vs bb as an example is crazy. The slow mo and stuff adds weight behind the attacks and the animation makes it 20x better.
The first thing he mentioned is actually one of the reasons I like one piece because then you get more of the show and funnier parts in more detail. Although there is 2 times I can recall like the Sabo one there lol any others havent ever aniyed me at all tho😂😂. I still like it tho it helps remember the story after watching the whole thing and I like longer animes because you get to enjoy and not have to thing about what's next and just enjoy constant episodes with similar characters going though diffthing
I am happy cause my first anime was one piece. So I didn't noticed this issues😂. But now it's still ok. I just love it. And after I started manga now I always read it. More like looking every panel and remember scenes from. Anime. But one time I opened chapter 1 I was like 🧐wtf it wasn't episode 1 then I checked alvida manga panel and it was like it's happening in another island wtf ??😅😅.
Ngl I started reading the manga first cuz I knew it would be faster than the anime but I remember That eventually I switched just because Im a huge animation fan (I mainly switched for the saint charlos punch) and ngl I kinda wish I didn’t It felt like everything Was so damn slow every god damn time anyone does anything there’s a 2 minute reaction scene like Half. A panel does not need to be 2 minutes
Well, as someone who watches the anime. I’ve never really read them manga I mean, I read like one chapter, but since I’m just used to the pacing, I never really realize it. It’s kind of like normal pacing for me so I just watch the whole thing I mean it’s better the longer it takes cause then the more fun you have till it’s over but I mean, also I don’t really like reading so I always watch those 10 minute chapter recaps just to catch up after I finished the anime. Also i dont like reading lol
I agree with what your saying about it being good that it lasts longer. But i also like to read/watch stories again if I really like them, and I couldn’t imagine watching all the OP episodes again. The manga however, I’m very excited to reread, whenever that happens, because it’s so easy to read trough
I didn’t say the music got chopped. I meant that it’ll be very weird in some scenes where a song will start playing and then it’ll stop playing very quickly
3:06 I think that sabo scene was actually done well lol just maybe a bit shorter😭 Also I think wano and egghead were fine tbh they are more worthy but everything prior to that is mid lol
Problem is the adaptation of 0.5-0.75 of a chapter or in rare cases 1 chapter per episode I mean look at the episode count usually the anime episode number is like half of the manga chapter, lets say for a 100 chapter manga the ep count would be like 50 -60 episodes for a weekly anime . For toei animation the current ep no is 1115 which is adaptation of chapter 1081 . One piece is probably the only anime where the ep number is greater than the manga chapter its adapting 😂
I don't think it's as garbage as you say, it depends on the arc and the episode. Your greatest example was Sabo finding out about Ace and I 100% agree with you, but Dressrosa as a whole is the worst arc adapted to anime, witch infuriates me because it's one of my favourites and I can just imagine how cool would be to have this arc under the same umbrella of production of the recent arcs.
Lol i dont care about the anime too i care about the manga sales that i expect to surpass superman and gain Guinness book of record!! The anime its just a tool an advertisement for manga to boost its sale! The author of gintama confirm that anime paid them small even the movies, For me the peak of the anime i think its water 7 arc the introduction of cp9 and rokushiki users, strawhat rescue robin and luffy's second gear, the ost! No need to remake it! Its already a masterpiece!!!
the anime is much worse than just garbage, it is an entirely different story apart from the manga. the level of disservice the anime does to every character, every page, every moment can not be overstated. anime only watchers are not one piece fans at all, the overwhelming percentage of them only pay attention to fights, all just to soypog over and argue endlessly about headcannon powerlevels on twitter. It's just such a shame so many people who could have experienced Oda's masterclass story telling instead settle for the absolute dumpster fire that is the Toei animation.
Lol i watched all episodes of one piece even filler and enjoyed it but the pacing of dressrosa almost killed me 😂 i never had idea of watching at 1.5 speed if one piece have episode contaning 3 to 4 chapter with good animation it will be a masterpiece
I just love the fact that if you read a manga. You have no idea what the colors are supposed to look like for any of the clothing or anything else. So you have no reference to what they actually should look like. Same thing with the voices You're just giving every single character the same voice in your head. Cuz thats a great story lol
Honestly the most frustrating thing about the anime in my opinion is it's actually good. It's actually pretty damn good. But you're telling me I skip a goddamn intro and it shaves off 5 to 7 minutes of the episode telling me I'm watching only 15 to 13 minutes of actual episode content?! I think that's the one thing that actually gets on my damn nerves. Currently watching the anime. The only reason why I won't read the manga is cuz I just genuinely don't have the space for I barely got space for my damn slam dunk collection much less one piece
who would've thought reading panels was faster than an animated episode made by breathing humans that probably doesn't have the endurance to cram 36 action scenes every episode. On a weekly basis
Ideally watching an Anime SHOULD be faster than reading a manga. A proper adaptation covers 2-3 chapters per episode. I usually can read about 2-2.5 chapters of a manga in a normal anime episode length.
@@saminates2002 and the best ratio for one piece being weekly anime is 1.5:1 in terms of chapter to manga ratio. or else it probably wouldn't be able to have a stable weekly anime
I feel like such a weirdo for actually loving these anime scenes, I definetely have felt the pacing issues but most of the time I really like it when they make things super clear and slow, it bothered me much more that the early animation looks all old and out dated, that was actually the only reason I didn't get into One Piece, I couldn't stand how old it looked, I only sucked it up when I saw how fire dressrosa looked
i agree with u for the most part but ur take at 11:15 is just wrong, they simply adapted it in a different way which makes sense, they showed luffy for a sec and fhen explained how he got to where he is

