Delta Air Lines’ A350 is their flagship airplane. I flew on the first ever Delta A350 flight back in October 2017, but haven’t been back in a Delta One Suite (the Delta A350 first class) since then.
I needed to get to Cape Town and when I saw the Delta A350 flight as part of a potential itinerary, I jumped out of my seat! Flying on the very first flight of the Delta A350 was exciting enough, but getting the chance to see whether it has stood the test of time was even more exciting.
This video highlights the lounge in Detroit, the Delta A350 Delta One Suite, IFE, Food, and service. If you’re thinking about flying with Delta in their flagship A350 - particularly in Delta One - this video has it all!

Can you please try Qantas First Class
Why do you so love delta? At least from my experience, there are a terrible airlines (not as American airlines tho)
NordVPN is a great product...can’t agree more Jeb. Great upload, many thanks. 🙏🏼🛫
The scratches on the inside of the windows are human abuse. Scratches on the outside are due to micro particles bouncing off of the aircraft’s windows at high speeds. At those speeds even a little bit of micro particles can be like a sand blaster to the windows of the aircraft. You will generally notice the further most windows of an aircraft are more scratched because of the more direct contact they are hit with due to it being tapered. Every heavy-check on an aircraft they replace several of the windows because of this scratching.
Jeb Brooks I feel the exact same way about the dots!!! They’re so annoying and I fly through Detroit so much.
Like the new editing style! But the top left water mark is oversized and very noticeable
funny enough i only noticed after i found this comment
I didn't even realise that.
Thanks so much for the feedback. I've included it in the last several videos, but this is the first time it seems to be noticeable. I'll make it a bit smaller in the future!
I’m a pilot based in Detroit, and have always been told the dots were designed to reduce solar heating of the terminal through the massive windows as an energy saving method.
M Groh Yeah this is definitely what it’s for.
That’s what I thought they were for too
That's what I was told years ago.
Are you Delta pilot?
Awesome info. That makes WAY more sense than birds! Thanks!!
Although I’m based in New York City, I used to have an office in Detroit, circa 1998-99. When I’d fly into Detroit’s dreary airport, I’d see a massive hole in the ground.....which eventually became the new airport terminal! Who knew?! It’s actually a great hub for transfers, better than most U.S. and European hubs.
I live in the Detroit area, DTW airport truly is one of the best in the world and came a long way in comparison to the old structure.
I second this. The old airport was one of the worst I ever flew from, but the new one is really great - top class.
anxious to see the St Helena video, have read a lot about the island, and their landing strip.
I'll be having a layover in the Detroit airport for the first time over spring break! It's always a pleasure exploring a new airport. The end of my journey is at Reagan International Airport as well, which is another new one for me! I can't wait to see them both.
DTW is my home airport, so glad u can experience how great it is!
Another Detroiter here, and amazingly enough the DL (McNamara) terminal is more than 18 years old and still holds up.
You didn't "break"the door. You unlocked the emergency exit so the door can freely swing open if it was closed. Also, that silver mood light on the wall of the suite slides down to reveal a movable directional reading light. Glad you enjoyed the flight on our flagship out of my home DTW! I've got some great pics/vids working on them!
I fly the DTW to LHR route frequently and I concur with your assessments of the level of service and experience with Delta. Their excellence is consistent and exemplary.
Great video! Thank you for letting us ride along on this 2 leg journey with you! What an amazing adventure! Safe travels and all the very best from the west coast of Florida USA!!!
Excellent Jeb! I can’t wait for future videos. Sounds like an incredible trip!
Here's to a great flight...Jeb !! Well done !! DB will be pleased !! A most excellent flight Jeb and the score seems to sum things up !! Thanks for yet another great review and as always I look forward to your next adventure and flight !! Well done again !!
Detroit to Amsterdam! I always do this trip, flew it about 10 times. I usually fly on an A330 but last time I flew on a A350. It was wonderful.
Great video Jeb, I love the timing of your trip to St Heliana just after Wendover published the documentary on the airport there.
