  • My buddy's 412 RWHP Crown Vic tagging along with a 2013+ GT500 down the 1/4 mile. This car is damn near the definition of sleeper. A couple details:
    - 4.6L PI swapped from a 2000 Mustang GT
    - Ported 03/04 Cobra Blower @ ~9 psi
    - Custom 5-speed manual swap from 2000 GT
    - 3.73 Posi
    - Custom 4" Intake
    - Custom Front-Mount Heat Exchanger
    - Custom SCT Self-Tuned
    - Stock Manifolds / 2.5" Catback
    This car retains all factory features such as A/C and power steering. How awesome is that? More boost coming soon!

    This is what an Impala SS rival would've been back in the '90s.

    If he had launched better, he would have beat the mustang.
    Nice car though.

      I made about 20 runs that day. I'm a decent driver and I tried everything. The car had major wheel hop issues on the 275 street tires and the sticky surface. The pre-98 Crown Vics had a rear suspension design that mimicked a Fox Mustang, but with extremely soft bushings. On this surface the axle would wind up violently and bottom out the bushings and start wheel hopping. My best 60fts came with very soft street starts to keep the axle from banging around. They don't make control arms for the pre-98s, but I did have a set of Poly control arm bushings at home in garage that I hadn't gotten around to putting in yet. But it didn't have the problem on the street so I wasn't in a hurry to put them in. Had I known it would do that at the track I would have installed them before heading down. It would have been a 13.0 car on its street tires. Probably mid 12s on my ET streets. But I sold it before trying either.

      Thought Police He's not lying. He sold it to me and I put it on 28s and painted it hot pink.

      I mean, he got out trapped by 10 MPH. Dude in the gt500, if it was a 13, was doing something badly wrong anyway to only trap 114 and run a 13.2

    Nice setup, I just cobra swapped mine about a year ago, run a solid 13@ 114.8 mph with a T56 and no weight stripped out with A/C, and stuff.
    But that wasnt a GT500. No GT500 on the planet runs a 13.2. Bet the mustang driver was salty like the driver of the 2015 was I raced against and nearly beat was lol. 12.98 for him, and 13.001 for me.
    Love those wheels though!

      +SlowbraVic this is filmed at Bandimere in Colorado. Track is 5800ft above sea level so most cars run over a second slower than they would closer to sea level.

      +ForceFedProductions it doesn't matter with forced induction. and the GT500 is an 11 to 12 second car.

    • @TBirdKris
      @TBirdKris 7 лет назад +1

      No, forced induction cars still lose about 25% up here. I run a dyno and the uncorrected numbers still suck and are roughly 25% less than they should be. Turbo cars lose slightly less because they still try to achieve the same wastegate setting, but it's still like 20% depending on the car.

      It was a real GT500. He wasn't a great driver. And on regular street tires the older GT500s are at best a high 12 car. The 13-14 ones like the one in this video should be a mid-low 12 car up here.
      For reference I had an 07 Mustang GT with a 2.3 Whipple on it and a manual trans. It was a 450-480whp car corrected. So similar to GT500 numbers. That makes it about 320-350 whp uncorrected up here. On some 26x11.5 Mickey Thompson ET streets it did 1.7 60 fts and 12.20s all day long at 110 mph.
      My Crown Vic went 13.30s that day too. Just not in this video.

    How in the hell is a 412 RWHP Crown Vic running a 13.5 in the 1/4 mile? My vic has 350 RWHP and it's running upper 12's.

    • @ForceFedProductions
      @ForceFedProductions  8 лет назад +6

      Bandimere is 5800ft above sea level. You can pretty much add 1+ second to every non-turbo car versus sea level times. Stock Hellcats run mid-low 12s up here.

      Austin Fifield what's all done too your im.in 13s bone stock with single shot of nitrious that's it a stock would not run 13s in 1/4 mile I'd like too see your time slips

    If it has 412hp, I would expect it to be much faster.

    • @ForceFedProductions
      @ForceFedProductions  4 года назад

      Bandimere is at altitude and the 412 is a corrected dyno number. If you figure for an uncorrected number, its probably making about 300rwhp up here

  • @joe735
    @joe735 Год назад

    That elevation must be death to cars, considering I ran 12.6 @108 at Maryland International in a Mustang that only put down 260whp

    • @ForceFedProductions
      @ForceFedProductions  Год назад +1

      Yeah Bandimere is a humbling experience for alot of people. Cars usually run a full second slower or worse up here. The DA is usually around 7500ft in the early spring and fall but hits 9000-10k in the summer.

      @@ForceFedProductions good grief 🥴. Makes me appreciate the good nights we get down this way, sometimes with -2000 DA