1000000000000%. i have seen so many people talking bout how this remake is pointless because we already have toei's version, but that's nonsense. i feel like the pre-time skip pacing wasn't too bad at all, but my god the pacing post-time skip is fucking unbearable, ESPECIALLY in dressrosa and wano. don't get me wrong i love the current anime (maybe or maybe not because i'm an obsessive weeb who was going to slog through those hundreds of episodes no matter what, as well as having all the time in the world to binge it since i started it back in the 9th grade), but if people really think that it's a good way for newcomers to get into the series, they're just flat out lying.
i really think it's not a bad shout to say that a one piece anime with good pacing that brings the entire runtime of the fully completed series to 400-500 episodes + completely modern animation + upgraded sound effects is automatically in contention for GOAT anime.
naw this is a remake uncensored pirates doing vile shit take notes tokyo ghoul they had numerous attempts 🤣🤣
In the manga don’t they literally just never show him thinking with thought bubbles to show this
@zalgoat Yes and the anime completely misses this part of his character and misunderstand it for stupidity.
One Piece filler: 9% of the total anime
Naruto and Naruto Shippuden filler: 41% of the total anime
Bleach: 45% of the total anime
And our results tend to show that One Piece has bad pacing, meanwhile the other 2 have decent pacing.
So unless you dont animate your anime monthly or seasonaly, animating filler episodes is the best way to fix the pacing
Yup
i really wish toei cared more or at least op had a studio that cared more. they ruined one pieces reputation and now there’s sm people that would never bat an eye at a story that’s so amazing. and the mfs that try to defend the pacing are annoying asf cus they say that 9% stat but the only reason its so low compared to others is since filler is in every ep. there’s barely full filler eps bc the main ones are dragged out hella so that number is so low
Naruto's and Bleach's pacing still isn't ideal. Not as slow as One Piece's of course but even with them doing more filler, a lot of the canon content still felt tedious to get through.
@@Fanimei I know some of Bleach has too fast pacing. Naruto has perfect pacing imo tho
This is so true the pacing is so ass that i literally fell asleep through some episodes of Dressoa just to wake up on the same section.

I do agree the manga is of course superior.
i 100% agree
Sky Pie, Trhiller Bark and Marineford have bad pacing.
@@mray4784He didn't say before time skip had good pacing he's saying it's more watchable than post timeskip

True
The main problems with the anime are pacing and consistency in the animation, but i LOW KEY don't care about those things (They weren't what caught my attention)
The anime was my gateway and the lore + songs were fundamental for me to fall in love with One Piece.
The voice actors do be cooking, it'll be interesting to see the remake with new voice actors

ihope that in the new remake every episode would have a mini-story after the episode and it will cover the cover stories in the manga. So we can see Enel went to the moon in the anime. It kinda nice if that happens.
YES! It's actually kinda weird that the current anime doesn't do this considering how obsessed it is with dragging out the episodes
@@KumoBear12 so true. They rather slow the pacing than have filler episodes that can be important someday just like the cover stories
my goat for mentioning 1015
fyi, The reason why Nami appears in the anime first and meets Luffy is because that's how Oda always wanted.

The new art style is nice, and I think the art and animation is generally better, but they still stretch out scenes for too long.
Bro comparing a page to animation is crazy
5:20 ok bro absolute abysmal take. The anime fight is a massive improvement to the manga, The slow-motion shots are very well paced and the stuff that takes up screen time is impressive and beautiful animation.
You chose the worst example just to hate for no reason. Also all anime add content to their fight, if sukuna vs mahoraga was manga accurate it would be 30 seconds long.
One thing is adding stuff to a fight to make it better, another is stretching everything out to make it as long as possible. I wish sukuna vs mahoraga was 30 seconds long, but that's a different conversation

"Ignorance"💀
Gotta disagree with you on the newer episodes
egghead and onigashima is peak in my book. early wano had way too many probblems tbh
honestly the biggest problem with the anime (but which wasn't one initially) is that it began broadcasting only 2 years after the manga which meant that the pace slowed down
I think that when adapting the manga into an anime, Toei thought that the manga didn't last that long (I mean at the time the only other jumps series that had lasted more than 500 chapters was DB, Koshikamer and Jojo)
another factor that was added is that Oda took a huge break over the years for health reasons, which means that the anime gradually catches up with the manga, this could have been resolved if they had decided to adapt the manga between 2000 and 2002, however as I said he could not have known that the manga would last 27 years, 1124 chapters and 109 volumes, in fact no one knew that the manga would last that long (including Oda) .
another point that could have been proposed would have been to increase the number of filler episodes (on condition of not being in exaggerations like in detective conan)
it would have allowed for a better rhythm if it had had more arc fillers
I will even say I would have even preferred that it is an arc filler between those of Wano and egghead
Hope they do Justice in Sanji fighting scene like in OP Movies and Current eps like He VS Queen,I remember Animation of Sanji VS Gin...the pacing even they dragging his simp😭,
14:09 moment that Yamato shot popped up got me jumping and giggling