Unlikely. At high speed, any debris in the air would have sandblasted the window smooth with very microscopic scratches, especially these widebody spend most of their life in the air. Most of Delta 777 still have pretty unscratched windows. These exterior window scratches are likely caused by carelessness of ground crew when docking the jetbrige door, or Airbus is using new glass materials very prone to scratch.
Not correct. The scratches on this window are likely due to jet bridge awnings making contact with the window. I’ll bet any amount of money that if you move to the right side of the plane, the windows are pristine, especially on a plane this new.
I love how you always have a smile on your face, no matter what.
Awesome stuff Jeb, loved what you did with the sponsor over your connecting flight and feel like this was a step up for your videos!
Thanks! I definitely like NordVPN and wanted to showcase them in an engaging way! I've also been learning a lot about editing lately!
Love the videos as always Jeb! Keep up the great work!
Always love your videos! This one is great, as usual. From a fellow North Carolinian, Thank you :)
Excellent video Jeb! Keep up the good work.
4:55 I see you tried to do a Vicarious Voyager there XP
agree with the scores! Thank you for sharing Jeb
i think this is one of the best business class suites, i build these suits in thompson aero seating in northern ireland and have to say the delta 1 suite is 1 of the best an nicest to build, its good to see a video of them in use
Great review and BTW love your Rolex GMT Master II with the meteorite dial! Safe travels!!!
Thnx for the review, can’t wait to fly the delta one suite nxt month. Hope you enjoyed Amsterdam greetings from The Netherlands 🇳🇱😉
The announcement by the Gate Agents at Delta is a regular thing. I fly Delta almost exclusively (my Son is a Pilot) and I’ve never had a flight where the Gate Agent didn’t welcome passengers to the gate. Love your channel✈️
Delta's A350 looks beautiful
When all of the travel restrictions are lifted, I want to go to Japan with this bird
Another great video! Jealous of your travel experiences 👌🏼
Great Video. i fly this route 3 times a year as i live between Italy and the US. I am in fact flying this same flight tomorrow. Love the 350 and Delta is doing a pretty good job, they better as i own stock!!!!!
I have been on this flight but coming back from Amsterdam on the way there me and my mom where on a A330 in the summer, we were on a mommy and me trip it was amazing i recommend visiting the windmills and/or mudduradam depending on how long your there for enjoy your trip.😊
Yay a new Jeb video!
*Premiering in 11 hours.*
SCREEEEEEE
Awesome video Jeb! I flew AMS-DTW on the DL A350 (N512DN - 24th September 2019 - DL133) Incredible flight and I was flying Economy! Keep up the great work and stay safe. From here in Liverpool, England :)
I have been waiting for ages for someone to visit Saint Helena. So glad that you will be vlogging from there Jeb! Take care and have a pleasant weekend! As your friend Dennis says, Happy Travels! ♥️🛫🌎
But Wendover Production did documentary on the airport
@@lordray1284 Yes, and it was nice but I have been waiting for an aviation vlogger to highlight the flight over and back from South Africa. Would love to fly in to their airport. Talk about exciting!
It was an exciting trip. I can't wait to share it with you all!
I waited a long time not disappointed
Video quality getting better and better!
Thanks so much for visiting my home airport of DTW!
I had a Delta flight from St Louis to Greensboro with a connection in Detroit not long ago. I learned a critical lesson: always be pleasant and nice to the Delta employees on the ground. My connection in Detroit was busted with no more flights to Greensboro that day. I was pleasant to the employee helping stranded passengers and I got a complimentary hotel room and an amenity kit. The passengers who were angry and raising Cain with the Delta employees had to spend the night in the Detroit terminal.
Such an amazing video Jeb keep up the great 👍 work
I think my blood nose this morning at 3am (the time this uploaded in my country) because I was so excited to wake up this morning to watch this 😂
I hate the dots too!!!! Several years ago I had a chance to get a great shot of a 747 from behind the fountain in the main concourse but those damn dots killed the shot!!!! hahahah. Great video Jeb.
The Delft houses were a great gift, you'll have to fly on KLM a few more times to collect the lot, lol. Love your adventures, and I feel like I'm with you. 3:51
😅❤
Oh man I didn’t know we’re from the same Hometown! It’s great knowing there’s a youtuber from here lol 😎😁
Nice video! I like your flight reviews very much!
