    I tried to make a few balls of grinded boiled maize this morning, and watched them break down. This is just so eye-opening! Can't believe I never thought to grind my maize... Love it... Many thanks for sharing!

    Glad you enjoyed it Jerome. It is an easy technique to use and works extremely well. I always enjoy watching your videos as they give me a great idea of what is really going on. They definitely improved my fishing that is for sure.

    Another great video. Interesting bit on the blade sizes. I've always used the blade that makes finer mielie but I will definitely be switching to the coarse blade. Also, for any viewers out there, a few of us central Ohio guys have purchased the Weston Heavy-Duty Electric Meat Grinder at Walmart for 100 dollars and it cuts through the corn like butter. Those hand crank grinders can sure give you a shoulder workout!

    Thank You. I guess I should have said the blade with more teeth will make finer pieces making it break much slower. It is not so much the blade size but the less teeth the quicker the break and the more teeth the slower the break. Clayton from Ohio actually introduced this to me about 5 years ago. He moved back to Ohio a while back. I will have to check out the meat grinder you mentioned. Thanks!

    I have always used it somewhat warm. My friend did however use it cold it and worked very well so I would say you could grind it cold and it would still work. Glad you liked it!

    Thanks! Right now I am doing very very basic recipes to make them as easy as possible. I have some more advanced versions I will be working on later as time goes on. I would imagine you could use the bait bomb with this. The only concern I would see is the corn once ground does get sticky and that might make it a little tougher with the bait bomb but I am sure it is doable. I think the pack of the bait bomb would work fine and not over compress the corn.

    I will have a grits packbait video up in a week. That is an excellent cold water bait to use. I usually use I in march to the end of may. It is soft and spongy and very easy to make. It packs well and breaks down in around 2 minutes and has a lot of action coming off of the pack.

    I am from South Africa. I am now almost 62 years old. We did this many times when I was a kid and until a few years ago. I sometimes still do it but nowadays we buy it already prepared, you just add water and there you have your mielie bomb

    Good video! I use the corn in with some other indgredients for a pack bait, but thats a little simpler and very nice! Could you use the bait bomb for packing? Or would it pack it to hard you think? Just wondering I use the bait bomb a lot for my pack baits.

    Your videos are very helpful ive learned a lot from you.Where do i get tiger nuts at?And whats another good pick up for carp?Thanks a lot i appreciate it

  • @BrianWingard
    @BrianWingard  10 лет назад

    +Jalen Jackson I would not recommend letting it dry out. You can cook it the day before and just grind it at the lake. The break time depends on how many squeezes and can be adjusted very easily.

    Hey Brian, you know any good dough baits that will catch big carp?Keep doing your videos please lol you da man! Thanks again

    If you grind at home I recommend taking some corn flour with you in case it doesn't bind very tight. It is very important to keep a lid on it so it doesn't dry out. I prefer a fresh grind but I am sure it will still work if you grind at home. I would not do it days in advance though but maybe an hour or so before leaving for the best results.

    Kenny, I usually add the CC Moore flavorings to the corn before cooking it that way it is already soaked into the corn before grinding. I am sure you could add some afterwards though. Thanks for watching!

    I know this is a pretty old video but here goes. I laughed out load when you pronounced the "Mielie Bomb" bit with your accent. I'm from South Africa. You got the pronunciation pretty spot on though. ;)
    We can pick up 2 or 5 kg bags of mielie bomb in any fishing tackle shop over here. Sure does beat having to grind it up yourself. We also get all sorts of different flavours; caramel, plain, banana and almond are the most common ones.
    Thanks for the great video, very informative to see how it breaks down. :)

    Big Carp Tackle sells the tiger nuts. They sell unprepared ones that you make yourself and you can see the video here on how to do so. If you click my other videos I have a video on how to prepare tiger nuts. Artificial corn is also a great pick up as well. If you put it on the hair rig and if you add a shot in between the hook and the corn it will balance off of the bottom. I have a video on this coming out soon.

    Can you let this bait dry out then grind it down and add karo to bind as I fish pay lakes and like to make baits the day before to check break times

    +Suzan Thompson I have tried it before but it doesn't pack as good. When you do a fresh grind it gets a lot stickier and releases the gluten out of the corn. Thanks for watching!

    Can you make a video on a sweet feed pack bait please?

    • @BrianWingard
      @BrianWingard  11 лет назад

      Jalen Jackson I only use sweet feed as an additive. You would have to add a lot of another ingredient that binds to get it to pack properly. It goes great with oats though.. Thanks For watching1