Manga is so much better it’s crazy couldn’t even get past the ball trial in skypiea watching the anime switched to manga and loved all of skypiea
Skypiea is so good
I don't mind the anime but I desperately want a remake lol. More for the fact that even though I don't mind the pacing/animation problems, I know a lotttt of people do and the fact one piece is still loved despite that shows how insane the story actually is
Also I agree about the panelling in post timeskip, it's not even the text bubbles for me it's the amount of stuff actually drawn. I honestly wouldn't mind if there was not much background drawn besides the grand and massive scenes, like Luffy's shadow in Skypiea
Yeah a lot of early one piece had white backgrounds and it was so much more clean
So what do you think about the anime so far?
@ I can certainly understand why ppl say pacing is a big problem. Even just the recap and reintroduction of the crew adding up to 6min. (including the opening) is extremely unnecessary for those of us who have been watching almost 1k episodes. That’s not even taking into account how much they stretch the chapters as you pointed out in your video. I’m actually considering skipping straight to the Raid of Onigaishima to see gear 5 animated and get to Egghead.

I still want a remake because i want to watch this new aproach ,but i think people are being too unfair with toei
most seyuu are quite old
and what's more, this is often the case in remakes, I've never seen anyone complain about the change of seyuu in HXH 2011 and Berserk 2012 and I doubt, for example, that he's keeping the seyuu from the fruit basket remake
and then nothing stops them from hiring the old seyuu so that he can interpret old characters like yassop, bell mere, DR kureha
Bleach did it right why can’t these clowns
Pacing is a problem sure but its unfair that you havent adressed the good stretch of nowadays.
In Egghead, We're receiving quite good paced episodes with extra anime content that is of course, Allowed by Oda. Who even advised the Wit Studio to remake One piece in their own style, Rather than being consistent to the manga.
Pacing is still bad in the newer episode. And like I said in the video, 20 good episodes does not excuse 1100 bad ones
The only reason I still watch the anime is because the animation in the recent episodes are god tier and I don't know how to read manga lol

The manga however, I’m very excited to reread, whenever that happens, because it’s so easy to read trough

gonna assume youve never seen one pace because of your criticism of the music getting chopped, something they always fix.
I didn’t say the music got chopped. I meant that it’ll be very weird in some scenes where a song will start playing and then it’ll stop playing very quickly
12:23 It's censorship because at that time one piece was shown at children's times on japan

I think that sabo scene was actually done well lol just maybe a bit shorter😭
Also I think wano and egghead were fine tbh they are more worthy but everything prior to that is mid lol
Wow its almost like the anime is different from the manga
Your missing the point
@@KumoBear12 no I saw the point but it can be exactly the same as the manga
@@Har_239 I don't want it to be the exact same as the manga, so your missing the point
I was not saying that you want it to be an exact copy but just in general
Problem is the adaptation of 0.5-0.75 of a chapter or in rare cases 1 chapter per episode
I mean look at the episode count usually the anime episode number is like half of the manga chapter, lets say for a 100 chapter manga the ep count would be like 50 -60 episodes for a weekly anime .
My one problem with one piece was the character designs that's why i was so happy for the remake but it was revealed to be the exact same designs
Lol i watched all episodes of one piece even filler and enjoyed it but the pacing of dressrosa almost killed me 😂 i never had idea of watching at 1.5 speed if one piece have episode contaning 3 to 4 chapter with good animation it will be a masterpiece
Why didn’t toei make it seasonal wtf
MONEYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fair but there is no one on this earth im paying 20 bucks per volume (in Australia at least) for a 109 volume long story
who would've thought reading panels was faster than an animated episode made by breathing humans that probably doesn't have the endurance to cram 36 action scenes every episode. On a weekly basis
It shouldn't be faster
Ideally watching an Anime SHOULD be faster than reading a manga. A proper adaptation covers 2-3 chapters per episode. I usually can read about 2-2.5 chapters of a manga in a normal anime episode length.
@@saminates2002 and the best ratio for one piece being weekly anime is 1.5:1 in terms of chapter to manga ratio. or else it probably wouldn't be able to have a stable weekly anime
I feel like such a weirdo for actually loving these anime scenes, I definetely have felt the pacing issues but most of the time I really like it when they make things super clear and slow, it bothered me much more that the early animation looks all old and out dated, that was actually the only reason I didn't get into One Piece, I couldn't stand how old it looked, I only sucked it up when I saw how fire dressrosa looked
i agree with u for the most part but ur take at 11:15 is just wrong, they simply adapted it in a different way which makes sense, they showed luffy for a sec and fhen explained how he got to where he is
Yeah and I don't like it
For every one piece anime is generational video you have one of these 😂
There project called one pace