Jeb, amazing video as always. Delta by is the best airline in America
I’ve flown Delta One in domestic (did a trip report on it) and absolutely loved it. Would do again
I fly with them as a paying passenger now,and as a non rev most of my life. They are a great company both of my parents worked for. Thanks for your support. They will need it now.I am worried about the virus. At least oil prices are low,but the industry is going to take a beating for a few months.
Delta uses their old holdovers planes from to PDX-AMS. My last trip was on 767 and the next will be A330. So I figure I'll be flying to Amsterdam on one of those A350s in about 20 years. But I don't mind flying on older planes because Delta is good at keeping their old cabins up to date.
Yeah and also I think I read that the A330s are getting refurbed with D1 Suites soon.
@@cokecansandwinglets5783 Unfortunately the Premium Select seats aren't available on my upcoming PDX-AMS flight. But if I really wanted it bad enough, I could have booked a SEA connection with one of those seats on an A330-900neo.
Eurotraveller Jones yeah they’re not on the normal A330s yet but I read that it’ll be here by 2021
@@cokecansandwinglets5783 Wonderful! Then in that case, I'll be flying Premium Select next time.
Great video Jeb!
I came here for that spanx sky club shot!! I got what I wanted.
The sky club at the B/C concourse offers views of the ramps. Great views for spotting.
this used to be my home airport where I had to drive 2 hours and 35 minutes to get there from my small town and i am already getting flashbacks
I believe your A350 flight got a boost from the jet stream across the pond making your arrival faster (not good for us AV FANS lol) . Great review as always. Keep them coming please.
mr. Brooks you have a perfect speech, you make a perfect videos for studying language)))
Good job Jeb! I do love an A350.
Yes those dots on the window at DTW...I couldn't take a good picture of my CRJ900 plane from Norfolk after I disembarked, and my A350 to Narita as well. That was February lasy year and it was snowing too.
I’m going to be doing the reverse flight AMS - DTW in Delta One on this same bird. It’s over an hour longer flight and during the daytime. I’m really looking forward to my first international flight in business class. I’ve flown overseas several times on Delta and the old Northwest Airlines. It has always been great. And domestically, DAL is for sure My favorite!
I agree on flight map. Although I enjoy movies, nothing gets me more excited than watching the flight map and seeing the flights route. I would’ve expected Delta to feature something like the version FlightPath3D where you can move the map around, tap and see info of cities you’re flying by, etc.
Fair call. Thank you
Thanks Jeb! It's not often you wish you had more time on a flight... but it looked like this was a nice experience... thanks for the good comments. I'm retired from DL - was an IT systems engineer for 25 years... it's amazing how far we've come.
Aside from the watermark, and your strange narrative over-emphasis ("X was a nightmare!" Y was incredible!"), I enjoyed the visuals of this flight, particularly the lounge shots. Amazing! ;)
My wife and I should be taking this exact route tomorrow, but we cancelled our 10 day trip to Amsterdam and Paris. We will reschedule and try again someday soon. The review was great and I appreciate the GSO to DTW b-roll. Cheers.
The "Detroit Dots" are also do disperse direct sunlight so the airport stays well lit but the sun is never in your eyes
Loved my flight on it but it was very short, had the middle seat to me and my friend. Flight was very comfortable and food was great in 2018z
OMG Your going to St. Helena. I recently saw a video about how tricky is to land at that airport. Can wait to see your video! Cheers
White gold, meteorite dial GMT II??? That's MAD, mate!!! 🤜🏼 🙏🏼
Let’s go been waiting for first episode of this long trip report! Exited to see what is next!👍
Looks like heaven. I'll have to try this route one day. Got back from the SLC-HNL A-330 yesterday in Delta One and it's ghetto compared to this 350.
You showed the seat I stayed in for several hours in Greensboro while waiting for my delayed flight to Detroit....missed my connection.
Detroit is one of my favorites!
that looked like a fun flight
Yes, delta international is great. Took a flight from Atlanta to Amsterdam in economy and was pleasantly surprised.
15 years ago, I flew them from JFK-AMS, and it was great, short flight, 5h50m.
Awesome video!
I agree on the your review, greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽
Please stay safe and healthy :) great videos!
Finally!!! I hope you had a nice time off. Are you able to share your computer desktop picture? It’s beautiful!!!
Stay safe Jeb!!
This wouldn’t be a true Jeb Brooks video if you didn’t rate the headphones. I’m disappointed (JK).
I can’t wait to check this one out Jeb!! As said on Instagram, I’ll be flying the A350 in Delta One this summer in Seat 5A, and so I can’t wait to see your experience!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
I have ridden on it 2 times and i agree with dots love dtw
I haven't gotten to check out the new Delta One suites or the A350. Can't wait to get out there again
Great video, don't get much of DL in Australia, but I do want to try Delta One. Looking very much forward to St Helena, it's on my list and has been for a while!
Ross Hamilton Delta One Suites are on the 777 service to Sydney.
@@afcgeo882 Yes, they only fly to SYD though don't they? As in DL don't serve anywhere else in Aus? They just use Virgin Australia as a feeder to SYD, and VA operate all the other international flights. So availability can be difficult for redemptions. It's there, just requires some planning!
Ross Hamilton Exactly right.
A350 is my favorite!
Love when you fly through my home airport and my favorite airline by far, Delta! Proud to be a Detroiter, engineer, and Delta sky miles member!
Manpreet Singh Same Here!!
great report big like
Thanks so much for the video. Currently Debating Whether to fly Delta One or Iceland Air Saga class to Reykjavik this summer. It’s about 2x as expensive to fly with Delta but Saga Class is not a personal suite like this.
Great video as usual. The 'Detroit dots' seem far too intrusive. I had problems at my home with birds flying into clear glass patio screens, apparently the panels were in their line of flight through to nearby trees and the birds could not see any obstacle. This was fixed by attaching a single small (4 sq inches) almost clear plastic transfer of a leaf onto each panel. This caused sufficient distortion to alert birds, who have amazing eyesight and maneuverability, of the presence of an obstacle and fixed the problem of bird strike almost completely. The patches are available in New Zealand for a couple of dollars each - perhaps you could pass this info on to Detroit airport management or I could bring a sample with me as I will be flying out of Detroit later this year!
Ugh. We have those at Chicago ORD on the new L Stinger. It would have the most incredible views, but the dots just ruin every photo.
I can't wait to see this new vid, love your channel keep it up!!!
Ahhh, gate A24 at DTW, I've flown out of that gate a few times recently.
going to ams in july also a 350 but economy my first over the pond flt and KLM flt back 777-300 i will be leaving from LIT conx thru ATL cant wait
Wow! Can't wait for the Saint Helena flight review! If you stayed there for some days, would you also add some local footage? I guess it would be nice as it is a less know place :)
Lorenzo Contini i’m signing that petition as well!
Hey Jeb, thanks so much for your awesome videos. I love your honesty and down to earth style reporting. You are like a modern journalist. Your videos have inspired me to make my own videos my self as a fellow avegeek!
Those dots are for solar energy it stops the over heating from the sun... Also it stops the sun reflections when the windows were first installed a lot of people complained because the sun was blinding them.. Now the dots might allow certain kind of birds from hitting the windows but no its a solar and reflection thing..
At Atlanta, Delta is replacing their A330-300s with A350-900s for flights to Paris and Amsterdam. I captured a Delta A350-941 from Atlanta to Amsterdam in August 7. The registration was N506DN.
I love the A350
You Jeb are arguably the best American aviation trip reporter that I’ve seen so far! Keep up the great work man! 👍😎
Also love Detroit my Home Airport. Home of Caleb’s Aviation my RUclips Channel!
That’s not true the dots our there for keeping the heat from the sunlight out of the terminals and reduce uv radiation waves. Those dots are like the “Tempdots” as they are branded like at RDU are to keep the airport terminal temperature nice and comfortable… 😌
Yay new video!
Idk what looks cooler, in the thumbnail, the delta a350, or that Ford Escape just beside it
you trvel vlogers have inspired me
Love the hometown airline!
